Searching for an on/off Data-Connection app...

I´m looking for an app which easily let me swtich between Data-Connection on/off.
I´ve tested APN on/off widget and one which is called Toggle Data.
Both start and stop the data-connection correctly, but a few seconds after stopping the connection starts again, think thisis a HD2 specific problem, because these apps work with other phones.....
Has anyone found an app which works with the HD2 LEO?

there is a widget pre-installed that's called power control, i use it to turn on/off wifi, data, gps, and display light. I don't know if every build has it.

The build that i use has no widget called power control.....

There's plenty of widgets for this on the Market. Just do a search on there for things like "power control" or "control widget" etc..
I use SwitchPro. It's a paid app, but only cheap. It's VERY configurable and I highly recommend it.

I have tested Switch Pro.
When I try to enable/disable data connection, nothing happens.....

Are you using Gingerbread? I only ask because Gingerbread doesn't play nicely with some apps, and I found a lot of the toggles didn't work with Switch Pro on Gingerbread. I'm back to Froyo now and they all work perfectly.

Hi,
I use data enabler, its free to download from the market. It does not allow to turn off/on data connection, but it takes you to mobile network menu and with widget placed on home screen you get fast accsses to it. Works on Gingerbread without problem.

I recommend Quick Settings free from the market,does the job nicely.

Check on Market 'CurveFish'
Go to market and type in 'curvefish' They have a bunch or widget toggle switches for free. The one you will be interested in is their 'APN OnOff' app.
*Edit* Tried it, your right, turns off and then back on again. Sorry.

Agree -...it´s free and works perfect for me! (Rafdroid 2.3)

Try widgetzoid, it can do that and much more, one of my must have apps!

Apndroid works best for me, especially combined with 3g watchdog, makes sure i can't go over my limit

No auto rotate?

I dont know if its a problem with my lg thrill but my auto rotate doesnt seems to work. Ive tried the web browser, all my apps, and even launcher pro. Non of them will go to landscape. Ive checked my settings to make sure its enabled and rebooted my phone with no luck. Anyone have some helpful info?

Does auto rotate work for the internet browser and other apps on anyones lg thrill? I need to know if it auto rotates for anyone so i can know if i need to exchange it.

Works just fine for me in the stock browser. Only place it doesn't work is the stock launcher.
In the gestures settings there is an option to calibrate the sensor, don't know if its the same sensor, have you tried that?
Also, there us an app in the market called Tricorder, that will show you the various sensor readings: GPS, compass, sound levels, accellerometer, orientation, etc. That might be a way to see if the sensors are giving feedback. There are probably other testing apps too on the market.

I tried an app to test accelerometer and it registered the movements. I tried recalibrating the gesture control and that didnt fix it. I did a factory reset andntht didnt work either. Its strange but no apps auto rotate. Whats even stranger is that the camera app does when viewing pictures. I verified that auto rotate was enabled. I gues i will just return the phone.

Only time tgat happen to me was after installing gl driver

WIUI 2.5.25 Stable (GB) questions

Hello, i was wondering if you can help me.
sorry for the newbie questions, but i am new to rooting, flashing etc.... and i have occurred a problem with WIUI 2.5.25 Stable (GB).
I have installed this ROM, everything is working smooth, but i cannot install anything from the market, well, actually i can, but when it finishes, the application Launcher gives an error, which then will ask if i want to force close or report. If i choose force close, it continues to display that message again and again until i uninstall the app.
This happens with every app, i have also tried compatibility mode on/off, doesn't resolve anything. Also tried the Apexl auncher addon .... again same problem.
One more question, is there no app drawer in this ROM ? and if there is one, how can i access it ? i have seen app drawer options in the control panel, but i really cant see how to open it.

Did you do full wipe before flashing this rom?
No application drawer in this rom becasue this is miui base rom miui rom is famous in its iphone like rom like iphone there's no app drawer

yes i have wiped 3 times before flashing this rom....
Good to know that there is no app drawer, i was confused by the option in the control panel .

note: it did not work with re-flashing the same ROM ...
but after flashing another ROM and re-flashing this one it finally works, don't really know what was the problem, but now is working good, as much as i had the time to test some of the features.

so, i have been using the ROM for 1 day so far, everything is working OK for the moment, but can't really resolve one issue :
How do i keep the touch key's light on 100uA ? i added the app for touch key lights, but when the phone goes to sleep, it restores to 2000 uA. Also i had disabled the pulse notifications but sadly it still doesn't work.
is there any setting where i can dim the brightness of touch keys to be permanent ?

Search for lg optimus 2x touch key lights in google play even if it sleeps the settings still applied

I said in the previous post that i have installed that app, but it doesn't stay applied. First i thought it's because of pulse notifications, but even with those disabled, when the phone goes to sleep, when i wake it up the keys light up with maximum brightness.

CM7.2 Vs stock rom and questions

did u know if in cm7 for lg optimus 2x the xt9 for greek language is working ?
Gives anything better from the stock rom (if you note that the crup lg puted donest annoy me) ?
and if it has crashes , no idea why it might be cause by my task killer that is in auto killingmode
Is it easy to move my apps and data to the cm7 ?

I use CM72 and love it. It's so much better and stable. Kernel I use ETANA loc. It boosts CPU speed to merely 1.2GHz. Very stable and rock solid. No crashes so far. GPS locks in seconds. RIL 725 from v20d ASIAN version since I'm in Indonesia. It's been much better than other RIL so far.

no idea what ril i have the bb idont remember it
im afraid of the t9 in the keyboard maybe doesnt exist for greek
and i also want thre pollaris app or thinkfreeonline app

i installed but now im removing it.
1st of all no greek dictionary
2nd no google apps even the ones iinstalled they didnt show up
3rd titanium backup didnt worked , especialy with contacts

1. Install a different Keyboard. I highly recommend SwiftKey but there are other great keyboards too. This shouldn't be an issue.
2. Did you install the gapps for CM7.2? This installs Google applications such as the Market, Gmail, Talk, etc.
3. Use a different application for that. I use GoBackup to backup that stuff. There are probably much better apps for that but as long as it works I can't complain.
4. You should relax a bit, you do sound a little bit angry.

whaT apps ? go backup is better than titanium? it auto installs the application automatically, i mean without to pres any button ?
the hdmi is working in cyanogen?
google play doesnt work , google + lso, gmail doesnt start , how it's called inside this 2#@#@#@ contancts they are just dont show any contacts , accountsa no accoubnts there ?
cm7.2 isnt gingerbread?
if i recover using nandroid , only the data partition it will work or i will have crashes?

GoBackup isn't better than Titanium backup but you can backup your contacts etc. on there. You just have to restore the backup once you flash cm7.2.
Why doesn't Google Play work? Either you installed the wrong gapps or you did something wrong while installing cm7. Try the following gapps; http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
You don't have any accounts? Then add a Google account. Once your phone boots after installing the gapps it should ask you to add a Google account. Just follow the steps. Once that's done start the Market once and close it. It'll take a few minutes eventually to update itself to the Play Store. Once the icon changes you're ready to use Google Play.
Cm7.2 IS gingerbread. It's based on GB 2.3.7.

did you follow the instructions to wipe all before flashing? u must flash gapps too. Keyboard, I'm using swype and swiftkey. Swiftkey has greek if I'm not wrong. Not sure about swype. Never liked the stock keyboard anyway.
My contacts work flawlessly and even sync with friendcaster's contacts. Titanium also works great. I keep changing back and forth between CM72 and Paranoid Android. But for everyday, I use CM72. If I want to try ICS custom rom, I use PA. I backup n restore nandroid regularly. As for the data and the apps, I use titanium to backup and then after flashing new rom, I restore back from titanium. Everything works great. Except that CM72 is not ICS. I luv ICS.

That's strange. Why do they crash? They're not supposed to crash at all. I think you did something wrong while installing your ROM or the Gapps. Have you tried fixing the permissions? You can do that in the ROM Manager app or in the recovery menu.

i tihnk i tried the fixing permisions .
now im recovering the data nandroid backup from stock iwant to see what happens. it will crash?

I use CM7.2 with the Etana stock kernel and love it.
I have one and only one gripe - When I press the power button after the phone is in idle, it takes 1-2 seconds before my lockscreen appears. This lag can be quite annoying but otherwise the phone performs great.
Does anyone else experience the delay when waking up the phone from idle?

the calendar app is crashing like hell
ok the swiftkey or how do u call them are free and also addfree ?

No. I didn't experience that. But sometimes I need to clear the memory. I use ics theme from go launcher that has memory management. Can't remember the name. When the memory is dark red, I just press broom icon to clean up most memory. Then it works fast again.

You can set the maximum "screen off" CPU speed in apps such as PimpMyCPU and MyrtOTF. That'll most likely fix your problem. Setting it to 216MHz for example consumes less power but your screen needs a bit longer to turn on. Set it to a higher value and you'll be able to turn your screen on quickly. If that's not the case, check whether your RAM is sufficient or not. Use a task killer to clean up your RAM a bit.

No, SwiftKey isn't free but still the best keyboard imho. That was just a recommendation, you can get a different keyboard of course.

You can't restore it via Titanium. You'll have to look for a port but there are so many better keyboards than LG's stock keyboard. Just check some out on the market.

Tasker - Autorotate on specific apps.

Doesnt seems to be working on MXP. Does it needs root ? or am I doing something wrong ?

Tasker needs root. It wont work without it.

I made this today with macrodroid by flipping the device upside down (autorotate on and off) it works a lot easier ,but dont know if you must be rooted for this trigger.
Language is in dutch but you can look at the icons to recognize below .

Tasker works perfectly without root except for few options. I had to adjust some preference inside tasker which enabled this autorotate on launch of specific apps feature.

I have a very related question... What app would allow me to have a rotating gallery? Just the gallery and nothing else.
Phone is unrooted and I use gallery often, so it's a hassle having to turn on and off autorotate everytime!
