Hi punshkin,
right now what i am searching for. My LV is now 1 1/2 day old and i am very busy . So i will follow you now and possible i can help with stuff.
But 1st ThankYou

i am glad you like it
as of now there is nothing you could help me with...just tell me when you find a graphic/icon that is off so i can fix it
have fun with your new LiveView

YES! This is a great theme! I love it. Makes my new liveview look so much better. Thank you!

Up to date?
How up to date is your 'hacked' app? I installed it on my xperia pro and it works quite good, but I'm not sure what will happen when sony releases newer versions? (also leaked LiveView 2 - maybe there well be future incompatible firmware releases)

Hi,
my themed App is on par with the latest official release.
As for future versions: i always try to update the theme to the latest available version. (Latest update was August 2011 so don´t worry about an update coming soon :S )
LiveView 2 i can not say anything at all. We dont know if it will be an extra display like LiveView 1 or a seperate device like MotoActive.
If i get the LiveView 2 and feel the need to theme it i will release it for sure

Thank you for such a great theme, makes what was only a week ago such a poor device much better.

This is pretty sweet awesome man, Thanks! Is there anything else that can be done to these to make them cooler? I just got one yesterday and I have been searching around online and so far, this is the only mod I can find.

oops a little late, but maybe still usefull.
There are a few guys on XDA that try to make their very own app to comunicate with live view, by analyzing the protocoll etc. cant find it atm though
another thing is that i have a 2nd theme for it which is black and white (see signature)

Don't be afraid punshkin,
you are not alone, because i am with you all the time from up the beginning.
And yes, yesterday i have charged my liveview after a loooong time.
Because there was a new firmware update, sonyt says. I dont know,
but i have updated it anyway.
Right now i was searching for some stuff around the world...
The thread that you means is:
LiveView reverse-engineering effort -> Link
I was following that thread for a while and i have running the
latest update right now, and a wonder happens to me. That
apk, i mean service , is running very well.
And yes, i have both of your skins on my bakup server placed .
Hope i/we can see more, possible an ICS skin?
BTW:
some nice clocks for it...
Update:
this is the link to the open source for the thread LiveView reverse-engineering effort

Kaiser support for Device Update.

Hi all,
After finishing off v2 of Device Update for the Hermes, I'm looking at making it more compatible with other devices. The next on my list is the Kaiser
Could I get a few people to message me to try a new version of Device Update that should work correctly (and not show Hermes only apps) on the Kaiser.
For those wondering what Device Update is, check out:
http://www.crc.id.au/deviceupdate
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470440
Thanks.
EDIT: I've had someone test it on Kaiser and all should be well...
That being said, I've attached v2.0.7.8 to this post for all of you to test
Havent heard of it till now, but looks great. Bring it on! (to the kaiser I mean )
Also what makes this much different than App2Date? (asking because I know someone will at some point)

Lots.
#1 - I do the hosting for your apps. I've served nearly 800 apps in the last 6 hours or so.
#2 - People can browse the index of software.
#3 - Automatic updates is only a side effect - but a major bonus.
#4 - Custom written geo-location based mirroring gives the user the fastest speeds no matter where they are on the planet
#5 - everything between the servers & clients is compressed - this means faster transfers and less data transfer.
And there's probably more
So when is this going to be avail?????
Nice one mate.
Count me in for a bit of testing
Feel free to shout me for anything you need.
Thanks

For those interested, I've attached a copy of v2.0.7.8 as a beta test on the Kaiser.
In theory all should work. If not, please reply to this thread.

Awesome - good to hear.
I'm in the middle of writing some documents for ROM cooks and developers on how everything works within DU so it can be included in peoples ROMs and also how people can make their CABs DU compatible...
Hopefully I'll be able to get something finalised real soon. DU has pretty much become standard in all ROMs for Hermes
works like a champ on my tilt....Great job on this app! Does this also tell what you already have installed and can update that?

Yes and no. All packages installed via DeviceUpdate will show if an update is available. You will see this as a category up the top labeled "Available Updates". We don't however have a way of tracking if an application is installed from another source - as we use registry entries to track packages.
This means it is possible to see an app on the Device Update index that is already installed from a different source. At the moment, we leave this up to the user to detect.
thanks for the response. You did a great job on this app!
Only thing i cant figure out is where the themes go when i download them...or are they not m2d themes? Only one i downloaded was the flat black theme and for the life of me i cant find it. I just got it to test that it worked as well. Ive already got over 20 themes so i dont need it But i even used the search on the phone and cant find it.
The themes are standard Windows Mobile themes - not M2D themes.
Ok cool. Im sure thats why it didnt work then. So i cant find any bugs. Great job. If you want you can pull the themes from my 4shared folder. They are all m2d
Fantastic application.
I was using this in my HTC Touch (ELF) before.
I just bought a Kaiser (TYTN II) and installed the latest Device Update into it.
Tried installing "HTC Home Customizer" and a few other apps but evertime get a error "WCELoad Returned Code: 2147024891".
What is this error code and how can i fix it and let Device Update install apps in my Kaiser.

APP drawer orginizer?

My girl and i both have G1s. Her phone uses DXtop and is not rooted. Her DXtop has the ability to orginize APPs in her APP drawer. I have been looking everywhere and cant find anything that alows my rooted G1 to do the same. Is there anything out there that can manage APPs in the drawer on a rooted G1 running cyan 4.0.4?

Advanced launcher is a home replacement. I'm interested in a theme or application that is not running over my original home but allows the APP drawer to be customized. Besides, it also states that it is not usable with Cyan 4.0.4. Any other ideas?

its not a home replacement like dxtop....it actually replaces the one you have
did you even read the op properly?
I'm confused by myself. So here's the description: u17 ist still the old version for cupcake releases. There is a standalone and a replacement. Both are for cupcake based builds.
Then there ist v2.0.1. It's the new version. It's for donut based builds. And it's currently only the replacement version, standalone will come.
So don't use v2.0.1 on cupcake based builds (like cyanogen's 4.0.4 stable) and don't use u17 or u17_replacement on donut based builds (like the cyanogen experimental branch).

i know what you mean xD
yesterday i spent 3 hours debugging another teams program. they had 6000 SLIC and it crashed on run time. I figured what the hell, im up for a challenge. well the whole program crashed because of one letter
fliers instead of flier
both flier and fliers were valid so it compiled fine but crashed when it was run. the exception being thrown was nowhere near (in a completely unrelated class) where the error was and the debugger on eclipse missed it completely.
turns out, the guys made bets on how long it would take me to find it. (i beat all their wagers. i told them to give me the pot or id report their asses. see, im super productive XP )
because of that diversion, i didnt get my team to finish their project so i made them stay after xD

LOL. Yea one lil letter, number, space, or character and that throws everything off. I've had to go thru line by line studyin everything to see whats been wrong and after awhile everything just blurs together. Luckly I'm workin on a couple different projects that use arbortext which makes everything alot easier. But there's those times arbortext messes up and its back to lookin at the code in text pad or word pad and wow you already know how that is.

lots of Android Builds?!!

hi guys first of all i'd like to thank every1 working on this great project which will definitely be the primary operating system for lots of x1's out there.
second, i'd like to ask a question since there r lots of android builds out there,
i'd like to know which one has the most features working?
and what is still not working on all of the builds?
another thing, Android 2.2 will be available in less than w week and they say it's going to be 450% faster than the previous build, is there a chance that it'll be ported to x1 too?
sry for all these questions but I've been away for a while and i'm really interested on using android on my X1.
Thanx In Advance

Oooooh a new leak! Let us know if you notice anything new.
Ok, Froyo 2.3.15 and Tranquility 2.3.5rc installed smoothly, but when I tried applying Onix Gala X theme from ROM Manager, I got stuck at the M logo. Battery pull solved the issue. So I'll try applying the theme manually.
I haven't noticed anything new so far from the short time I spent browsing around the phone. I'm dying to see the change logs lol!
Edit: manually installing Gala X theme worked =)
Edit2: I'm not sure if it was true for 2.3.13, but in this one Flash shows up in the Market.
In the market for 2.3.13 too, noticed it today .

Yes... that is exactly what I did.
Okay... Not trying to sound like an ass but this has been eating away at me for a good twelve hours or so....
You are paying for an app. Cool idea in my opinion.
You are also paying for access to mods. Not unheard of.(supporting is good)
Lots of hype for access to something no one else has.
Using the hype to, in a way, make people donate for your work that is kind of iffy. I like what those guys are trying to do but I do not like how they are doing it. I just can't quite hit on the point I am trying to make but I feel something scetchy is going on here. Thus, I go back to... Paying for an app that creates access to what they are making. Cool idea in my opinion.
God I hope I don't get flamed to hard for this.... Trying hard not to be a Debbie Downer.
Those that are satisfied with the Tranquility roms will likely donate. Although I do believe the leak itself should be available to the general public.

Dude I understand you have your opinion, but if you don't want to support, then you may just have to wait for someone else to find a leak source in one of the MOST locked down firmware arenas for android, TBH is doing an amazing job! THREE 2.2 updates before motosuck released its first!? They deserve the two bucks for the app. Mind you this is coming from a person who has only purchased one app for his droid x; the one we are talking about. Besides with all the C&D motosuck has been throwing around this is a resonable alternative to insure we get the content we want. OH! And not to mention tranquility is one of the best alternatives to motoblur out right now, $2 seems like a VERY small price to pay for no hassle dl's and quick update potential. Thank you again Team Black Hat for all the hard work! I see kernel's in the near future.... Wahoo!

Wahoo!

Totally understand your point of view as well. Its all good man.
I hear there is a new leek out. It's called the A.S.S.A.S 500. Saw a tweet about it somewhere.... lol

No, you don't have to. When asked about new change log on twitter, P3Droid said he'll provide it when he releases Tranquility to everyone. So my understanding is he'll make it available to general public soon.

So instead of charging for something that might possibly be construed as _his_ work, he's really just charging for Motorola's software that he paid someone to steal from them. Classy move.

[SOLVED] Black GTALK

Hello everybody ...
Cud someone please give me a stepwise breakdown on if/how I could get gtalk to have a black theme
(or give me a link to a black gtalk apk that I could use to replace the stock one ) ?
I did search before posting this thread.. and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821214
but that OP's just stating tht the gtalk app inside another ROM is black in color.
I'm sure this has been asked / done before, and if it has, please don't hammer me...
It's just that I am new to android, and some of the google results i got for 'black gtalk app' said some scary sounding things like deodexed (?)
And - I haven't rooted my Nexus S yet (yes, i know.. i'm a bit scared still.. )
Help please?
All you had to do is go to the second page.
On the second page of that thread posted by Jack_R1

(Unsure if it works on Gingerbread)
And you'll most likely need Root for this to work since google talk is a .apk within /system/app/
/system/app/ cannot be modified unless you're rooted.
Rooting is relatively simple on Nexus S, don't be scared

Uh-ohhh...you wouldn't believe the silly sheepish smile i have on my face now
woops...sorry for noticing that! :$
Since I will probably have to root my phone for this ... i'll wait to get one of my friends with more divine android skills to sit with me thru it
(don't ask -- years of "trying" to jailbreak iPhones has built up this weird phobia of hacking, and has put fears like: "oh noes! what if it goes wrong?" in my head)
I'll come around though, i hope
and thanks again, Zephik ...

Haha okay. But if you don't want to wait for your "friend" to do it for you, here's a guide here to get you started towards rooting.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895545
It's relatively simple
Yes- thanx again! I've read through those a few times and all the positive responses from 'first timers' have been tempting me a lot.
I'm actually waiting for the phone to launch officially in Dubai (rumored to happen in the week after next), and then I think I'll become a bit more brave to fiddle with it..
but if i muster enough courage before that, I'll definitely follow that guide ..
(psst: please be on standby with some emergency XDA paramedics, in case you hear me yelping, after a not so successful rooting attempt )

You have any idea if it's going to be a I9020 or I9023? There's reports of I9023 rooting of not completely working. Something about cache partition, I'm sure it'll get fixed.

I'm inclined to think it'll be the Super Clear LCD one .. because the Dubai/UAE market seems to be like a Singapore-market follower .. and the SLCD version has just been announced there..
The SAMOLED is partly why I'm happy that I went through some bit of trouble (and a LOT of worrying) to get my NexS delivered safely from Austin..
But boy am I in love with it!
I dont think anyone's been able to pry it out of my hands since it landed (touchwood)
And, like you said... I'm sure the i9023 would get rooted soon enough by folks here
[maybe Google could just officially link to the XDA as their main 'user support forum' .. ]
I was able to push the gtalk and the google voice to the Nexus S. I have it installed on the nightly cm7 #26. The google voice is working but the gtalk is failing to connect to the server.
i was able to install but it hangs on a black screen where my contacts should be but nothing displays. theres also the refresh circle in the top right that keeps going. then if i selct anything via menu button push and go back it force closes on me.
Can someone tell me why is it marked as SOLVED when it does not work on the nexus S? I want this feature badly, if anyone has any idea pls share.

I totally agree but there is a solution now for sure. DARKGINGER NEW 4/5/11 DarkGapps4511.zip this is just gapps for the people not using the nightlies. These work on any HDPI phone running Gingerbread! THIS HAS WORKING DARK GTALK.
