Anyone know what happened to the Noise cancellation mic setting in Gingerbread 2.3.3. I thought it used to be under Settings>Call settings>Voice call.
If it has been removed then...
When you are on a call and Not on speaker (just call your voicemail to test this), tap the menu key and you should see the option for the "Noise Reduction Off" or "Noise Reduction On".
Thanks for the suggestion but when I press the menu button during a call, all I get are options for memo and contacts. Can't seem to find noise cancel options anywhere.
Which ROM are you running?
Just the stock Rogers Gingerbread rom uxkh2??
Are u checking for this with the Speaker Off ??
U should have 3 options when on a call and u press the menu button... Contacts, Memo and the (either) Noise Reduction On/Off
U can see this same thing with the speaker on, but u just cannot toggle the On or Off.
And this is what I have on the stock ki2. Not sure of why it is not there on KH2 / or where else it may be.
.
Check it with speakwr on and off. I ony get options for contacts and memo. Nothing else shows up.

Does anyone know how to increase the volume with voice commander? and also the ringer volume. I can hardly hear the voice commander and I cant hear the phone ring...
I have the same problem
I tried several registry settings, but the ringtone volume is very low now and can't set it back to original even if setting microsoft voice command to not to speak the incoming caller id...
Anybody out there... help !!!
I think I figured this out by accident. I'm using v2.17 and have a Cardo Scala 500 headset.
To make this simple, I'll refer to the volume controls as left and right; the left side being the pda volume and the right side being the ringer volume.
When not on a call, both volume controls are visible. When on a call, the left side disappears. This is probably by design. Unfortunately, the right side volume control appears to do nothing for me when I'm on a call. I found if I turn up the left side volume way up when I'm not on a call, the Microsoft voice is very loud and almost distorted when I listen through the BT headset. But when the call is made, volume returns to an good level and is clear.
When I first got my phone, I kept my left side volume low because I didn't like hearing all the click-click-click when using the stylus. I could barely use the phone because the volume through the headset was so low. No matter what I did, I couldn't get a good volume through the headset.
Now I keep the pda volume very high so I don't have to fumble with the phone to boost the volume right before answering a call. Calls are clear even if the Microsoft voice is a bit distorted and loud when setting up the call.
I was hoping this might be fixed in the newer ROMs.
Thanks for the quick reply 100Tbps.
But unfortunately the problem i'm facing is not exactly the one you had. My problem is that the ringtone volume on the phone has reduced after installing MS Voice Command (which I want to keep). Initially I had set it to speak out the caller name while incoming call, but that reduced the ringtone volume and the volume of the announcement of incoming caller was itself very low. Then, I tried fixing that by changing some registry values, to no avail.
Now i've disabled announcing of incoming caller name, and still ringtone volume is very low. Can't seem to increase even if all the volume sliders are up at max....
Still in a fix... don't want to hard reset and install everything again...
there is a reg edit for it. i found it in a universal forum or something
Thanks a lot grinny11.
I've installed the file. Would love to see what settings the cab file changes - just to learn a bit... i'm a noob here and a wanna be power user
Anyways, all i need to do now is to wait for someone to call me  don't have a landline or alternate phone.
Will update here if problem solved.
Didn't work
maybe will have to do hard reset after all
thats wierd. it works for me. volume of voice command is just as loud as any other ring tone
quick question..
i have never used voice commander before and i could not find the current info page.
Can anyone provide a link to a page with all it can do? What else can you aside from calling contacts? does it work well? im guessing its not free
thanks

Hi all,
I notice that after pressing the video call button, the screen brightness will turn on to 100%, but not going back to my original setting (30%) after ending the call or just press the end call button.
So each time i have to go back to hte setting to tune down the brightness, is there somehow a registry tweak or what to fix this
I had the same problem too...
Were you able to make a video call? in the US?
Here in the US too. My co-workers and I have the Tilt. We havent figured out a way to make Video calls yet. Let us know what software and network you are using.
same here
is this an oversight or a feature?
it's annoying for me cus i use video calls pretty often..

Is there a way to simply REJECT incoming call (caller hears 'busy' signal when i press red button)?
For now there's no difference between pressing end call hardware button, 'igore' software button, mute ring button and flipping the phone. Every action just mute ring, but DO NOT REJECT.
And I want to REJECT caller, when i want him to know that his call is not welcome in that moment.
Thx for help or tips how to make it work
press the hangup key?
The End Call hardware button definitely rejects. Does it not?
End call hardware button = hangup key = definitely NOT or maybe it's a matter of setting which i don't know where to look ;(
OK, just tried. I called myself from a different phone. The moment I press the hardware button I hear the busy signal...
ok, i tried too from 2 other phones - no busy signal - after pressing hardware button cannot do anything on Diamond, until other caller hangs off.
The moment of hangin off is thee moment when today screen backs.
strange... - settings maybe????
**********
OK, GOT IT!
Problem is in settings -> Phone -> Band
When set to auto - problem occurs
When manually set network type
red button really rejects.
Problem solved
But I still wonder why
I have exactly the same behaviour with my Diamond on Orange Switzerland Network. Changing the band settings to manual solved the problem! thanks for the tip!
But I'm wondering why too... :-/
Does not work here. (o2, Germany). If I get a call and press the reject button on screen the caller hears the message that the number is not availbale instead of a bussy signal.
Has someone a solution please cause this behavour is very confusing for the caller.
Thank you!
Solved the problem
I have set the wrong voice box number Now if someone calls me and I reject the call using the reject button the caller gets routed to my voicebox...
thanks........
Alright this one is strange. Sometimes my notifications won't make sound. I find the only way to get them to sound is to reboot my phone. My only question is why is it that this happens in the first place? I use the droid notification for texts from the phone's normal menu and for gtalk I use one from my sd card. I am really at a loss here...
I'm also having issues with notifications, but more with the vibrate. None of my notifications I mark as "vibrate" actually vibrate, despite having it marked to "always" vibrate in the sound menu.
As for your problem, cstrife, do you have any apps that change volume or is your volume in the "sound" menu different? I know that Lightflow seemed to mess with my sounds a bit. I also use "notification manager" to turn off sounds at night, and sometimes in the morning the scheduler doesn't restore volume settings properly.
Gawd I'm just waiting for a good custom ROM.

Nope no apps other than the volume settings I use.

I notice the exact same thing regarding the vibrate function... I can feel incoming calls, but not any notifications (i.e. texts, GoogleTalk IMs, etc.). Not a SUPER huge deal, but would rather it work--than not.
....as in back button ends call in CM. Would that be possible to make?
we already have back button ends call feature
in my opinion, menu button should not answer the calls, it should put the call into background so you can do anything else while speaking with the caller.
so i dont think this will be implemented.

I know we already have back button.
Doesn't pressing the home button put the call in the background? So we have that too.
I'd like it if the menu button would answer calls. Sometimes it's just not practical to slide to answer.
