[Q] Change ROM but keep configuration? - LG Optimus 2x

I like to change, now and then, the ROM that my 2X is running on.
I back-up my data, my apps (with buck-up and restore) and anything else than I can thing of.
What I cant back-up is the layout of the home screens, including widgets, shortcuts etc.
Is there an easy way, possible an app, that can to this?
I Understand that some Launchers can do this internaly, but what about stock LG launcher?

Mybackup Pro can backup the homescreen buttons and maps
send from my Dropad A8 Evolution 3.0

I have Titanium back-up (bought Pro version). I am backing up all apps and data and will change the rom.
I hope all things to work out!

It will, Titanium Backup is a great tool.

Is it possible to backup desktop shortcuts?

Is it possible to backup desktop shortcuts? I have several custom shortcuts I created with Anycut/Better Cut and would like to backup them before flashing a new ROM.
I use an App called "MyBackup Pro" (which is a paid version but there should be a free one on the Marketplace as well) to do just this very thing.
It allows you to choose what you want to backup as well. For example you can use the app JUST to backup your home layout, or SMS, MMS, Contacts, Call Log, etc. Now I'm not 100% sure that it will work for custom shortcuts with edited icons and what not but I don't see why it wouldn't.
Hope this helps.
MyBackup allows you to do this. As well as, Titanium Backup, which honestly backs up everything, and is any ROM flasher's ultimate tool.

[Q] Backup/restore TW4/TW4.5 homescreens?

Is there a known reliable way to backup/restore TW4 data when flashing between ROMs and such? SGS Tools had such a feature that worked on TW3.0 and TW3-based launchers but doesn't seem to want to work well on any TW4 launcher I've tried. Restoring the launcher data through TiBu either doesn't work or else kludges things up and causes FC's when it does.
TW4.5 seems to have the feature planned for an upcoming release, but is still grayed it in the menu for now.
Maybe I'm stupid and/or stubborn but I still prefer TW4 because it's the smoothest, most attractive and most intuitive to me. But it's a pain having to manually reconstruct the homescreens how I like them every time I flash. Between TiBu Pro and LifeSaver2 (for call and SMS logs) restoring everything else when flashing is almost effortless, and it just seems like there ought to be a way to do the same with the launcher.
Anyone have any solutions other than switching launchers?

Backup everything including settings, albums etc.

Hi,
I'm kinda new to Android (around 6 months) and after updating my P10 several times with HWOTA, because I'm rooted, I would like to know, if there's a better backup solution.
HiSuite works well but not perfect. The albums aren't backed up (photos, videos and other albums). The system settings are also missing like some application settings.
Is there any easy and "perfect" way to backup (on PC) everything including albums, system and application settings, etc.?
So, when I install a new firmware and all my data is removed from phone, I want to restore ONE whole backup and everything is the same like before the update...this is what I imagine
Greetings,

Purchase Titanium Backup from the play store. It backs up all apps, including app data. And restores wonderfully.
For SMS, use SMS backup and restore.
Only LG has a full backup solution from what I know. Samsung is stepping up their game also. Don't know anything about Huawei.

How to make s10 full backup to sd card without root?

Hi!
I switch from iOS where iCloud backup was best and easyist way to backup whole system. I tried Smart Switch but it doesn't restore everything (wallpapers, launcher, icons posiotion etc.)
What is Yours best solution?
Best!
That is the best solution unfortunately, you can opt for a third party launcher that backs up its settings so it'll remember your homescreen settings but that's about it. Android just doesn't have a proper backup solution, typical google...
Google backs up a lot of the app settings. When you restore a new phone there an option to restore from Google. Unfortunately it uses a lot of bandwidth to download all those apps when restoring them.
After setting up a bunch of phones you can figure which ones can be restored from smart switch and which from Google
Create a Samsung Account, and your phone will backup to your Samsung Account.
Additionally, if you create a Google account, then you hey backup there also.
Use the Nova Launcher instead of built-in launcher, and enjoy many more customizable option, including backup of launcher setting, vehicle scrolling in the app drawer, and home screen lock

Welcome back stranger. I enable all Google's backup capability, use Titanium Backup and Nova Launcher. I ONLY use TiBu for non-Play Store apps. It is configured to NOT back up any system apps nor ANY apps downloaded from the Store. I keep a zipfile of the TiBu folder offline on my PC about once a month, or just before wiping the phone. I use Nova Launcher's backup for home screen, widgets and shortcuts. From a wiped phone condition I allow Google backup to restore everything it can, and it works pretty damn well for me... but I don't use my phone for gaming. Secondly, I use TiBu to restore only "misssing" apps. Once all my apps are back on the phone, I use a Nova Launcher backup and everything is back the way I had it before. Is it as good or easy as a nandroid? No, but it's the best results I've found with the least amount of hassle. Best of luck!

Thanks for the detailed reply dude! Yeah, so google backup really does it's job well when it comes to that. The only discrepancy I've found is that going from stock to ROM it doesn't necessarily bring back the homescreen to what it was. But that brings me to my next point. I believe that's because of the launcher pixel dust uses. I haven't used nova launcher in YEARS. How is it? The backup feature sounds nice. Maybe I'll backup all my stuff and move over to A12 w/ nova launcher and custom kernel instead. But so far I am really liking the pixel dust ROM.
What are you running?
Running stock, Nova, EX kernel here. Nova Launcher's backup feature that includes home screen, all shortcuts, widgets, etc. is a HUGE time saver. Of course it backs up your own custom launcher settings too. It will back up to your cloud account easily in case you are wiping the phone. Just run it last after restoring all your Store apps and "non-market" apps. I run stock because there is nothing the other ROMs have that I need. The exception is legacy devices that are no longer supported. Good luck!
