Almost stock ROM question - HTC Incredible S

I have a Bell Incredible S. Rooted and installed Cyanogen last week. I've used Cyanogen on about 4 different devices now and have never really played with any stock roms. Main reason for not doing that is the crap/bloatware the carriers install.
So my question is, are there any Stock roms available with carrier software removed that you can suggest for my Bell model?
TIA

Once you have rooted your phone, you can use titanium backup to remove any & all of the bloatware/crapware you want. on any stock rom as well

Arhd is like an optimized stock ROM..
It's really awesome

World wide English. It is stock, unbranded. I've been running it on my Bell IncS since it came out this summer.

Thanks!

[Q] What do I need to do to move from 2.1 XXJG1 to offical euro 2.2?

Hi All,
I an currently running a rooted version of 2.1. The build number is ECLAIR.XWJG1.MCR-r2.
The baseband version is I9000XXJG1.
I would like to upgrade to the official 2.2 Euro rom.
What do I need to do? I am concerned that if I just upgrade, I will brick it.
Anyone? Help
Um...use KIES.

It's a rooted version of the Modaco custom rom.
I am guessing that I will encounter problems if I try to use Kies. I am in Ireland so the UK firmwares would apply to me.

[Q] Root and S off on 2.3.6

I had turned my Incredible S to S off and rooted. Will I lose them if I upgrade to official 2.3.6?

1. This question should have been posted in the General section. This is not a development topic.
2. The latest upgrade is Android 2.3.5/Sense 3.0, not Android 2.3.6
3. How did you gain S-OFF on your IncS? Did you use the Revolutionary tool? If so then yes you will root if you attempt to apply the update.
Since you are S-OFF, why don't you just flash one of the custom Sense 3.0/3.5 ROMs?
Thanks very much. I do not remember how I root and S off it because I tried many ways and at one point it just did. Which rom you recomand?

I don't use a custom ROM, so I won't recommend one. I am running the latest 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 rooted.

Does that mean i can't get Custom Firmware for are HTC Raiders????!
Hey I just got my friends HTC Raider from Rogers running Holics last weekend. I had to go the LONG way around.
S-Off -> CID Changed to 11111111 -> Relock bootloader -> Install BM Ginger Bread RUU -> Install BM ICS RUU -> Holics 0.8
Works FINE. I thought everyone else knew.
I could throw together a manual if someone wants to go through it with me.
I rather have official Rom first than custom roms..

So stop once you get to ICS install.

Not sure why you would want a carrier ROM. Rogers is known for all the craptastic bloatware they put in their ROMs, and the updates are slow. Just get one of the stock RUU based ROMs. It's the same thing the carriers base their ROMs on, but no bloat

I'll look on that. Thanks for enlightening me..

For one, it's the only way to get the proper radio for your device-carrier combination.
U agree with you..

So still no official Rogers ICS update yet? I'm looking to pickup a Raider for my wife, but the only ones I can find are Rogers and we're with Bell. I'd get an unlocked one to use, but I don't want to have to go wiping the phone again if there isn't already ICS on it for her to learn/use.

The AT&T ICS RUU seems to work fine, as I've been running it for months. Also, more to the point, I meant more why he would want to STAY with the carrier ROM. I understand the purpose of upgrading to the carrier ROM in order to gain the specific radio or HBOOT you need, but after that, drop it like it's hot.
Still no update?

You need at least to be unlocked, but i don't think you can flash whatever rom you want...

If you flash a totally stock ROM, it'll be stock, not rooted.
You will need to unlock and install a custom recovery. Mike1986 has a stock ROM thread.
Yep
SKY GO will not work on a rooted phone

S-off with different firmware / rom

Ok what's the risk... I'm running Android revolution ver 31. I haven't updated my firmware. I'd prefer not to have to flash a whole different ROM to gain S-off if in can avoid it. I know it's recommended to be on same firmware and ROM base, but what's the risk of just S-offing like I am?

But, wait, you have the s-off or not?
And what do you want do?

No I don't have it yet but I'm running a ROM based on 3.62xxxx firmware but haven't updated my firmware to that yet because I don't have soff.
Wondering if I'm running a risk with ROM and firmware not matching when I attempt to soff.

Yep, you need to be on the same base, and the closest possible to your own rom. Just restore your stock nandroid and you'll be good to go
