I have rooted this phone and installed xrecovery~~ And I had tried to restore custom ROM from xrecovery but it still din worked out.... My phone keep restarting showing SONY ERICSSON AND HACKDROID!!!!
PLS ASSIST PLS~~~~
So you want to install that ROM by a backup right? Anyway, you should always do a full wipe after changing ROMs (not restoring your own backups).
Make sure that you have the Latest X8 Kernel and Baseband (xx015), i had this problem too and it was for this reason.

hello my phone is on firmware 2.3.4, baseband i9000xxjvs, kernel 2.6.35.7-i9000xxjvr and build gingerbread.xxjvr.
i want to update to 2.3.5 completely but is this possible without losing all settings?
when the update is done through kies you don't lose anything so is this also possible with odin or is there another way of doing it?

No as far as i know, you could flash a no-wipe version of the rom via cwm, but i would not recommend it.
The other solution is to backup and restore with Titanium backup.
backup and restore with titanium backup is the best thing..
but as 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 differs not really you can search for a CWM-Version of 2.3.5 without wipe, than youre settings will stay. Via odin afaik its not possible to flash a non-wipe ROM..

I have done this without repartition JVQ->JVR, via Odin, and it worked.
Of course, it was: stock to stock, odexed to odexed, another combi may not work.
And, although I agree with you that titanium is the best, for some apps I experienced fc after restore, so I had to restore, uninstall, install and then make backup.
hi all i just recently formatted my bricked phone though the PCC method ..and now everything is back to stock now ..so my root acces is gone , my link2sd and it's app is gone , my xrecovery is gone , rom is gone , cmw gone cause no mod all things root based is gone so ...basically how can i recover them? must i do everything back? from root to xrecovery(since these 2 are most important)? i heard i cant flash my phone through the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19647865&postcount=13
i understand it but it seems that i followed it indirectly ..since i used the pcc method instead of his ...so is there another way to flash?
If you had saved backup with xRec or CWM, install them again and restore it. Or you can set up everything again from the beggining but it will take you some time.

betta to do it again, root with superoneclick
well..if u want to use custom ROMs again, then yes, you must start from rooting again. everytime you fix your phone through PCC/SEUS/flashtool, ur phone become like new, just the way u bought it.
Oh wait ... this is a W8?
This is the first time you mentioned this bit of info.
Well ...
You can flash your W8 with Flashtool as well - the difference to the regular E15i/E15a Xperia X8 is that the W8 comes with a slightly different ROM (aka "Walkman") and a re-versioned baseband ("E16"). Otherwise the two devices are identical twins.
This little difference is ONLY of any importance if you would want to have exactly the W8 Stock ROM version back. Since your goal is to flash FroyoPro anyway, it doesn't matter to flash back the normal X8 ROM (others actually re-flashed their phone from a W8 to a X8 to get rid of the "Walkman" parts of it).
That being said - I can't recall I ever saw a Flashtool image of the W8 stock firmware.
Anyhow, now that you got the phone recovered with PCC just grab Flashtool and start at the rooting step onward to a) root the phone, b) inject xRecovery and c) flash FroyoPro.
Thanks ya but can I flash using my w8 since my neo locked my comp with pw
I've got SE W8(E16i), with locked bootloader (not unlocked coz it date is 11W37). I rooted the device, installed busybox and xRecovery. Then I flashed the Rom GingerDX v029 using xRecovery and done a full wipe. Then after reboot my cell is stuck at Sony Ericsson Logo.
I have also tried flashing the rom using CWM and also a stock kernel over it but the result was same....
I dont want to get stucked with this Stock 2.1 update 1 firmware. It really sucks.
Firmware version 2.1-update 1
Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel Version: 2.6.29

Dude check ur download again. There are more than 5 links on the thread, make sure u downloaded v29 for stock kernel and not the one for ccustom kernel. Always full wipe when installing new rom to.prevent bootloop too
Hit thanks if it helps now just repair it using Sony mmobile update service and try agn
U can try with other stock rom
E.g. Fde+4, kuyadroid 4.5.4, froyopro 2.5
Try thier working but before that make sure that u have arranged all for recovering soft brick. My mean flashtool and .tft file
Officially corp via w8

hi guys, i have some issues during installation process. when i try to install any ROM it just dont accept it. ive followed exact instructions and checked for my version, baseband, rooted, installed xrecovery, wiped data, install rom, again full wipe and again it seems that doesnt work. i checked also for requirements, i have unlocked bootloader, have stock kernel but no lucky at all. im desperate, i dont wanna to stuck again with eclair because its poor in comparation with >2.2. i havent mentioned that earlier about 3 months ago i succed to install gingerv20 without any problem but now i cant. pls help
If you have unlocked your bootloader then why are you on stock kernel?? :what:
Flash the correct & latest nAa or alfs kernel and then the corresponding compatible rom.
Also don't do full wipe AFTER you have flashed the rom!!
Sent from my E15i using xda app-developers app
U are not mentioning that u have installed a kernel with flashtool. If you are using a Rom which requires custom kernel then you have to flash first it with flashtool
Sent from my ST26i using xda app-developers app
You better use cwm instaid of xrecovery. If you have indeed unlocked your bootloader then you can install the kernel with flashtool and the cwm will be included. Also as i have already told you see what kernel the rom works with!
hey guys, when i choosed what rom i will download, in requrement said that will work with stock kernel and i didnt flashed it. but before that rom i flashed it with flashtool to try others and also didnt work...im not that noob, i can read but im sure that i srewed something up...i'll continue to try and i'll let u know have i succed...tnx anyway
After many roms tryed i finally succed to install 'Update-GingerElite.V2', and i didnt FULL WIPED after installing it as ''cdeox8'' said, and he was right. In requrements just said that that need to be rooted, Baseband 015, Sony Ericsson Stock Kernel and that was true, but i tryed few of roms who required same things but they didnt work. Anyway im not gonna to risk anymore with roms, i like this GingerElite so im gonna keep it for the moment. When i buy other phone im goona make some experiments tnx guys anyway
I have a Z3 compact D5803, i put a custom ROM in it and it lost its signal, then i restored it back to the stock firmware and still no signal. Can anyone help please?

Did you unlock the bootloader?
There is a good guide here on how to back up your DRM keys before you experiment and loose your TA partition
Have you tried a factory reset?
Have you done a hard reset? button under flap next to sim.
Download PC companion
Follow these instructions
Possibly read a bit more before randomly flashing roms...
I have done a factory reset, and also have done a 5.1 and 4.4 SW install. I have a feeling the custom ROM corruped my EFS. Does anyone have the EFS file they can share so i can try that?

It's a simple problem really, You flashed a custom ROM, and I think the baseband of your current ROM wasn't the same as the last one and therefore you are having this "no signal problem".
Simply use the baseband of a Firmware the same version as your current custom ROM
To do this you must flash it and exclude everything except baseband.

How do i go about doing that? i just want the easiest way to get it back to working condition, i dont care about the custom rom anymore. I restored the Stock 4.4.4 on it.
so currently its on the stock 4.4.4 with the current baseband and kernel
currently the baseband is 8974-AAAAANAZQ-00022-21
Kernel 3.4.0-perf-g1b1963a-02930-g23f7791
