Turn off backup assistant - Motorola Droid Bionic

If you are like me and accidentally set up backup assistant and want to turn it off (maybe because google is already backing up all your contacts) - here is a way to do it:
go to Settings / Applications / Manage Applications /All Tab / Sync Service and clear data and storage and this will disable it until you open app again and then it will prompt to set it up again.
Hope this helps

[Q] Gmail stopt updating

I have a problem that i wrote about in googles forum and got an answer that not worked for me, so i try here...
After i updated to Android 2,2 my Gmail and my twitter has stop syncing as it should.
My Gmail syncs for a while but then stops, and when i go to the gmail app and press refresh then the new mail comes up. For getting it works for a couple of days i have to go to settings, applications, manage applications and gmail, and there i have to clear data and cache. Then it works for a couple of days then stops again.
The answer i got is:
You can try the following for the gmail issue:
"So, to get my "connection" back:
1) Go into the settings menu for the phone
2) Choose applications
3) Choose Manage Applications
4) Under Manage Applications set the Filter to ALL. Not sure why this isn't the default but c'est la vie.
5) Scroll down and choose GMail Storage
6) Tap the botton for Clear Data
7) Head on over into GMail and VOILA!"
The problem for me is that i not have a GMail Storage..
Anyone else got the same problem?
Any solutions?

Gmail sync issues.....

Anyone else having issues these past few days with their desktop Gmail inbox not showing as read, when you've already read it on your Nexus 6?
I just started having these issues and have no idea what caused them. I'm rooted and unlocked, running stock 5.1.1 LVY48F, Verizon
I've never had this problem before. I'm thinking it's connected to the fact I just pushed the stagefright update to LVY48F this past weekend.
I've checked settings and everything, no idea how to fix this.
Thanks-
Anyone?
Been trying to figure this out and cannot.
I restored my backup of LMY47Z and I'm still having this problem. This tells me it isn't the ROM that's affecting it.
All I know is I'll view numerous emails on my Nexus 6 through GMail app at work, come home and that same email is shown as unread on GMail on my Macbook Pro via Chrome browser.
This is driving me nuts! Cannot figure this out.

For me this started with my N6 no longer visible in Device Manager
Few basic steps. https://support.google.com/mail/troubleshooter/2650727?hl=en
Then try this. It worked for me.
1: Disable auto sync (Settings > Data Usage > Menu > Auto-sync Data).
2: Navigate to Apps > View all (this means com.**.**.** apps, not just apps you can download).
3: Find Download Manager: Disable it, and enable it.
4: Find Google Play Services, clear data & cache.
5: Find Google Play Store, clear data and cache.
6: Find Google Service Framework, clear data, and cache, and then disable and re-enable.
7: Find GMail, clear cache, and data.
8: Reboot your phone.
9: Open Gmail, get prompted to sync all your data again. I had to manually select Sync Now to get things going.

I installed a new ROM and all is well again.
No idea what caused that to happen.
Appreciate the input

Google account for backup

Hi guys,
As most of you already know that android phones have google backup services. But on my phone that google account settings is inactive. I mean, i go to settings --> additional settings --> backup & reset, on this page there is google backup & reset and i turn this option on, and below that there is an option to choose backup account. But on my phone that option is inactive.
Why is that option inactive and how can i reactivate it? Because i always use google account on my old phones and i want to use it on this phone too.
Thanks.

Contacts not working

I believe something may have gone wrong when I tried restoring system apps from my OPO to my new OP3T. Now my google contacts do not sync, there are no contacts showing in the contacts app. When I try to save a contact the tick to save is grey and I cannot tap it. I have tried clear data and force stop but it doesn't fix it. Any ideas?
Just a thought: Why restoring a system app if all data of theese are stored only? Especially contacts app which is connected to your Google account.
I would try to reset the apps, delete the Google account in account settings and apply the Google account once more and try/hope it now syncs.
How can I reset all apps? I really want to avoid a full factory reset. I'm happy to use abd, flash, twrp etc

Question Google Services - My Experience

Hello Everyone. I bought the orange 512gb X70 Pro+ from TradingShenZhen, and overall I am satisfied (but not 100% happy) with the CN Rom phone (BTW if I have the chance to flash it with Funtouch Global OS, I would do (pay) it without hesitation!).
After I set it up for first time (english language, wifi connection, etc) I downloaded all google apps I think are necessary for me (drive, photos, play store, etc) and I logged in with my Google account in all of them, downloaded WhatsApp, banking apps, and others. Everything seemed to work well. Then I saw that the phone was not receiving some notificactions like WhatsApp automatically, so I found a Set Up "Guide" from a website that was in German (I google translated it) and follow the instructions to remove CN apps from the Phone, and after that the phone started to receive WhatsApp notifications even if the app is not open.
Not having the Hey Google feature, Android Auto, the Google search bar in the main screen, not having the ability to clone apps (android default feature). Or setting Google as default (phone, messages, gmail, calendar, calculator, chrome). Manually setting up permissions, notifications, removing CN apps, or changing settings in general... I still can live with it, taking in mind those should be done once per each factory reset only.
My only "problem" so far: going Back to Google (mainly Google Drive Backup), the phone is backing up WhatsApp chats, media files, contacts; BUT the phone is not backing up: Apps, SMS messages, and Device Settings. When I launch Google Drive app, and click on "back up now" it says "couldnĀ“t backup data. Try again later", I have tried the disable screen locks, logging out, loggin back in, force stop, clear cache, rebooting, uninstall and reinstall Google Drive, backup from Google One (it is stuck at "Starting first backup..."), and the problem persists. Fortunately for me, most important data is backing up, because in a worst case scenario (if my phone is completely dead) I could restore Google Backed up data and then download all the apps from Play Store, log in, and set the device settings manually.
I hope this information helps in someway and also if you know another step I could try for the Google Drive backup issue, or if there is a reliable app that can create backup for Apps, SMS, and device settings; I would really appreciate You to let me know.
Have a nice day!

You cannot have "G" futures (Hey Google feature, Android Auto, the Google search bar in the main screen..) as all these apps are not system apps. In Chinese model only Google Play Services are system app, all other apps are installed on request.

You can't have Hey Google, Android Auto and complete backup on the Chinese model. Everything else, including search bar, calendar, contacts, Google phone, Messages...goes, as you can see on attached pictures.
