3g or E not turning off when I turn on Wi-Fi

This problem started happening this evening for no reason.
Normally when I turn on Wi-Fi 3g turns off. But for some reason this evening when I turn it on the e or 3g is staying on even though I have full Wi-Fi signal( sitting next to it).
anyone any ideas how to fix this.

Maybe try wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache...
Are you on a custom rom?
Did you try a reboot?
You sure net trough wifi was not off?

Activate wifi and go to http://www.hostip.info/ from the phone to see what network interface the phone uses, if it's the 3G one it's probably the phone having problem detecting internet through the wireless router for some reason, if it's the wifi something is messed up im afraid.
Not sure where in the rom it's defined to shut it off when wifi is detected.

[Q] Wifi tethering on ICS AOKP and CNA

I:ve tried both CNA and AOKP ports. everything seems fine but for wifi tethering it sucks. I mean when I turn portable hotspot on it says turning on wifi. it gets stuck on that but when I press back or home and go back it's checked. the thing is there's no status bar icon or notif saying that wifi tethering is active or what. my other phone can detect the hotspot. but can't really connect. one more thing wifi is ok I can see networks and connect to them normally. any ideas? is it a known issue? on cm9 its fine though
edit: tried barnacle wifi. I get an error sayinng cant establish ssid for wlan0

[Q] WiFi Tether Root app not working

Hello,
I have been trying to get WiFi Tether Root working on my HTC One but it doesn't seem to want to work. I have watched the video for it and the HTC One for Sprint and the settings he used don't work for me. He did try to support me in the Youtube comments but nothing seemed to work. I did find a WiFi tether app that does work but the phone gets so hot it eventually shuts the WiFi hotspot off. That app is WiFi Tether Router. I have also tried FoxFi and PDANet+ neither seem to work.
Does anyone know how to get WiFi Tether Root working on the HTC One with laptops and Android tablets? Below is the troubleshooting I have already done.
I have the current version of WiFi Tether Root - TrevE Mod
I have tried Device Profiles: Auto, Generic, Generic ICS/JB (wlan0), Generic ICS/JB (wlan1), and others
Enable WiFi Encryption is off
WiFi-driver reload is turned on
With any of these settings the WiFi hotspot turns on, the download and upload sections of the application show no data flowing through or very little. Normally stopping at around 24 Kb download and 124 Kb upload.
Does anyone has a working configuration for this app? Does anyone know of a rom that has the native WiFi hotspot app service check disabled? Or a WiFi Tethering app that works without overheating the phone?
I also tried the fix described in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2266268
Turned on MMS clamping and Routing fix. Still no data going through.
I have the exact same problem as OP. Pretty frustrating. I figure I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what it is or how to fix it. I haven't tried the other tether apps. If you fix it, please post here with your settings and hopefully it will work for me.
Try and install a custom Rom the stock Rom might have disabled WiFi tethering via 3rd party apps

Try this...HERE it worked for me.

WiFi internet isn't stable

Do you experience every now and then that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi, but unable to connect to the internet? My temporary solution is disabling then enable WiFi again, then it works. This never happened on my s3 before.

That happened to me a few times the first day I had the phone. I wasn't sure if it was my router or what. But it never happened again. It could also be that I turned wifi calling off right after that so not sure if it was related or just a one time blip. If you have wifi calling on, turn it off and see if it happens again.
