[Q] Please help me! - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am a newbie!
I just only realize that SE xperia x8 can update to v2.3 using minicm7..
before that he need me to install CWM (but i dont even know what is CWM)
so i try to search at android market and i found a apps "Rom manager" so i downloaded and try to use.. after that the "Rom manager" want me to root my phone.. so i search how to root a phone and i also downloaded the superonclick.. BTW i follow the step and root... but the superoneclick not responding when i plug in the cable to connect to my pc..
So anyone can help me by giving me a very detail way to update my x8 to 2.3 using minicm..
Please i really need that!

Before plug your phone enable debugging! Than root your phone, download from here x8 tools and install dual recovery
Sent from my X8 using XDA App

Thx.. finally i rooted.. then can i know the next step i need to do is?

The best way is download from this forum x8toolbox search for it...and install dual recovery( you must enable debugging too)...then pick up rom which you wanna install, place it on your sd card, reboot phone if rom must be installed with xrecovery start pushing back button when se text appear and if with cwm start tapping screen when se text appear, choose install custom zip and pick your rom from sd card( by volume buttons, middle buton is "ok")wait until rom installed do a full wipe and reboot your phone

but i cant found x8toolbox.. can u give me the link?

Here you go http://www.mediafire.com/?3ruba74bo8hn361
Download it and extract...run tool box and plug your phone( with enabled debugging)..if its not work install ALL drivers for your phone...but it should work if you have installed pccompanion....its mean that you have installed all drivers....

so can i know what shuld i choose?
after i open the tool box..?

Choose recovery, install dual recovery...

[Q] help me in installing rom in x8

hi
i have rooted my SE x8.
which rom is best suited for for x8?
Is there any procedure to unroot?
i suggest that you try latest version of gdx available on the android devlopment section it is almost complete gingerbread rom and also remember to read all the instruction given there otherwise you will brick your phone for e.g remember to flash the add on module for latest version otherwise multitouch,uv will not work
and for unrooting the device you need to flash the official rom using flash tool or update with seus(pc companion)
good luck

New Samsung S4 i9295: rooting + custom ROM details plus the attached files

Got my new international version of the S4 (i9295) yesterday. Rooted and flashed a custom ROM this afternoon in about 1 hour. Below are the steps that I took to do this.
1.) Preparation: connect a usb micro SDcard reader (with a card in it) to your laptop and load the following files onto the sdcard,
-Towelroot.apk,
-SuperSU.apk
-terminal emulator such as jackpal.androidterm-1.0.70-71-minAPI4.apk
-root browser such as co.jrummy.root.browserfree.apk
-TWRP custom boot image file, Philz boot, recovery.img
-custom rom such as cm-12.1-20150715-NIGHTLY-jactivelte.zip
-Google Applications (GAPPS)2.) Next, turn off your phone, remove the SIM card, insert the sdcard card with the above applications copied onto it.
3.) Turn on your phone. Go to Settings and click the "More" tab. Then go into security and check "Unknown Sources."
4.) Log onto a wifi network to gain internet access.
5.) Go to Applications, select the "My Files" browser and go to the sdcard. Locate Towelroot.apk that you just loaded on the card. Install it and run it. Towelroot will want to talk to the mothership regarding precisely how to root your device. This is okay.
6.) Install terminal emulator, and root browser.
7.) Install SuperSU. Open the SuperSU app and allow application to update binaries.
8.) Open terminal emulator, type in "dd if=/storage/extSdCard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21". Now type "reboot".
9.) TWRP should now be installed.
10.) Shut down the phone. Now, hold down the volume up and power buttons at the same time to boot into Philz TWRP bootloader.
11.) Select "Install zip", then select "Choose zip from storage/sdcard1", now choose the custom ROM that you have copied to the root of your external sdcard. Note: I had to do a factory reboot at this point as I was getting an "detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/..." error message. I used the "factory reset" option under "wipe and format options" in TWRP with no problems. After this I was able to install the most recent 12.x Cyanogenmod rom with no problem.
12.) Repeat step 11 for GAPPS package.I have moved 5 of the 7 applications listed in step 1 into a zip archive (12.9mb) and uploaded it. The only applications missing are the custom ROM (268mb), and recent GAPPS collection (75mb).

Root miui lp stock rom without pc

This guide will root your device through Stock MI Recovery(Works with TWRP also), but this is not Native Root. A new app named SuperSU will be installed, which will give root Permission.
Note : - Rooting Void Warranty.
Caution:
This is a safe process, but I am not responsible for anything bad that happens to your phone.
In most cases this approach of rooting should not block OTA updates.
Steps to follow for rooting:
1. Download the Redmi2pLRoot.zip and Copy the file to the folder 'Internal storage' (root of internal storage)
(File at the end of thread)
2. Open the Updater app, Press the 3 dots at Right Top Corner, A menu will open. Tap on “Choose Update Package“ and select the Root.zip File.
3. Wait until device will reboot.
4. After reboot a new app SuperSu will be installed.
5. Open the app and Choose"Continue".
6. Choose "Normal", Don't Choose TWRP/CWM, device will go into Boot Loop.
Note:- Don't Choose TWRP/CWM, it will brick your device.
7. After sucessful updation , press ok.
8. Your Phone has now Root Permission
