Got my Streak back from Dell this morning. They sent me a brand new one! Has a Dell logo instead of the T-mobile. Popped in my T-mobile sim, and fired it up. Battery was charged full, and so far, it's working great. Version 2.2.2 Seems as if the reception is better? I take back most of the bad stuff I said about Dell. For now. Also, while my Streak was off for repair, I bought a Toshiba Thrive. 10" and with honeycomb. I love it. Turned the Streak wi fi share on, and the Toshiba locked right on. Can't have too many toys ya know.

Does anybody know where to buy an original dell streak back plate; mine is a little bit defekt and I cannot get it from Dell Belgium due to the fact they are not selling it in Belgium yet.

I received a replacement unit today, but there was no return label. Anyone else in this situation? Does Dell not want the old unit? I'd be happy to keep it
its crazy its taking so long i called dell to tell them i am having over heating issues and they sent me a new one out again and it will be here tomorrow........... i call yesterday
still waiting on my replacement from the weekend. Getting weird menu and keyboard popups, and rebooting now. Think its overheating.
No replacement but new ill will get today. I ordered it last Tuesday.

Got mine yesterday. No return label but they called and lefr message to return broken one.
I have my streak plugged into a dock and it has frozen once so far. Had to hard reset it and it was pretty warm. Not having a good feeling about it.
For those that got your replacement, question is. did it come with 2.2.2 (with the update) or 2.2.1?
for those of you that got a replacement... was it new in the box with all of the accessories or does it appear to be a refurb...

One thing about the overheating. I have only had that issue when the device is charging and the screen is left on. As long as I keep the screen off when charging, I dont have the overheating issue.

my first replacement was brand new but the one i sent in i actually openned up and removed the void stickers , lol and they are sending me one in a couple of hours that should be brand new if not ill just keep the one i already have

Actually hold off.. The Asus eee Transformer looks very promising. It's the same specs as the xoom except it has an ips screen and the sd card is working (currently not on xoom) plus it's got that extra keyboard dock to turn it into a laptop kinda thing complete with usb ports and sd card reader. It's reported that the 16gb will be 399 and the 32 gb be 499 (without the dock) but I estimate the 16gb will be 449(comparable to the acrer hc tab that just went up for pre order) and 549 for the 32gb version.. that's my guesstimate lol
I'm actually selling my xoom to get the asus. Plus the thing isnt even out yet and they already released the source code and are already talking of an OTA update a few weeks after release... which is a very promising sign. They said it has the nicest android tablet screens seen so far that is on par with the ipad 2 screen
And it's pretty easy to wifi tether. I use my glacier to tether to both my xoom and streak 7 and sometimes my netbook or laptop
I listed my xoom for $550 but would accept $525 so if you know anyone that wants one let me know
I called my local tmobile store today to try and verify that they had a streak 7 in stock before I drove there for no reason. The sales rep I spoke with told me they were out of stock, and proceded to tell me that I should just get a galaxy tab instead. I told him no, I had my mind set on getting the streak 7 because of the dual core tegra 2 processor.....

Every t-mobile store I've been in has tried to convince me I should get rid of my Dell Streak for the Galaxy Tab. I think T-mobile is just trying to push the galaxy tab.
When I went in to check it out, the T-Mo rep tried to push the GSlate on me. $500 on contract for an extra 1.9" (which is a negative; I prefer the 7" size - twss, I know) and a flunky, gimmicky 3D? No thanks. Honeycomb is nice and all, but not worth an extra $400 (got my S7 for $99 on contract).
The time before that, I was pushed the Galaxy Tab due to the screen being better. They really hate the Streak 7, there. Dell ought to start cracking heads; we need more adopters of this platform!
I just wanted to post about a good deal on OEM car chargers for our Streak 7. There's an ebay retailer selling them for $9.99 with free shipping. I ordered one expecting it to be a cheap knock-off. It isn't! It is the real deal. It's the same charger/cable you would get if you walked into a T-Mobile store and bought one.

Well, give it a few weeks (or hours, depending on HS1.3B4) and the Streak 7 will be a Honeycomb tablet.
I hope so, Zandar. I'm really up in the air about selling my Streak 7. I picked up a Galaxy Tab 7, and I really like it. The battery life on the Streak 7 was killing me.
So, if I'm gonna sell it, I should jump now before the prices really tank. Or I could keep it and maybe have a honeycomb tablet...

That's a tough call. I have a Streak 7 and a Galaxy Tab 7 (my wife's, actually), and there are for sure things about the GTab that are superior to the S7; battery life being at the top of the list. I personally think the S7 is far superior (T2, better GPU, 4G, etc.), but it all depends on your usage. My wife would pull her hair out (or mine, probably, since I replaced her last device with it) if her Tab had the issues my S7 has.
As for HC, the S7 will get a good version either from Dell or DJ_Steve. It's just a waiting game. Of course, there will be 7" HC tabs coming out (with better screens and battery life) and there are 10" HC tabs out right now (with better screens and battery life). I still think the S7 is the best tab that could have been, but Dell screwed it all up. It will still be awesome, though, in time.

buy.com has the unlocked 4G version with 3.2 for $289 picked mine up last week and am in the process of replacing my Windows 7 (fully integrated) carpc with it
