I dont know if its a problem with my lg thrill but my auto rotate doesnt seems to work. Ive tried the web browser, all my apps, and even launcher pro. Non of them will go to landscape. Ive checked my settings to make sure its enabled and rebooted my phone with no luck. Anyone have some helpful info?
Does auto rotate work for the internet browser and other apps on anyones lg thrill? I need to know if it auto rotates for anyone so i can know if i need to exchange it.
Works just fine for me in the stock browser. Only place it doesn't work is the stock launcher.
In the gestures settings there is an option to calibrate the sensor, don't know if its the same sensor, have you tried that?
Also, there us an app in the market called Tricorder, that will show you the various sensor readings: GPS, compass, sound levels, accellerometer, orientation, etc. That might be a way to see if the sensors are giving feedback. There are probably other testing apps too on the market.

I tried an app to test accelerometer and it registered the movements. I tried recalibrating the gesture control and that didnt fix it. I did a factory reset andntht didnt work either. Its strange but no apps auto rotate. Whats even stranger is that the camera app does when viewing pictures. I verified that auto rotate was enabled. I gues i will just return the phone.
Only time tgat happen to me was after installing gl driver

So I noticed today that the google maps doesnt offer any of the "fly by" modes, cache or 3d buildings that it does on my droid X.
What gives?! Is there a way to fix this?
I'm running vegan beta 5.1 and have the 3d buildings once u zoom in far enough, however, I can't do the tilt or turn feature I have on my nexus s or the vibrant with 2.2
Wonder why? any idea if anyone is working on a fix for this?
Maybe because it doesnt have an internal GPS?
From what we can see maps is disabling some features on its own. I've been trying to mess with it when I have the time. It can be fixed I'm sure, but it will require some hacking.

got my brand new note yesterday, got a couple of issues though if anyone has any ideas.
the memo app doesn't seem to work, i get this error
the application s.memo (process com.sec.android.widgetapp.diotek.smemo) has stopped unexpectedly.
the screen does not rotate into landscape when on the homepage, only when opening an app, and then not all apps. Very annoying.
When using my bluetooth headset, I can only make calls or use voice commands if I am logged into the phone. One the screen has timed out and turned off, I can no longer do anything, which rather defeats the point in a headset and voice control if I have to get the phone out and login anyway.
I installed the firmware update when prompted, but this did not change anything.
thanks
Well the rotate is because its down to the apps to have a rotated layout and some prevent it from happening including the home launcher however you could try a third party launcher which will allow this

I've seen a lot of people having troubles with their Note after they've bought it, such as FC's, slowdowns etc, as did I.
The easiest thing you can do is perform a Factory Reset (Settings>Privacy>Factory Data Reset) which will reset the firmware to it's original state, but won't delete any data on the SD card. Just make sure you export the contacts to SD card before doing this. That fixed the slowdown problem for me, as well as some FC's in apps.
As for the rotation thing, the TouchWiz does not rotate on landscape, and some apps just ain't programmed to work in that mode. You could download some other launchers from Google Play, like the poster above me said.
Hello,
I had an OB for warranty returns, GPS does not work well. They exchanged the motherboard and that is of help. But now is not working properly autorotation. It works in certain applications, and when the on-screen keyboard. It does not work in the setting menu or in the service menu. When I run the Accelerometer, which runs in the background, everything works, even in the service menu. I think it's a software bug. Is it possible somewhere ON? I do not mean: settings / display / automatic rotation - got it is activated. I gave the ZEUS v7.06, did not help
Thank you
As I remember auto rotation didn't work in settings menu in Gingerbread ROMs.

Yes, you're right. thank you.
Rotation works in Android 2.2.2. Froyo but in Android 2.3.4.Gingerbread does not work in the internet browser and other applications.
I tried about everything already. I found that with Froyo 2.2.2 everything works correctly. When you make an update to 2.3.4. Gingerbread to my rotation works strange. E.g. the gallery is working properly. When you start the camera, does not work at all. The internet browsers only works when I open the keyboard. Etc.
It's to complain??
JuSt tested it but every app that can use rotation does it. No problems here. Currently running Zeus v7.05

Add an energy widget and activate it there. Also had this problem once.
Energy/power widget, that comes with the rom (with wifi, bluetooth toggles and so on).

hello there,
i just had an issue with an camera icon which stupidly was placed somehow underneath my dock at the homescreen.
i decided to try uninstalling the camera app so the shortcut would be removed, saved the app with titanium backup though in order to reinstall it via backup.
unfortunatelly the camera now has wrong orientation so when im in normal orientation it only shows half of the screen as if i would be in landscape mode.
i installed a camera app from google store to test if this would act normal but it doesnt as well.
any idea how to fix this ?
thanks
hey i fixed it by restoring philz backup , still would be interesting to know about the cause of this issue because i had this with my note 3 also until i flashed another rom.

Find an app that's can lock apps rotation and set it to landscape. I had the same problem
Same thing happen to me start last night, I tried few different camera app, works fine in google's camera app, word lens, but camera zoom is same problem as sony's camera app.
my guess is that one of the rotation function didn't able to call the position function, not able to reset or clear the memory,
is there a way to reset the camera app? I don't think restore backup will fix it, if the backup is already went bad.
Doesnt seems to be working on MXP. Does it needs root ? or am I doing something wrong ?
Tasker needs root. It wont work without it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.crape.rotationcontrol
Use aforementioned app it also work on non rooted device and work perfectly fine.

I made this today with macrodroid by flipping the device upside down (autorotate on and off) it works a lot easier ,but dont know if you must be rooted for this trigger.
Language is in dutch but you can look at the icons to recognize below .

Tasker works perfectly without root except for few options. I had to adjust some preference inside tasker which enabled this autorotate on launch of specific apps feature.
I have a very related question... What app would allow me to have a rotating gallery? Just the gallery and nothing else.
Phone is unrooted and I use gallery often, so it's a hassle having to turn on and off autorotate everytime!
