yes ,and we need a s/n for any device l-07c to download the cap file and use it
The firmware for optimus bright l-07c cannot installed on optimus black. The firmware are developed by docomo & lg. It is intend to use in japanese market. The l-07c also have many features, such as digital tv, where black do not have.

Even you have the serial number, you would not able to obtain firmware through lg's usual channel. The firmware is distribute by docomo instead of lg. In japan, the update for l-07c mainly over the air.

i found a japanese blog about LG Optimus Bright L-07C, he managed to remove bloatwares by rooting, but his intructions are too complicated, pm me for the link if you are interested, just use google translate to view it in english, it would be a big help if someone revise it. i think this post is an impossible one but at least i try to tell it. (sorry for bad english)

Yes, simply flash P970 rom and you can say goodbye to docomo lol. I'm using V20Q
it is posible to flash custom rom of P970 to your L-07C, after 4 hours of searching and reading on lg optimus black section, i managed to root and flashed my L-07C from Android 2.3.3 v10d to Zeus 6.35 v20o (custom rom). Click here for a clear instructions

I tried to install a custom rom to my L07c using clock work mod after update phone swiched off. I tried to on but it can't switch on.
Please help me

Hey guys, i dont know if i posted in the right place but here it goes......
Ok so i jus got the lg optimus black p970 and first thing was first to upgrade as told by t-mobile i could upgrade to 2.3.....
Ok so i use the lg updating software on pc and it says i was being updated from 1.6 -2.1 although in (about phone) it says 2.2.2 bfore and after the s/w upgrade :s
So to cut it short i want to upgrade to 2.3 and i hear i need custom rom and root (only ever used super one click for galaxy tab) meaning lack of exp rooting lg....
will the gingerbreak root work for the lg thats not on 2.3 and is there a solid walkthrough about that you guys can link me too so i can fully understand what i am doing......what i have found doesnt explain much and i dare not risk it....

If you want to root your LG P970 than u should use gingerbreak. There is a really nice topic made by Noejn explaining how to do it in the android development section of Black forum. There are no custom rom's yet but I think that they will appear in a short period.

Gingerbread update still hasn't been released by LG for the Optimus Black. What the T-mobile rep might have meant is that the LG Optimus Black is upgradeable to 2.3, which it is. It's just that the Android 2.3 update still isn't available yet for the OB.
Once custom ROMs are made based on AOSP 2.3 or CyanogenMod, then you can have Gingerbread for your OB.

Here is a simple way to Flash official GB to OB (P970) for India.
*All your data get erased (contacts, sms, Apps), so Backup First.
. i will not responsible for any thing go wrong.
*This is an official Indian ROM so it will not void your warranty in India.
You can also Unbrick your OB by this procedure.
You need -
1- Smart flash updater (Attached)
2- Official GB ROM V20B of India -
http://www.lgmobiles.com/gsm/download/P970 V20B(Gingerbread Version).rar
3 LG mobile Drivers -
http://www.lg.com/in/support/mc-support/mobile-phone-support.jsp
*First install LG mobile Drivers if you don't have on your PC.
*Extract V20B rar file - you will get two bin files CP and AP.
*Extarct the smartflash rar file
*Run smartflash tool.
*Select- ROM copy D/L
*Connect OB (P970) in software upgrade mode (Keep pressing Vol+(up) and connect to USB)
*com port automatic get selected. ( If drivers are installed correctly)
*Select CP bin
*Select AP bin
*Hit Start
Stay beck for 3 min. Your OB will restart automatically.
Change log over 2.2 (froyo) -
*UI Improved - Smooth and fast
*Battery life improved
*Hindi fonts support
*MKV video format support.
*Google + added
*Heating Prob solved.

This is 100% Indian version. I already flashed on my OB. It's Fast and stable ROM.
The same link is used by LG service center in India.
Tested, working, clean and fast !

Hi All. I have been using the v20b and v20N both for some time now.
I can tell you first hand that the 20b is a lot better than v20N.
It gives me almost 3 days of battery life (with average usage) and the phone is fast and zippy.
Hindi fonts are supported as well.
I have noticed a increase in browsing speeds as well. Applications run fantastic and it hasn't crashed or force closed a single time yet.
I'm loving the new firmware.
Just waiting for a root now !
completely agree w/ u @ shreyas99 it is a lot better than v20N, very smooth and battery juice a lot more..but please anybody can tell me how to root this..please

ROM's are same only flashing files and Flasher is different and about Persian font, I am not sure.

Is anyone facing problems with the g-button. After the update i did a factory reset . Now the g-button isn't workin properly. I tried to calibrate accelerometer from the hidden menu but it says ''calibration fail-write error''. Any help....

I came across the link to download STOCK ROM for my lg optimus 2x p990 as link below.

but this freak share is not allowing me to download completely the file. i had tried almost every day. it downloads and then stops after some time.
i want the indian version of stock rom whose decsription is as below(description is as mentioned in above said link)
"BIN_LGP990AT-00-V20i-ESA-XXX-MAY-16-2012-0" under the INDIA, SINGAPORE, VIET NAM, THAILAND sub menu.
i had flashed old rom and wanted to try this new ROM. but i am not able to download completely the file itself.
this freak share website is really freaking me . so please can any one in this XDA has a true copy of the stock ROM. please upload as torrent or to some location which all can easily access and download the ROM 20i completely.
i really tried all possible means and could not able to download completely not even once. so please please , give me a link from where i can download the Complete ROM.

search for a Rebuild of V20i from the kdz superman FLIX. it is a nice version with some unwanted bloated bulky apps from the original ROM from LG.

v20h has some bugs which will make u remove the battery after the calls gets cut. Like the display wont come up.If u had faced the same problem as me anytime,do let me know cos i found a baseband version which gets u out of this 20h problem. If u havent encountered then ur lucky.
As soon as i get the build v20i. I will upload to all my dear friends in some hosting site and will give u all link. It would be alternative link. So that my entire world uses it.

dear iam not facing such problem in v20h but now iam in v20i it is same as v20h not much performance difference .I mean its not matter v20h or v20i now we want a official ics for p990 after a long time of waiting i think they launch it in the starting of sept. now wait and see what performance it will give .thanx alot have a good day too

U can try "NOVA HD RUBUILD V1.1"
Its really good and crispy.its an ICS build. But no video acceleration. If u want to see how p990 reacts to ICS, can give a try.:thumbup:

i already tried it but i am facing a battery issue with there kernel and then came back to stock. i think that the orignal ics dont have such issue. and i also heard that the stock ics is come with major updates like lg quickmemo etc and more new features...waiting for that

yes ofcourse. if u download v20h and if you had not rooted your phone, then you can upgrade using lg upgrade tool. if the new version is available then you can. if the software projects like "you have the latest version then you cannot".

I have a su660 that has been flash to su660 that is compatible with it. but for some reason the screen is now not touchable. So the previous owner return it back to to original v20 rom. but still its not touchable. can anyone help me with these.

maybe ur touch screen has been broken...
try flash by LG upgrade with rom v20m or v30b 5 release 10/9
