Hi folks, I write here because I have a problem with wireless tether and SenseDroid. The only way I've found to tether is via bluetooth but I can't us wifi to create an access point.
Could you recommend me a rom and a kernet where wireless tether works in my xperia?.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there, Can anybody help me? I have researched making my G1 a wireless tether for my laptop and d/l from code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether. However the youtube clip shows a laptop with bluetooth which I don't have! Any suggestions? Many thanks!
PDA-NET app is a great way to do it if your phone is not rooted, look for it in the marketplace its free
Wireless tether doesn't have to use bluetooth, it can send wi-fi. It's in the settings.
Hi, my phone is rooted! Can you suggest any walkthroughs for wifi setup not bluetooth? Many thanks!
Wifi Tether Walkthrough:
1. Download Wifi Tether for Root Users
2. Run it.
Hello all,
I can't setup working BT tethering under Mac OSX (10.5). Could you help me ? N1 uses the newest cyanogen mod stable rom, and I have "Internet tethering" sets to on. Both devices are paired, but what should I do next on OSX side ? Should I install any 3rd party software such as pdanet ?
Is that tethering different than regular bluetooth connection using embedded phone modem ? I'm asking because in Network configuration in OSX Preferences I have BT interface, where I have to provide phone no., login and password.
Thanks in advance, Tomek.
Well I'm pretty new here, but from what I know there is no bluetooth tethering option. Sure you can pair with others bluetooth devices, but there is no stock internet tethering via bluetooth. Once again, afaik.
The stock Froyo tethering is very simple....it turns your N1 into a wireless base station. If you want to do usb tethering then you can use pdanet. I think pdanet also supports bluetooth tethering, but I've never tried it.
Thanks for your reply.
I wonder why Internet tethering option has description "... via USB/BT" ?
We're talking about CyanogenMod 5.0.8-N1
I'd love to know this as well.
The Cyanogenmod 5.0.8 changelog lists that he added BT tethering, available both via Bluetooth PAN, and Bluetooth DUN, using code from Stefan Tomanek aka wertarbyte. It's something called 'omni-tether.'
But I've yet to get it to work. I tried asking in the CM forum, but got no response.
Thanks in advance.
There are detailed posts and instructions here for connectivity for my NC via tethering.
I thought I'd ask the opinions from users who've tried both techniques for connectivity via their cell phone.
I'm using a rooted Droid X, running Barnacle to create an adhoc wifi hotspot for use with my laptop already.
I'd like to be able to use my NC (CM7) by connecting through my phone as well.
The adhoc technique looks good, but the sleep issues and others make it appear a bit tricky.
BT sounds easier, but it looks like a very short connection range.
Opinions as to which you prefer?
Garrett
Use this one __connectify.me (sorry i cant post link yet)
It make a vitural wifi with wpa2 network (not ad-hoc). It works so good that even my kindle can connect to internet through it.
Is this an app for my Droid X, or the NC?
Thanks!
Garrett
Neither. It's for PC.
Hi, everyone.
As one of a Droid-4 user, I recently flashed my D4 to Unofficial CM11 and features what I need are almostly working fine. (thanks stargo)
But I cannot use Bluetooth tethering which is embedded in the ROM or 3rd party BT tethering app, either.
(well, when I used CM10.1.3, I use only 3rd party app and it works well)
Here are the steps (to use embedded BT sharing):
1. Pair Bluetooth on D4 and my tablet.
2. Turn on Bluetooth hotspot on the phone.
3. Turn Internet access option on my tablet.
4. After that, D4 shows that 1 connection is sharing internet access using bluetooth and bluetooth hotspot is activated.
But I can't use internet on my tablet even in this situation.
When following above steps on another phone (iPhone 4 that I borrowed) and my tablet, internet access works great.
So here are my questions.
1. Am I the only one who cannot make use of BT sharing on my D4?
2. If not, is there any possibility that this will be fixed in future update??
Doesn't work for me neither. But wireless hotspot works. I would prefer bluetooth since it probably drains the battery less.

I have no bluetooth tether option on my phone and tried using easy tether to try and get a internet connection but it doesn't connect. For the guys who don't have a bluetooth tether option on your phone how are you guys connecting to the internet using the gear?
Have a search. Been answered a heap of times. There is an included xposed module that you can use to achieve internet connection
