Wrong way to install the CWR. My phone has a solution? - LG Thrill 4G

I'm so embarrassed to post this, but there we go.
CWM installed following the tutorial for the P920 using the 3D ROM MANAGER (rooted by superoneclick). Apparently installed successfully, but when trying to install the mod's ROMs (King_3d, and ThiaiZ KINGDROID), all of them will not boot completely and then turn off your device as you pressed the power button.
Trying to see what could be wrong, I saw on the back label that my device it's a P925. I was stupid and not able to make the backup old ROM.
I just killed my phone or there is still way out of it?
PS: I tried to run this rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1270832 but this also does not boot completely, and the device shutting down.
Maybe a problem with the CWR?

Thanks, but i have no system running on phone to do this. I´m stuck on CWR with no rom.

How much battery do you have left? You should be able to boot completely with O3D ROMs, and for sure with the stock Thrill ROM. Also, are you doing a data wipe before hand?
If you can get into recovery, which sounds like you can, no need to reflash the recovery. As well, a boot loop usually means failure to wipe properly or wrong kernel (but that doesn't apply here at all).

Battery it´s full! All attempts i wape the cache , data & factory, and dalvik too.
Without success, the phone keeps Shutting Down after booting the ROM's. (I can see "reading sd card" on the top bar before shutting down screen.
Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Wait so you're actually able to boot into the operating system and then it just shuts off? Or does it reboot back to the boot screen? If its shutting off That sounds like something is wrong with the phone itself.
Try to redownload a fresh copy of the rom and push it to your SD card (check the md5 sums to be sure its right. If its not posted ask the dev to put it up). Boot into clockworkmod and go to mounts and storage. From there format /system /data and /cache. Now install the rom and reboot.

There's no reason for the phone to shut off like that. Even if you are getting bad rom flashes. Unless..
I gotta ask...is the battery charged? You can lose a lot of battery being in recovery and going through reboots. It could actually be that the battery is not charged or is defective. Try charging and/or replacing the battery.

I have good news! Or bad news too. I just decided to turn on the device with the USB cable plugged in and booted it as well. He is not holding battery charge, consisting as 0% of charged. I tested another battery from a friend and did the same thing. If I unplug the USB cable the device shutting off immediately. It may be a software problem or a hardware problem coincidentally?

Edit: it appears they're having the same problem over in the O3D forums. Try restoring the stock firmware and stock recovery. I would also try formatting all your partitions individually (you will lose data so backup first).

Be more specific please. You wiped stuff in CWM recovery or Stock recovery?
(You don't have to flash a ROM after wiping, stock will just reload itself upon boot)

Similar things have happened to me. Have you pulled and replaced the battery, then let it charge a while before trying to power on? That usually does it for me.

If this happened to the new Nexus or the Razr, yep its a brick (they don't have external batteries)
But yeah, just get another battery. Or A batter charger that doesnt require the battery to be in the phone.

You have to try the software smartflash, with that you will return to the stock rom! Are you sure that you can not get into Recovery? In recovery you enter by pressing the power button and volume -!!
i have this, it keeps going LG. off on LG. off on?
just take out battery. put battery in. while pressing POWER + VOL DOWN.
it will boot into CWM. well should. Only way i got out of it. or i would have rage thrown fone at wall.
I have done that but doesnt help..... I did install smart flash and it says flash successfull but still gets stuck at LG Logo..... This is some weard ****.... plz help

i had another problem ontop of this. (bad baseband and ril) meaning the battery was like charging then saying 98% then saying 3% then no wifi no sdcard(ext) etc. i was like NOOOOOOOOOOO... battery draining super fast. phone heating up. then i emergency try to re flash. (have no access to put files on sd card) re flashed the only zip on the sd card (lucky cm9) which has aroma launcher, enable me to do a FULL WIPE. then once into CM9 (after it freezes on boot screen (animation) for like 2 minutes. furioiusly pressing buttons wondering if batt is going flat, get into menu. hold power force reboot into recovery mode. (sometimes its really annoying to get into recovery cause hold to long reset/reload no recovery. sometimes easier to hold power in boot into recovery via PHONE CM9 loaded.
i figured out it was the kernel was making my baseband read as UNKNOWN even tho it could tell me the version. ha. only fix was to do a full wipe.
the problem you probably have is. NO WAY TO PUT ANY OTHER ROM/STOCK onto SD CARD cause you have no other device with USB MASS STORAGE SD CARD???
if you can do that, then your ok.
if you cant then you need to go into cwm.
do a restore. if you have a backup. if the backup is ext3 and you have used ex4 roms like CM7/9 then the recovery will fail. and you will still be bad...
try doing in CWM recovery (full wipe/reset/cache/dav etc) ? silly question im sure you would have tried everything.
hmm. the only solution is to get another ROM (ext4) unless u can get backtoext3.zip.
you need the files on the SD CARD.. then you should be ok . right?
Try booting into recovery and wiping the dalvik cache and the other caches maybe?

| Did a hard reset/factory reset using SmartFlashTool and still no luck. The phone keeps powering off (as if you were pulling out the battery forcefully from the back) after booting for a min or so when plugged in. When on battery alone, the phone wont boot at all, it just flashes the LG logo for a few times and dies (like turning a lamp on and off). I'm running out of ideas :S
Did you drop it or did it get wet? Is the Download Mode screen being shown for a longer periode of time, or how were you able to use smartflash?

| Nope, Nope, Nope, I was able to use SmartFlash just fine. When plugged into a power source, the phone did a factory reset and I was able to boot into froyo for a minute or so, and then it dies (like when you're pulling the battery out forcefully).
Try the following:
Download any kdz file, download cwm injector (look into my noob how to post 3), inject cwm, flash it with smartflash, then you should be in CWM, do a data, cache and dalwik wipe, flash superuser.zip (should be on your SD card of course) and try to boot again. If it still doesnt boot, I have no idea, of what is wrong with your phone...
I think it's hardware related. A link betwen power supply and motherboard.

I think it's a hardware problem too because smartflashing it to original rom still won't solve the problem. Guess I have to take it back to the store that I bought it from.
Try using it on USB alone with battery removed if its working normal, then it could be a faulty battery. If you can lend the same battery to test would be better than buying one then realizing thats not the problem but could be hardware problem.
Hmm, had u followed the correct steps about using smartflashtool?
Change the battery?

[GUIDE] How to revive HTC Salsa from a bricking

Credits to-
BigBearEvo- For making important modifications.
kashttl- For informing about errors with ROM Toolbox.
Introduction-
In simple language, bricking is just making your phone unusable. But as we go deeper in this world of rooting, we find ourselves reading posts with terms like “soft-brick” and “hard-brick”. So what is the difference?
Hard-brick
Hard-brick is when you mess up with your boot image while updating, or when you snatch your phone's USB cable while an update is going on through PC. Or even worse, you flash a ROM @ 0% battery.
Soft-brick
Soft-brick is when you fail to clear your Dalvik, forget to format/wipe data, which leads to your phone going into a bootloop i.e- keeps playing bootanimation for a long time (15 mins or more). This generally happens when there is some mismatch of Android Virtual Machine with installed apps. Or for us, the phone is stuck in White HTC logo screen.
So how to get your phone back to life in case of-
Hard-brick
Sorry boss but your phone is dead. Reviving it will be more expensive than buying a new one. Also this task is done only by a few specialists.
Hard brick can be solved in case of improper flashing of RUU or updates on Stock Phones. you require USB drivers to be installed along with HTC Sync.
You Need the proper RUU designed for your area model.
Load phone into Bootloader screen. Run RUU from PC. you may have to do this several times and follow instructions carefully. You will eventually you load the RUU and have a working phone.
This isn't for the Noob to do. Recommendation is see a service engineer, or seek good help from users that have done this. each Hard brick can be different, dependent on what they did in the first place
Soft-brick
Hmmmm.. Something can be done-
A> First pull out your battery.
B> Put it back.
C> Press Power and Volume Down simultaneously till you enter fastboot screen.
D> Get into recovery mode.
Now you have 2 options-
i> Restore to one of your previous backups.
ii> Flash stock ROM or some other stable ROM.
Precautions while flashing-
A>Firstly DO NOT flash using ROM Toolbox or apps with similar functionality. (Credits- kashttl). People from HTC Desire forum faced a lot of hassle in doing so.
B> Don't just snatch your USB Cable while transferring ZIP file from PC to SD card. It will lead to CWM recovery Errors.
C> Have at least 50% battery charge in your phone before flashing any ROM, minimal level is 20% as 5% battery is used when flashing.
D> Always do a Triple wipe before flashing ROM. (Data/Cache/Dalvik)
E> Always do a Nandroid backup of current ROM before changing into a custom one. (Recovery or Rom manager)
F> Follow any other special instructions (If any) while flashing.
G> If you end up with any problems with a certain ROM, please post in the ROM thread ASAP.

Remove battery and get to hboot menu. Hold volume down key then then power on while holding down.
If u have recovery, boot into it and wipe everything. If not, factory reset on hboot and try to reboot. Seems what ever u did has buggered it and u have to start over.

Depends on the stage you got to. did you try to flash an RUU for your area? if you did it would have wiped your recovery program off. if your didnt and still have cwm installed, please go to another rom that takes your fancy and follow flashing guides from there. more info would be helpful though.

If the USB wasn't detectable it means your pc/laptop does not have the correct programs installed to find it. IE adb etc & java sdk/jdk installed.
try the other methods first though as it should work out easier

Cannot make phone start, stuck at Semaphore logo / animation

Hi,
As the title says I have small problem. I bought my SGS1 with custom rom and kernel flashed into it already - sometimes it shows wrong time, went into recovery mode without my knowledge, had some problems with apps. Today I pressed Power and chose reboot - now I am stuck at animation that appears after logo kernel Semaphore. Of course I tried to look in other threads, I found a lot of them but still I cant figure out how to do it. You see, I never did it before and it's all hokus-pokus to me even tho I read stuff here at the forums. I managed to get into downloand and recovery mode using 3 button combo What do I do now? It seems way too complicated for newbie like me, every post isn't explaining it enuff for me. Can someone help me or at least give some tips, clues?
Things I got installed are Android 4 .0.4, 3.0.8 Semaphore ics 1.1.2s.
Thanks in advance guys

Get in recovery, clear cache and dalvik cache and reboot.
It will take a while to full boot cause it will have to rebuild it's cache but should work from there.
If it doesn't, You'll need more stuff but we'll get to that then.

Okay. I wiped cache and dalvik. Now I'm waiting on animation screen for 30 minutes. I'll let you know what happens after 1 hour.
By the way does any of those problems could be related to low battery? I had like 20% last time I rebooted my phone and problems started.
One more thing is - I don't have memory microSD card - guy sent me 16GB one but it doesn't work. Can we fix it without it? I wanted to buy a new one eventually
EDIT: Okay, one hour passed after I wiped cache. Everything was stuck on animation but suddenly, after I walked out of phone for a 5 minutes it stopped - everything was gone, I couldn't Power it or use 3 button combo. I think that's cuz battery went low. I plugged it into charger, we'll see if it charges. I hope so. EDIT2: Yeah, that was battery. Still can enter Recovery.

Did you recently remove the sd card? If so, try booting with it in your cell.
If that doesn't work, Mount your phone through recovery to backup your stuff on PC (like pics).
Now you'll need Odin KK4 without bootloaders (found in the stickies). As will as corn kernel and Odin 1.87. And finally a JB rom you wanna use on your internal sd.
Get your phone in download mode and flash KK4 (stock GB). Let it do us it's magic, once done, make sure it boots up fine. Then get back in recovery to flash corn kernel with odin 1.87 (gotta put it in the PDA slot). Finally, follow the FULL instructions provided by the ROM dev you chose.
