[Metamorph] Gingerbread (Statusbar + icons) (more to come) - Motorola Droid 3

I wanted to make a theme for myself, and I felt like sharing it with everyone here.
Right now, it includes icons for signal, data, and battery. I have also changed all but one part of the pull-down notification bar.
Images:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see, I changed all of it but that one little part.
If you can figure out which image that is (I can't for the life of me), I'll change it asap.
I also got to work changing everything from white and blue to black and orange... I'll upload that at a later date when I have in a somewhat beta stage.
Anyways, here's a download for it:
Install like any other Metamorph theme.
*NOTE* When installing, it'll FC after it applies SystemUI. Keep hitting "close", and wait for the 'continue' prompt to show up for editing framework-res. Quickly tap 'close' on the FC and then tap 'continue' on the framework-res prompt thing.

Looks good. I downloaded and tried to apply but I keep getting a "theme control file is missing" error. Any ides?
Update1
NM: I figured it out. There were 2 directories inside the zip and it was throwing off Metamorph. Looks fantastic dude, good work.
Update2

I think you may want to credit the original author for creating this. Check the bionic theme forum.

I made things black in mspaint, got the crosshatch design from a CM7 build, and the rest from the UOT Kitchen.

I couldn't find the file for the headers in the notification pull down either. Annoyed by the blue bar where everything else is black/grey. Let me know if you do.

Oh. I will.
It's probably hidden in some .xml file...
I'm setting up Arch Linux on my laptop today and plan to dig around everywhere I can to find this. I'm starting to think it's not an image, but a single defined color somewhere in some code.

Agreed. Id Be so much nicer if we were working with a deodexed system. I've tried every image that is remotely close to that bar. I was just hoping it was an image for ease of metamorph, since flashing with CW is still being developed.

I thought someone already deoxed it for theming purposes..

Yes, but since the recovery isn't complete yet, update.zip format is risky. Been told there's a good chance id be sbfing if it failed. Also the process to remove all the odex files and push the deodexed apk is a pita and still undergoing testing.

[Theme] Dark Gloss Mod UPDATED 11/08 Now available in ROM Manager!

Hey guys.. Thought I would share this with you. My goal is to make a complete dark themed UI for our Fascinate as the stock UI is horrible in my opinion. Hours later, I think I'm off to a good start! Thanks to DtatchD and the others in IRC for the help plus the other themers out there as I grabbed stuff from all over the place. If I forked a .png from you let me know so I can give you credit, as I have don't remember where anything came from! Thanks to tiger4life for porting the reboot options and goldenstorm for his base for the battery mod! Also big thanks to reefermattness for his awesome dialer/carbon pngs and for letting me know who the OP of the .pngs is.
EDIT 11/08: Now available in ROM Manager under JT! There are two theme downloads to pick from. The first has stock window animations and the second has custom "slide" animations. If using the custom animations download the app "Spare Parts" from the market and turn all transitions/animations to fast to really see them fly. There is also a Swype keyboard skin Metamorph as well as some addition window animations in the form of Metamorphs. This took forever to put together, beer fund information is in my sig! Enjoy!

Installation Instructions:Flash the main DarkGlossMod.zip in recovery. The extras are Metamorphs, which is a free app in the Market. After downloading, place the BlackGlass.zip (Swype) or extract the animation of your choice (i.e. fold-animation) from the animation.zip and place in the AndroidThemes folder on your SD card. Open Metamorph and pick extract new theme. Pick the .xml file and apply all.
BIG THANKS TO DONATORS!

First I have heard bro. Those animations have been working for a long time, dunno why you would be having problems. Possibly try and reapply?
I haven't had a chance to look at the files but is it possible to mix and match the animations. I like the stock transitions but would prefer the bounce window animations.

First let me just say this theme is bad ass. I appreciate the hard work cuz I do a lot of this stuff but my computer is broken There is one thing though, could you please change the sub text color to green or something other than the god awful blue that this thing haas stock? It would greatly be appreciated. Oh, and thank you for not theming apps. If you do could you please leave it as optional like you did with swype.

UPDATED 12/3 [THEME] ACSyndicate V2.2 for DK17 W/ Transitions, 1% batt, ACS branding

Hello Everyone,
This guy seems to be fully working for me now! Sorry for the delay, been extremely busy. The ACSyndicate theme gives you one percent batt, ACSyndicate branding as opposed to sprint branding, a new ACSyndicate styled lockscreen, and some other changes due to all of the wonderful work over at ACS. Enjoy everyone!
As always, let me know if there are any issues.
http://www.4shared.com/file/gVfCliF8/ACSyndicate_v20.html
To disable transitions, simply download spare parts and disable within there
Updates to come - Fix colored tabs on dialer
- More ACS specific theming
Credit to ThomasSkull666 & mysteryemotions for the batt/branding mods, as well as some themed Apks.
Credit to reefermattness for some dialer pngs.
Credit to stalebread on SDX for creating transitions.
If I forgot ya, let me know!

LOL short and sweet right. It's one of the 3 apps that have control over your dialer. There is dialertabactivity, phone, and contacts. Contacts has more control with pictures of contacts and what not. Dialertabactivity holds the images for the actual dialer buttons and the icon for phone.apk.

[APP-THEME]**Pheonix Bubbles** + Black MMS

I take no credit for this. Credit goes to MysteryEmotionz and ACSyndicate, I just replaced the bubbles to ones i thought were cool from my buddy's Captivate (Rom is called Phoenix). For some people, even changing picture files in a flashable zip seems far fetched, but that is all i've done here.
Show thanks here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992001 for the original Black-mms
I like the bubbles shadow-trimmed in green and orange.
I haven't started theming for android (done some webOS), so I thought i'd start by piecing my favorites together, starting with the Black MMS app, thanks to MysteryEmotionz and ACSyndicate!
When I get some time away from work and school, i'll throw some stuff together of my own work, but thought i'd share this incase anyone else wants to use it.
I like the phoenix rom's look, so i may try to bring some of its theme over to the epic. Really, its beginners stuff to do, but why not, right? the more the merrier!

Yup, that's what I'm using this with too right now. I'm sure I'll switch back to the ACS ROM, but I like the theming of the VIPERrom. Only thing out of place is the Contacts.apk, but I'm hoping the OP gets that changed! Thanks OP!
I thought I'd like the theme but I didn't realize hat it changed the area surrounding the contact info/send message area as well. Can you make those back to default or even help me outwith where to find the default configuration. I forgot to backup before flashing, any help is appreciated. Thanks

My garden aprtment flooded this weekend so I didn't get a chance to crank on setting up my pc to start some theming, but I have the idea and can visualize what I wanna do, just gotta set everything up n get a couple hours of freedom to whip it up.
I will be updating the mms (the bubbles will remain, but I'm gunna switch up the black accents at the top n bottom) and dialer apks, as well as the notifications pull down for starters.

Great stuff once again Mad. This is gonna make me drop swiss cheese on the phone today. Thanks for the shoutb out brotha, you help me more than I help you bro.
Ok I'm a little confused. From what I read over at the fascinate forum, this was achieved by adding an xml and images to framework-res.apk, and adding an xml to twframework-res.apk.
but when I look at your .zip, I see a systemUI.apk that's apparently being flashed to /system/app...browsing the apk, I see that you added the images and edited the xml that would normally be in twframework-res, however I can't find the xml that would have to be added to framework-res....and a bunch of other files and folders that I didn't think would need flashed...
So I guess my question is, how did you accomplish this? I would have thought that same steps would be needed as for the fascinate, and the two framework apks would need to be edited directly. This whole systemui.apk just has me a little confused....
A little help would be much appreciated as I'm dipping my feet in to themeing...

If you could send it to him to post here that'd be great to keep them all in one post, of course if credit is given
I have a question though, does this 'break' any features flashing this over Marcusant's V7 rom?
Great job you guys are doing btw, it looks slick , giving me more and more reasons to flash to gb! Keep it up, thanks for making my phone that much better, and for your hard work guys

Ahh..my bad. Just read the link you posted...I had figured it would have been the same...so, on that note, what is exactly is systemui.apk and what purpose does it serve? Does it replace framework-res? Or is it something that wouldn't normally come with our gingerbread build and we're just adding it in there?
EDIT: just browsed through the swiss cheese ROM and I see both systemui and framework-res are present so disregard that....so the question still stands what does systemui do

[THEME PORTS] UPDATED 10/14 For Deodexed Roms WIP

So, since I retired my d1, I haven't had time to do any theme porting. I did quite a few for Droid Concepts before I moved to my D3. Anyway, Im going to start porting some themes because im a bit of a theme junkie and like to change it up quite often and with the current lack of theme choices, its time to get to work. First thing I want to do is get some feedback and see what themes the community would like to see. My guess is since all the roms are based on the same framework, the ports "should" work on most of them. I am going to pick the top 3 themes that I get feedback on. As I am new to the D3s framework, they will be a work in progress until I find where everything is at. This is the reason for choosing 3 to begin with.
So let's see what you are all interested in. IMPORTANT: please provide a link to the theme when you post so we can all see.
Known issues:
-secondary menu(menu within the menu after pushing menu softkey ie: menu>more) has black on black text
Themes voted for so far:
Stock GB
*NOTE: These are for DEODEXED ROMS ONLY
Links:
AOSP GB Beta WIP(framework only): http://min.us/lbqaA1RFWjDqL8
Honey comb WIP(framework only): http://min.us/l2ObIulM38pZX
Modified Monster ROM FW to include blacked out menu pop up: http://minus.com/lECxSAtQtMnXw
how about a stock gingerbread theme?
been awhile since I used any of the D1 themes, will have to go back and look at some.
Black and white, at least mostly.
And no metallic, like the status bar in steel droid v2
And thank you for the interest in theming for the droid 3
I got the stock gb theme almost done. Just working on a couple of things. Just framework for now though.

this is what i wanted too. if you are rooted flash MonsterROM the theme is pretty thorough throughout. no gloss or metallic or anything like that. The only thing i wish is he would black out the settings and menus with white bars instead of just making black bars.
Buck, how about a honeycomb theme?

Yeah that was one of my favorite themes from the D1. I have some red honeycomb parts in my theme right now I created.

For starters, I'm on chevycams SteelDroid 3.0 (which means already deodexed). When I installed this package, there are a few things I noticed immediately that made the phone unusable. First as you unlock the phone this error pops up: "Sorry! The process.com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.". You get a similar error for many apps. Second, you get no service (at all). Your contacts are gone, and the camera is gone. Some of these things you can easily reinstall yes, but there are some things I may not know about that may not work. Many applications have errors so you can't access them and make your force close. You can't directly access the settings menu (so no wifi, data options, etc.). Should I try installing it from stock?
