[Q] SuperOneClick not working to root my Revo - LG Revolution

Hi folks. I havr searched everywhere for my specific prob with no luck so please help.
I'm trying to root my Revolution LG LTE with SuperOneClick.
I've tried ver. 2.0 and 2.1
My phone is Andriod version 2.2.2
Model VS910 4G
Kernel version 2.6.32.9-perf
Using Verizon.
SuperOneClick lockes up when at ...waiting for device.
Have tried all available exploits (RATC not available) but was told to use that.
Tried SD card mounted and unmounted.
Tried internal memory mounted and unmounted.
Tried Debug node on and off.
Tried commect as mass storage, internet only....well, tried all connect modes.
S1C still locks up while waiting for device.
Anti virus is off on both the PC and the phone.
Could I please get some help rooting this thing? I'd really like to do so.
Thank you very much for your time and effort. I appreciate it very much.

If you are in zv4 then use super1click v. 1.7. It has ratc.

I'm pretty new to all this so I don't know what zv4 is.
EDIT: I got ver 1.7 but it still locks up in the same spot. Not sure what to do here.
Thank you.

After you downgrade to v4 firmware vs910v4 then use s1c 1.7 with ratc exploit. On ur phone make sure you are in internet connection mode when you plug in usb cable to your computer..

Go to Settings>About Phone>Software Version
If it says V4 at the end, then you can root. If it says V6 at the end, then you need to downgrade your software first before you can root. Instructions are posted in the LG Revolution thread.

You can also try to turn USB Debugging off then on again, while the program is
'"stuck." I think I had to run the ROOT process twice, you can try that as well.

I had lots of problems with that too. Download the PDAnet desktop client to your computer, this will install the USB drivers needed. They could probably be installed other ways but that took of the waiting for device issue for me.

Are you blind? UniversalAndroot does not work after 2.2
And anyways, SuperOneClick works great if your drivers are installed correctly...

was a must for me to get this working with WinXP and the Galaxy Fascinate. The PDAnet applicaiton was crucial in getting my PC to recognize the driver. Thanks for the tips all.

I had the same problem and posted my solution in the main SOC thread. Here's what I did:
I used SOC 1.5.1. I had Debugging enabled and turned the phone off. I opened SOC and clicked 'Root.' When the prompt said 'Waiting for Device,' I turned the phone on. SOC did it's thing, and it properly remounted the phone. Everything is good now. I hope this works for you!!!
i have a cliq xt and superoneclick keeps ending with read only, can anyone help?

Can't seem to downgrade

I tried to get the downgrade on my phone. I got to the part where I have to install the .dll and it won't let me. Just to be clear that is just on the computer for now correct? Don't flame me for this question. I have rooted and have used custom roms before just never have had to downgrade.
On another note the V6.tot file will that give the devs a chance to root V6?

I haven't tried to downgrade on a home PC so I don't have any experience on how that is supposed to work..
But the v6.tot is going to be most useful for the latest radio updates, as far as I can tell
Found an iconic home, then revolted
Don't think it will help root.... but that's not as big as an issue as radio updates. You can always downgrade so getting radio is most likely a higher priority

Any help on this issue of not being able to install the .DLL file?
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
I just did this last night to a friend's revo. Give a little more info on the pc, specifically the operating system. I was on win7 x64. I followed This thread and everything worked. Two things though. One, the usb drivers i used were LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.1.1.exe straight from lg. Two, to install VS910.dll put it in "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Models\" and then right click it and install it.
I suspect something went wrong when you installed the components and genericmodels plugins as the dll will not install unless these are properly installed first.
I'm on the same. Windows 7 x64. I put it in the models folder and its saying use what service open the file. Tonight after work I will start from the beginning and see where its at.
Edit: The drivers to install properly said to reboot. Didn't do that as the instructions didn't say to reboot. Maybe I will try that before anything else.

New method found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19390207#post19390207
If you run this and it doesn't root you try wiping data from Setting>privacy and wipe the internal storage as well. I did that and it worked for me. Granted I didn't try this method without wiping my internal. If nothing else it cleans it up for you.

Ok, so whatever changes you made ... it seems to work better in a virtual windows environment
Before it would get stuck at "daemon started succesfully"
now it goes through to "Installing Root Tools..."
but then I get a string of error messeages
either "device offline" or "device not found"
then "cleaning up" ... device not found
then "rebooting" ...device not found
then it freezes
when I unplug my device or toggle debugging mode it continues to say "root complete"
.... so close.
So If I'm rooted on Z4? then I still need to unroot and upgrade to Z6 for this to work?
Thanks a lot man for such this easy one-click-root tool.

[One Click]Updated!!! LG Revo All in One Pkg for Root, CWM 5.0.2.7, and Unroot

This is an All-in-One package to Root and install CWM Recovery or to UnRoot and install the stock recovery. I have spent many hours trying to modify this to be as easy as possible for all to accomplish their goals whether by modding or returning to stock.
What is This?
This is an exploit built by the Revolutionary team, that was ported to the Esteem by djrbliss, then I was able to fix permissions and install su and superuser. The exploit is not built by me, rather by the Revolutionary guys. This zip contains the proper drivers for the Revolution, all root files, and the Root&Recovery.bat file. The .bat has been modified to fix ANY of the problems people are having with root, and will make it so that CWM will stick through reboot. It installs the newest versions of the su binary and Superuser.apk. It will also install ClockWorkMod Recovery also (no need to run RevoToolkit anymore). The unroott will uninstall and delete the su binary and remove Superuser.apk. It will also remove CWM and install the stock ZV7 recovery.img. If there are any problems, just let me know.

Guys I'm trying to get back to 100% to get Gingerbread. I was able to get follow the steps from here:

I got the stock ROM and recovery back, I was able to search and download the first update, but I cannot find the gingerbread update.
And I still have Root and none of the programs seem to work to unroot it, they always get stuck at psneuter or whatever.
I ran this program and it removed root but during the process it showed a lot of "Failed"s
Still cannot find the Gingerbread update under "about phone---->software update---->check new. Says no update available. Anyone help me out?

I just wanted to see what i might be doing wrong...
I can't get the root.bat to recognize the device, I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled, but still am not able to see device ( I can see drives if I set to mass storage, so I know I am connected)
The Revo is brand new out of the box from VZW and froyo ver 2.2.2. Do I need to be on a different OS ver. to get this to work ?
Thanks in advance.

stuck at lg logo at boot after using rom manager to install cwm

So the phone was working fine and i had rooted it. I installed CWM pro and proceeded to use cwm to flash the cwm recovery. It asked me which phone mine is and I chose esteem, because i thought esteem and revolution are the same.. it said flash was successful and i restarted the phone. Ever since I have been stuck at the lg boot logo, and ive tried hard resetting/clearing the phone, and it all seems to go well but it never reloads the operating system. I have tried to put the phone into download/emergency mode by pressing down and power until i see the logo, then releasing, but my pc doesnt seem to recognize any change when i plug in the phone... it did show up once as usb but then installed that driver and nthing has happened since. I downloaded lgpnst or whatever its called. and i installed the 910.dll, but when i plug the phone into it, it never recognizes a port... anyone have any suggestions on what i should do from here?
I literally did the exact same thing on ROM Manager, tried to flash the Esteem rom. D'oh. It sounds like you're almost on the right track, but to get to recovery mode you have to do volume UP (not down) and power button. I was only able to do it when I removed the battery and plugged the phone into my compy for power. Try following the instructions posted here by another member recently:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564941
Good luck!
The revolution is not compatible with ROM Manager. See the development section for all you need to root, ROM, etc
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
ROM Manager only does a "fake" flash of CWM.
On my G2X I had to use NVFlash. Used the revotoolkit to flash my Revo back in the day. That method is out dated now. Use MT's all in one from the dev forum.
kyledyr, Im trying this now.. if this works I owe you... i have tried everything, but didnt know about taking the battery out to get into download mode.. strange, ill report back!
update: YES!!!! DOWNLOAD MODE AT LAST!!!!

I recommend the v7 solely because it can still be rooted, while v8 requires you to root before updating (although that might be changing soon). V8 should be fully stable.

Nice. To root and flash CWM, use MT's AllInOne pack, found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348557
As far as custom roms, that is a point of personal preference. I am using GingerVolt 2.0, which does a great job of eliminating lag, bloatware, and Verizon crap. It is the most stable LG Revolution rom (I believe). I can't say for certain, but I think it shortened my battery life though. I can't tell you which you'll like the best. Check out the Development forum for options. I'm waiting (patiently) for the GV update for V8 before I install V8.
I loaded v7 and it was stuck in test mode, so i loaded v4 and it was no longer in testmode. I reloaded v7 and its back in test mode lol so i am going back to v4, then follow the root and cwm tutorial.. then i'll just put the gingervolt rom on there.. that should update it to v7 when i change the rom right?
No v4 is froyo. You can't put gingervolt over froyo. Test mode has not been found to be able to get out of.
Sent from my VS910 4G using Tapatalk
So im stuck using v4 then until someone finds a way out of test mode?
Mine was also stuck in test mode. It's a bummer, but it's an unfortunate side effect of screwing up the recovery like we both did. It'll work fine other than mounting usb to your computer. I know, sorry. I'm hoping v8 helps with test mode issues.
