[Q] GINGERDX Questions!

the requirements stated :
Requirements
- Rooted
- ClockworkMod Recovery (v014+)
- Latest kernel and latest baseband xxx015
which means now i have to update my x8 to latest 2.1 eclair, and the root and install CWM recovery, and no need to unlock bootloader? no need to flash custom kernel? stock kernel can do just fine?

Yea...if u havent root, use stock rom,2.1 eclair (not like u have other rom),root,install xrec or CWM, then flash Gingerdx ( follow the instruction at gdx thread)

nop just have that on your cel and you can flash it, and remember making a full wipe for better results on the rom

Just root, install CWM, and flash the rom, modded kernel is not required
Do not install GingerDX with xRecovery, it will have bugs if you do, use CWM and before you install the rom, do a full wipe.

Facing a Problem on gingerdx on Linuxdx,
Used this combination for last 2 wks had no problem, today I activated the 3g on it,
Now the Market App is not working, Internet is quite slow, Apps are not downloading and restarts.
It is not so that i have not updated apps, I used to do the same by Wi-Fi Hotspots,
Can somebody help me on this,

rom and kernel
To flash KERNEL you need unlock bootloader.
To install ROM you need root + recovery.

Excuse, but I installed it with xRecovery and I have no bugs. I only feel that battery draining is higher than stock ROM, but that's all. I've used it for a week without problems.

i also installed it with the xRecovery but i had alot of bug until i installer it with CWM buy strangely i have only 1 bug whit all the roms (without counting battery drain in some of them) it's the camera after having the room like 14 hrs when i put tehe cmaera it appears a black grid :S in the gingerDX there were only 8 lines all in the middle anyone knows why?

Maybe its priblem with your camera, because its a strange problem

how do i check if the camera it's the problem?
really i don's have any idea obviously with the stock no problms but only appears with the roms sometimes they don't appear(lite 2 of 20 :S) i can take photos they dont appear with the grid lines...

google account won't sync
Can someone help me? my google account isn't synchronizing. Can't get my contacts neither gmail.
What should i do? i got GingerDX + stock kernel and not yet installed Timescape
Any suggestions?

u can use with stock kernel too, if u wanna use custom kernel then u need to unlock bootloader, and all gingerdx roms v14 and above needs to be installed with cwm

go to settings/ Accounts & Sync and hit auto-sync or down on list hit on gmail account

I have cwm 3.2.0.0 is the same thing with cwm v014+???

[Q] What ROM is the best for X8?

Hi everyone!
I would like to know which one of the ROMS for X8 is the best in performance for dailly tasks. Because i have tested 3 ROMs and none of have good battery perfomance on a daily basis.
What ROM should I try? Thanks for all your answers. Take care!

I find gdx v20 best for day 2 day use

for me..
and hightly recomment is GingerDX v20
and when you know after reading thread by thread you can match with kernel
linuxDX, or Alfs kernel, or nAa kernel...
it can simply make your device faster and smootherst
but beware if you new on kernel
(make sure your know what are U doing when playing with kernel and unlock bootloader)
because it can brick you phone!
and then I sure after this you will screaming here and asking how to save your bricked phone!!

ginger x20 keeps on crashing my apps non stop why?? downloaded 10 apps and 6 of them crashed and had to install again..is this normal?

U have to follow installation properly
make sure install GDX with CWM instead Xrecovery
and fullwipe..
or maybe your device 'special' same like my friend phone
(when I flashing GDX 20 and GDX v19 on his phone)
I found this problem = sdcard no show
but when in recovery = all files and folder prety there
and I have no idea why....

No you need tap on the screen,also you need to have installed.

froyopro incase of daily tasks and battery performance

for me gingerdx v20 is the best rom for x8 super fast and no lag

when u reboot..
press volume down key or/and tap screen (when u see SE white logo)
u'll see CWM recovery and install GDX by this way
or if u can get into CWM th8 mean U don't have CWM
so install dual recovery.zip first (u can use search button)
or install other rom which one have dual recovery pre install

open xrecovery and find CWM
if CWM is missing then go donwload it...
is cwm same with xrecovery?or is it and extension?
then use cwm and install the mod instead of xrecovery (do i need to system wipe?)
reboot phone then done?
hmmm just wondering will my link2sd apps will stay?
does it have anything to do with busybox? according to dotsen i must not update busybox

Kernel issue

Hi! I unlocked bootloader and installed naaKernel v08. im happy with it but im having one issue. Sometimes (like 1 time per day) my screen "overlapps" like in the image bellow, after i reboot phone its ok though. Is anyone having this problem too?

Have you tried fullwipe? Perhaps it's not about Karnel!

which rom have you? i think this is rom problem

what is the ROM you are using?may be it's a problem with the launcher too as I think.do you use SE thing as in the photo

It happened with both MiniCM7 and GingerXperiaRay both latest version and with full wipes beetween instaling roms. I think its a kernel bug also because when i installed this kernel i had stock rom and CWMRecovery had this "cuts" in the screen too.
Im thinking of changing to GDX with Alfs kernel though i like GingerRay =s

Same thing happened to me in the Recovery with Naa v08.

It's a kernel bug, you'll have to endure it...
Or try an other kernel like Alfs or linuxDX with an other ROM

Enable boot animation in options.
In another thread nAa say this as a cure

[Q] GingerXperia V22 , Call screen lag

Hi,
I am using W8 and using the custome ROM GingerXperia V22 which is beautiful and i really like it. Only thing i am having issue is the call screen lag, When i receive the call or call a contact,all i see is a black screen for couple of seconds. Any idea how to overcome this?

its because you use stock kernel+gingerxperia. same happens with stock+gingerdx
flash alfs06 kernel which i believe is compatible with both ROMS: gingerxperia and gingerdx

i have that problem to with v22 and stock kernel. is there an solution without a custom kernel cause i am afraid of unlocking the bootloader cause chance of simlock and brick

whats your phone date? if it is less than 11W29 and you know to read a few steps in english, you will be fine

You are right it just seems to be very hard, but after all it takes only 5 minutes to unlock and install custom kernel....i know it coz iv just do it...

you could try apps from the market like Go Contacts ...works well for me!

urgent

i rooted my xperia x8 and install link2sd after i setup x recovery and make sure it's installed i reeboted my phone but it's not responding it stops wroking after sony erricson welcome message not the white which u began to press back button but after it

It's a soft brick. Use PCC/SEUS

You should press the back button before the logo multiple time until the logo come out.
Then after you got to the recovery .
Do a full wipe or factory reset using recovery.

thanks i managed to use xrecovery and i have installed froyo 2.2 v1 and it works ok but when i log onto internet through wifi android market updated became oogle play store and everytime i used appear with a message force close and even any prog i update show with a message force close what is the issue or what is the best rom for my experia x8... anyone help plllllz

I think PrimeHD 6.0 With alfs 8 is the best
PrimeHD 6.0 works with stock nAa alfs and LinuxDX kernel

Minicm7 With nAa-11 Kernel is the best. Before Fully Working CM9 Release From Paul-xxx. Check it out here. Minicm7-nobodyAtall.

miui gb is better,i think the link is in my signature.rom is stable,and everything works(only video recorder needs to be fixed)
