Hi, guys,
I'm looking forward to porting some nightly Legends to our x8,
and I have searched in the forum for this question.
I heard that we should copy our boot.img, but I have no idea where I can find this file.
And what about the files under bin? What should I do with the files in /system/bin/?
And should I copy libs from other roms?
Thanks for your help!!
I think you should make a backup first. I'n the backup folder there are 4 files, one of them is the boot.img
Thanks.
And what about libs?
Should I copy all of libs from old cm7 legend builds?

Hi guys,
i have a question about applying a custom theme within a custom rom. Let's say i cooked a rom with the 1.6 kitchen and let it all default, just a minimalized rom.
Now when i cook a theme with the UOT kitchen and flash it through recovery, all goes well.
But i don't want to flash it after flashing the rom. I want to implement it in to the rom, so just one flash to get my phone look nice.
When i put the framework-res.apk in my extracted rom folder in /system/framework i only get bootloops after flashing.
any ideas ?
normally that should work with no problems ...
i used to do that with my themes for samsung galaxy spica, always worked well
just exchange framework-res.apk in your rom with your themed one ...
but i haven´t tried on optimus 2x yet ...

you have to exchange update-binary from uot kitchen with this one :

then flashing works
ok guys.. i've been doin pretty good with the SenseLX rom.. still have much to learn. My next goal is to port a rom from scratch and start working on it as a project. my only question is how do i do that? lol i keep looking up link but there is no guide on porting a rom to the g1... which is suprising because this is like the oldest androis phone in the world... lol so my question is.. can i just adb pull on a newer phone and jus get a rom like that? obviously work on it to flash lol but is that an option? or do i need to find a source here on xda where i can find a list of stock roms to port over?
pleeeease somebody point me in the right direction...
you should ask one of the devs. i have no expirience with any programming or stuff. they have some kitchens that help you port themes and stuff but i have no idea
To get a copy of a rom to port, either Google around for one or copy the system.img and boot.img from a nandroid backup from the device.
To begin porting I would suggest using the porting tools in the htc android kitchen
Also you probably need to port from a device with similar hardware (ARMv6, low ram, mdpi)
Has any one try overclocking ICS/CM9? I know its possible in a stock rom but how about in ICS?

Yes it works the same way with the ICS roms. The only difference is the files you need to edit are not in the same exact places as they are in the stock rom. For example, unit.mapphone_cdma.rc is in the root directory for stock rom, but is located in the /system folder of Hash's CM9. The files you need to edit are still named the same so if you have problems finding them, just do a search with your file browser to locate them (Root Explorer).
OK thanks so much will try finding the right folders and give it a go. Thanks

Hello one and all. I currently use the rom MlUI and everything is fluid except folders with different kernels. Is there a mod to accelerate these files? Thank you for your help!
Hi guys,
Sorry for sounding like a noob but I'm not used to using the G1, i flashed a recovery-patch to resize the partitions for one of the HTC Sense roms (can't remember which), How can i get the partitions back to normal so i can flash CM? Is there a undo recovery patch somewhere?
Cheers in advance dudes!
I think you are refurning to custom mtd partitions? you can change the .txt file or flash the remove file,
look for firerats thread on this in the developers section, or look for his github, you will find all the files needed and explanations of how to
