I've got a bluetooth headset (Nokia BH-503) which works great for calls and music.
However, I tried using it with the Teamspeak app, and found out the voice is still being recorded from the phone mic itself.
To add on this, when I try to record (with the built in app) or use voice commands - It doesn't work (It doesn't record through the mic. It just doesn't work at all.)
Is there a way to use a BT headset as a mic outside of calls? It's obviously possible, since it works on calls, but what about everything else?

So, I've been trying to use my BT headset and a voice recorder but Diamonds seems to use only its internal microphone and not BT's one. Jabra BT 3030 (dogtag) is the device I'm using. There are wireless stereo and handsfree profiles in BT settings which are both checked.
Why I can't record my voice with Jabra? Is there a software way to make it use Jabra's microphone?
Apart from this everything else (calls and streaming music) works fine.
No ideas? Anybody? I sent the problem to Jabra/HTC support but didn't get nothing concrete as an answer.
I can't believe that bluetooth device's microphone can't be used for recording?
The same thing worked on Symbian Nokia device I used before...

I tried it to make it possible to talk with voiceclips in the live messenger, trough the headset, works perfectly. Axel
Hey all,
I have HD7 and listen to music when travelling, everything works fine. But just recently I attempted to watch a film and the sound will not play through the Bluetooth headphones, it transfers the sound to the speakers? Anyone know how to change this at all??

Hi, I noticed the same issue on mine and there seems no way to change it.
I will offer a thought on why i think is happening.
On my other Android phones only the Galaxy S actually did a good job of keeping the audio and video in sync when using Bluetooth A2DP. The protocol has buffering in it so for audio its no problem but video can be tricky.
I think they just set it to not use Bluetooth for video audio to save complaints.
shame.

Hello, do you have the possibility to call a contact with the voice ( voice dialing) by the headset like on the HD1 ( and not on the HD2) ?
Thanks

I don't know whether you can activate the voice dialing using purely the headset, but you can use voice dial through a bluetooth headset. Just connect the headset and then hold down the start button until it asks you to speak. It works no matter which app you're using.
It also works without the headset.
bluetooth headphones
Hi,
To Russ, i previously had a Touch Diamond 2 and used these same headphones and it worked perfectly. I actually believe it has something to do with Zune and the player that they use?, it cant recognise that a headset is attached and therefore reverts to the speakers.
With regards to activating the voice dialing, with my bluetooth headphones which are Sony ericsson ones, it has an answer button, which when pressed with no incoming call it activates the voice dialling just as usual saying the same "Call mum".

Thank you, goood news because the HD2's bluetooth stack wasn't able to hear the voice dialing by the blutooth headset , and it only works only by the HD2's microphone.
Thank you

I am not sure if you are still looking for this, but YES, the voice dialing can be activated using the BT Headset. I have a Voyager Pro Plus and it works just fine.
As per the original thread title, I am having the same problem playing video files audio not getting transmitted via my BT Headset, So I called HTC to ask them what was the problem. They confirmed it is a software issue.
He said, it was a WP7 limitation. May be the future updates might get that feature, but right now it SUX. I am not sure how MS managed to F#$% this up. I am really Pissed. I was waiting for ever for this Headset so that I can watch my movies during my commute with the convenience of a BT Headset, now the whole purpose is lost.
When I use google navigation, I cannot get the voice to come through the bluetooth headset even though I can use the phone with the headset. I tried two different headsets, but when using the google voice navigation, the voice always come out from the Note speaker, and not the bluetooth headset.
Anyone knows how to divert the voice navigation to the bluetooth headset. I need it because when someone else is in the case talking, sometimes is hard to hear from the speaker, and it will be much clearer I can listen to the bluetooth headset.
My nokia phone was able to do that when using the Nokia map for navigation.
Goto Settings-->Bluetooth then tap OR tap and hold the Bluetooth device. You should then see a list of profiles the BT device supports. Be sure Media Audio is checked as that is how the G Nav sound is routed.

Hi i have Plantronics 903+ stereo bluetooth headset and Lg OB with zeus 6.1 rom and I have instaled Voice speed dial from Cyberon. Without bluetooth headset the Voice speed dial works fine, but with bluetooth headset connected then I press 2 sec on call button from my headset Voice speed dial start but i can't hear that beep (like my other phone Samsung galaxy mini) and the mic seems to be lock because i hear a noise in headset, and the Voice speed dial does not react at all. I try with other program for voice dial and the same result the mic don't work with voice dialer. then I receive or make a call from my phone the headset mic work fine. The same thing happens with another headset plantronics voyager 420. Please help me to solve this problem. Sorry my English.

Is no one to know a solution for voice call?
There are a lot of issues with Bluetooth in general(at least for me). I tried few different headsets and they only work for voice calls and music.
No work for voice dialling, no VOIP programs work etc.
Really frustrating.
Tried with stock ROMs, CM nightly, CM rc1, Zeus.
Something is really fishy with this phone.
I never had such issues with my old phones.
No voice dial via bluetooth headset
Yup. Me too. This sucks kinda royally. And hand held devices are illegal while driving where I live. Crud
I'm running Marvel 11 ICS Rom on a LG Optimus Black P970G and using a Motorola H520 headset.
I'm finding it mildly astonishing that so many people are having the same problem and that the developers aren't all over a solution. This must be a monster of a problem...
One more thing to add is that I rooted the phone and flashed from the factory Gingerbread. On the factory ROM, the Bluetooth headset worked just fine.
I have 2 pairs of bluetooth headphones, each with a built-in microphone. My phone (galaxy s10) however, refuses to use those microphones. When I plug in wired headphones I can use the mic without a problem.
But when I connect my bluetooth headphones, the microphone simply doesn't work. I've looked through every option but can't seem to find a way to use the microphone.
Does android10/samsung even support bluetooth microphones? Is there any option I've overlooked?
Hi,
I can confirm I am having this exact issue with Galaxy A40.
Can you tell me if recording of the Bluetooth mic works if you use the MicTest (by Laureano) app form the app store?
This works great for me. Which tells me the mics in my case (a plantronic and a jabra) both work just fine.
But when it comes to calling and using other apps (Teams, Whatsapp, Samsung voice recorder) the phone just defaults to the internal microphone.
Is there a setting missing here?
