Before plug your phone enable debugging! Than root your phone, download from here x8 tools and install dual recovery
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Thx.. finally i rooted.. then can i know the next step i need to do is?
The best way is download from this forum x8toolbox search for it...and install dual recovery( you must enable debugging too)...then pick up rom which you wanna install, place it on your sd card, reboot phone if rom must be installed with xrecovery start pushing back button when se text appear and if with cwm start tapping screen when se text appear, choose install custom zip and pick your rom from sd card( by volume buttons, middle buton is "ok")wait until rom installed do a full wipe and reboot your phone
but i cant found x8toolbox.. can u give me the link?
Here you go http://www.mediafire.com/?3ruba74bo8hn361
Download it and extract...run tool box and plug your phone( with enabled debugging)..if its not work install ALL drivers for your phone...but it should work if you have installed pccompanion....its mean that you have installed all drivers....
so can i know what shuld i choose?
after i open the tool box..?
Choose recovery, install dual recovery...

Try the following thread:
Root ICS rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659308
Install abyssnote 4.2 kernel (via recovery). Method : 1. download AbyssNote 4.2 kernel and place it on your internal/external SD Card Also download the ICS Rom you want to install and put it on your SD card. 2. reboot to CWMR (press and hold volume up + home + power button) and do a backup of your current system 3. after your backup is done, stay in Recovery 4. go to install a zip from SD card --> select AbyssNote 4.2 zip and flash it 5. go back to CWMR's root menu --> advanced --> reboot recovery 6. you'll find yourself in AbyssNote's Touch Recovery (select options by tapping them, not by using the volume rocker and home button) 7. factory reset --> wipe cache --> wipe dalvik 9. flash the ICS Rom of your choice 10. reboot and let the Rom settle for a couple of minutes
Now comes the important part...check if you have root.
Start any Explorer with root permissions (Root Explorer, Es Explorer, X Explorer etc.). Copy any file (a picture, txt file, MP3, whatever). Navigate to /system folder Change the /system folder's permissions to R/W. Paste the file you have copied into /system. If the pasting goes through OK, you're fully rooted. Delete the file you've just pasted and set /system as R/O again
Thank u guys for reply. But i want to know is it possible to root my note staying in this KingDroid ICS NoteMania Edition v3.0 or i do have to go back to GB n then start the process again like the video tutorial?

You can try the following steps:

2) reboot to CWMR (press and hold volume up + home + power button)
3) go to install a zip from SD card --> select AbyssNote 4.2 zip and flash it

yourself in AbyssNote's Touch Recovery (select options by tapping them, not by using the volume rocker and home button)
5) wipe cache --> wipe dalvik 9
6) flash Kingdroid v3 again.
Ok thank u for ur reply. But is it safe to install the AbyssNote 4.2 kernel now as my note is not rooted. Will it harm my warranty?N i need another suggestion from u Which custom rom will be better?I used Paranoid 2.0 before.I loved it but had too many problem too.No FM n i was unable to install any official stuff like S Voice, the official ICS premium suite. So i need a custom rom where i'll be able to get all the official stuff n i'll have no lagging with launchers like Go launcher,ADW etc.Thank u again.
Oh i forgot to ask do i need to downgrade to GB before i flash the AbyssNote 4.2 kernel. As i'm with the KingDroid ICS NoteMania Edition v3.0 now.
I suggest you make a GB stock rom (Directly Rootable) download here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 ... rom a very good and the cyanogen 9.
Hi guys I decided to flash a new rom minicm7 and flash its latest kernel naa 13.
A couple of problems:
MY rom is minicm7 with naa latest version 13.
1.when I open the menu to access all my applications the scrolling feels laggy and if I were to scroll in settings file manager or anything else it's smooth any reason why?
2.Secondly which kernel suits you better for this rom (minicm7): Alfs? or NAa?
(I don't want comments like 'see for yourself' this question is based on your OWN invaluable experience)
3. for alfs 8acm7 i'm considering on seeing if it will workout for my device or not (minicm7). Before I do that:
Do I also need to flash chargemon on top of that? and does the flashing of chargemon straight after you flash any version of alfs kernel (except for the ones that already have it attached) apply to any rom regardless as well?
If so which chargemon do I flash? the v2 with the 17k downloads? (sorry im derping out)
4.Do I also need to flash anything else for naa just like how there was an extra file to flash for alfs?
5. I also installed tweaks 3 tweaks such as adre boost, odex, and e15 optimizer. Will these tweaks vanish if I flash a new rom + kernel?
6. Do you keep ANYTHING if you flash a new rom or kernel?
7. Do you lose anything of any sort if you flash a kernel?
8. How do you guys get such high scores in benchmark tests?
I have the same thing as a lot of people do but they seem to get 200 or even 300 higher. Could it because my sd card is filled with anime and music leaving only 5 - 6 gigs / 16gigs ?
I usually went by the rule of flashing 2.1.1.0 and rerooting my device and doing everything again just to stay safe
I don't know if these questions might be derp or not but I don't care please answer by putting a number first I really need answers.
Thank you once again
From my experience and opinion: (Please correct me if I'm wrong...)
1. IDK... BTW Is your MiniCM7 2.2.1 or Nightlies? Have your tried rebooting once or twice? Because mine was smooth...
2. nAa because it is more stable. They also said that the performance is faster with Alfs but I don't like FPS caps problem (Higher chance to get screen cut otherwise laggy scrolling visually)...
3. IDK... I haven't tested it...
4. No...
5. Most likely because you'll need to full wipe before installing a ROM (not kernel)...
6. Anything unless it requires to full wipe...
7. Yes... I think it overwrites some system apps and even some user apps and user data might be corrupted... (maybe when doing cross flashing of ROMs)
8. Overclock (The most effective and dangerous way), Supercharger (I think AutoKiller Memory Optimizer is the same), Swap (different partition), Adrenalines, Odex and et cetera...

You can use the recovery for creating SWAP but with Ext though...
[Ext is another partition for user apps and it's advantage is that you can use the apps on the partition while the sd is mounted on PC]
1. Back up everything on SD because it will be formatted...
2. Enter Recovery -> advanced -> Partition SD Card
3. Choose you Ext size -> Choose 128M Swap size... they said 256M is not recommended...
4. Reboot -> Terminal -> su (if required) -> free -> DONE!
If you want to use Ext, you may install Link2SD -> Choose Ext4 -> Reboot -> Launch Link2SD -> Start linking... DONE!... (Warning: sometimes it breaks app when the annoying error comes (I forgot))... I think you can also use the CyanogenMOD -> Performance -> A2SD (ext) but IDK how to use it...

Wow thanks!
So do I need to do this before I swap?
because when I dled swapper and swapped I ran free it was working fine but I felt no ingame improvment in anyway.
SO all I have to do is the above then swap and im good to go?

Swap is already done after partitioning... it's ready after reboot... the terminal is only used to check if it is mounted...
Only the Ext needs setup...
PS: I tried GingerDX and all Dalvik-Cache files went to the Ext without any setup ... Swapper makes mounting SD to PC very SLOW... SWAP Partition doesn't work with MiniCM9 3.0.2 but working on IScreamDX v004...
Ftwisawesome, learn to use the search function, most answers to your questions can be found when you show a little initiative.
Hi Guys,
I have miui andy's rom 2.8.10 ics. With previous kernel 1.0.3 everything was good. Then i flashed last 1.1.0 and the problem I have is that some change I make with devil kernel manager or config app doesn't work after a reboot. I mean that scheduler and governors changes work Just until Next phone restart. After that they come back to default settings.
I read something and tried to use a script manager to navigate to /sbin and run boot-patch.sh as root but it says " sh : no applet found ".
Is it maybe a problem of version 1.1.0? I flashed it twice after a full wipe and a kernel cleaning. Please help me
Thanks
Hi guys! I am new to the forum, but I read here in a long time!
I have a problem with video camera on my Xperia x8. I use a custom ROM "Blur CM7 v2 - Thanks nAa" and Kernel "2.6.29.6-nAa-14".
When recording video after 10 minutes recording screen goes white... Pressing back button to return to the camera. If I try to play a saved video, message appears and says:
"Unfortunately, this video can not be played" and is corrupted!
The same happens when using application Camera built-in ROM. I searched the forum and found that the settings in the file "media_profiles.xml" are independent of the settings used by the program "LG Camrecorder"!!!
I made a video to show you the problem!
youtube.com/watch?v=0v9VmJ6aKVc&feature=plcp - Please run the captions, because there is no sound!
I tried all sorts of settings and their combinations:
-Video encoder" Default, H.263, H.264, MPEG4
-Video file format: 3GPP, MPEG4,
-Video bitrate: from 100Kbit to 50Mbit
-Video Framerate: 24, 25, 30 fps
There is no effect and the problem remains.
I use 8GB - SD Flash Memory CLASS 4 - 2.5 GB is free space!!!
If I stopped the video before it reached ~ 10 minutes - the clip is OK!
What caused this problem?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. - Sorry for my bad english!
Try different rom and then report here.
I installed ROM GingerDX v029-shakira, but the problem remains and the same thing happens after 10 minutes video Recording?!?!
Is it possible the kernel "2.6.29.6-nAa-14" cause problems with the camera?
I reinstall the kernel via Flashtool... The problem is not yet solved. Please help!
I think all CM roms has this problem... I have already asked this problem and no one has made a solution yet...
change to alfs kernel and then change the rom
complete wipe also

The problem is fixed now! Here's what I did:
1. Full backup of my current ROM (Blur CM7 v2 - Thanks nAa) with CWM recovery
2. Flash kernel with Flashtool to "[Kernel] Alfs for CM7-by djnilse |v09a|"
3. Full wipe /cache /dalvik-cache /data /system /sd-ext...
4. Restore ROM (Blur CM7 v2 - Thanks nAa) with CWM recovery
5. Install "LibSensors_patch_for_MiniCM-7.zip"
6. Install "update-rom-CM7-AlfsKern.v9a+.zip"
7. Reboot
The problem with the camera is now gone and I can record unlimited time used the program "LG Camrecorder". Some applications are not working as they should - I re-install them - those who were in the phone before... However, there is another problem with using the program "rVoix" - Recorded sound choppy and it was a horrible quality!!! I found a solution to this problem, Now I use the program - Auto Call Recorder!
Thanks for the advice "nag xperia"
