50% of the roms out there right now can oc to 2GHz now lol, but it usually only causes issues and doesn't seem much faster than 1.4-1.5 imho. I find performance at it's best without OC though..

It's like having a huge-ass and expensive car when you only have a small ****, the potential is there, but you're just over-compensating.
Be happy with what you have, go for what you need, salivate over what you want, but by all means never try to over-compensate.

I have a doooooaal core Sensation that I can OC to 2Ghz.... AND I haz a parakeet that can (and will) throw pretzels at you!

and the reason why it doesn't SEEM as fast is because your phone will only seem as fast as your ram actually is.. all that processing speed (jelly)... no smoothness (toast)
Virus' new eternity rom is a perfect example of that. he optimized the ram, using stock kernel, and my phone is smoother and runs better than it was when i was overclocked.

in antutu looked, well, at least up to 960MHz, near the 902 and now everything is stable, but want more
They also did something 921 or 979
I can't get more than 845Mhz because it hangs or reboot.
Sent from my GT-S5830B using XDA
previous ketut kernel were able to OC much more than 902 but were not stable for most of users.. very few lucky CPU's got some speed and they might be amongst them..
if OC get stable at 960 then ketut might update blackhawk kernel..
if you are so eager to get OC then download sources mod them and try if it works

That 960MHz would be unstable as hell. I'm sure that guy overclocked just for the bench. Even though he got a good CPU, reboot may still happen..

Why I built my own PC and why you should try it too **Ask Any Related Questions**

I built my first PC, and it was one of my goals to accomplish before the end of the world in December came:silly:
I decided to try it cause I was pretty good at the software side of PCs, but not Hardware. Honestly, I am so so so so glad I did this because it was such a fun experience AND I saved a lot of money on the way. Here are my specs:
Motherboard: Asus P6X58D-E
CPU: Core i7 950
RAM: 12GB Triple channel Mushkin DDR3
GPU: Sapphire Radeon 5850
HDD: 500GB WD Caviar Blue. 7200RPM
PSU: 850 watt Corsair TX850
DVD: Asus 24X DVD Write/Reader
Case: Antec One Hundred Lite
How long it took: 4 Days including the time to go and buy parts
Brand new parts or Used parts: EVERYTHING was used, except the case. This is the best thing you can do when on a budget because Computer parts work the same whether new or used, and they cost a heck of a lot cheaper
How much it cost me: $530(Seriously):laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Why YOU should try it: It is a very rewarding experience, you get to know your own PC(Like a pet XD) And you don't have to call that "Tech Guy" more often to solve problems with your PC.
Building a new PC not only gave me a fun time and save some money, but it also enabled me to get the components more than enough to play 2012 games in High to Ultra Settings.
Share your experiences/questions below, and I will try my best to answer them
Thats a nice setup but I think this thread might get locked. Only because there are already a few threads about building PCs in OT already.

Anybody who has a rooted, custom ROM flashed Android and has a brand name, prebuilt PC should really have his head examined
Building your own PC is very easy, and as the OP said, can be very rewarding. And it's a great experience if you're doing it for the first time. Heck, i'm building PCs since i was 13. Overclocked my first one when i was 12 .
Nothing to be scared of, just do it carefuly and choose the components for the build wisely
But I really do not get why people overclock their i7s, they are beast processors and most of them stay below 20% when playing games like BF3, Crysis, etc
Oh and I am getting 56 degrees Celsius at idle, is that normal? Also I have put it the heatsink back and forth many times.

So you're using the stock heatsink? And you should really get a tube of thermal paste. It's what helps transfer the heat from your CPU to the heatsink.
