[Q] Froyo in wildfire- Its official

Finally froyo is being rolled out to wildfire this week in europe first.
So if is it possible to get the official update in our phones without losing superuser
privilege? Any developer pls consider this issue and post the official update....
Official update is in HTC facebook.

You say that like it's a bad thing. It's not. Its good.

Hmmm I have downloaded the new update and tried it twice. It was running for an hour so I pressed the power button and then says unable to initiate... I am doing something wrong or is there something else I need to do. I have had a different rom on this phone but reset phone to vodafone standard... Hopefully someone will be able to reply with me being blasted of the site for being a newbie who can not read. However, I have searched long and hard for an answer to this and have yet to find one!

I don't understand...your phone doesn't boot?

LG Back-up app (V10B + D)

Anyone uses the LG Back-up app?
I don't, and if I kill it, my signal is gone.
When the Back-up app is back, I get my signal back plus a msg that says USIM Loaded.
My questions is: Anyone knows how to disable it without loosing signal.
I havn't rooted the phone yet, so I don't know if you freeze the app you won't get any signal.
Can someone try freezing the LG Back-up app to see if you still get signal.

Just froze it on 10d lost signal then came back after a few seconds.

Did you get OTA even when apps are freezed?

Used the LG updater from pc to update to 10d, had most of the LG apps frozen when i did the update with no problems.

Don't use it either, and have always just deleted it off /system/app .. No problems with signal.

I knows, but trough Settings, OTA trough settings.
I remember on my DHD. After rooting and freezing app, I did not recieve OTA. I could force it trough the HTC Sync.

I dont think any one from the UK can do OTA updates, since day 1 with the phone i have had a authentication error when i try to update.

Oooh, here in Netherlands that is fixed since 3/4 weeks.
My question is, is the extra apps eating the battery on v10b/d. Or is it just the new baseband eating the battery.
On v10a I unplugged my phone around 08:00 and when I repluged it back around 23:00 I still had around 43% battery left.
With the v10b I unplug around 08:00 and around 23:00 the battery is around 24%.
And I use it the same way.....

Im in the UK. On vodafone but got an unlocked handset on upgrade.
Cannot do an update via the phone but been able to get 10D via LG update tool

Yeah I can't update through phone but can through the log software update tool so I'm not too botheref by that, computer probably easier than phone.

[Q] HD7 crashes after HTC update - July 27, 2011‏

I got a notification from the phone about a new HTC update on July 27, 2011... I connected my phone to Zune player and started the update (which was estimated to be done in 45 minutes).
Now the update was stuck at the 9th step, which is rebooting the phone, for 2+ hours.. I hesitated and had to unplug my phone from the USB and try to reboot it myself.
Obviously it did not work. Every time I power up my phone I get 6 vibrations and the phone is stuck on the HTC page... I even tried restoring to the factory settings (by pressing power, VolUp and VolDown buttons) but it still fails.
I found this thread on T-mobile community and tried installing a new ROM.

This failed and now the phone is completly dead and I cannot turn it back on again... I cannot even recharge the battery.
Any thoughts guys? Is there anyone who can help me install and reset my phone to it's original state??

Not sure of the specifics, but the HTC update is a firmware and radio upgrade. Most assume it is in preparation for the official Mango release. Those on Mango Beta, such as myself, will have to revert back to NoDo to get that update.

its a firmware update..updates radio .
not sure what its purpose is.

This update is available after you install mango RTM, it will appear right away. Upgrades the radios for the mango version. Could potentially brick a nodo device. Don't know how u managed to get it.....

R U using Mango RTM?

Having a hard time updating my thrill 4G

I just got the thrill 4G and it still has 2.2.2 on it. Well I tried to update it via the phone and it said there is no software update available. So I downloaded the LG update tool and had countless problems such as problem with communication between cell phone and PC. I got it to go once but it keep getting stuck at 8% everytime I try to update it. I downloaded the LG flash tool and followed the instructions properly and got it to go however It still stuck at 8%. Is there any help for me or anyway to update this thing to 2.3.5. I really want thing to update but it just won't. Can someone please help me or walk me through

Hello. Are you trying to upgrade from froyo to gingerbread? There are a few devs that have tools and the components to upgrade. First try acidhazardrom.com. than I think xbsall may have some forums.

Yes I am trying to update to gingerbread however its not going as planned. Thank you I'm going to try that website out and report back here with the results

Ok I went there and it was telling me the same thing that I have been trying to do for the past few days. Any other options or suggestions that I could try?

Also if the LG updater tool from lg fails you may want to try to uninstall the drivers and reboot PC, than reinstall the drivers and reboot PC again. As well, you may want to try a different USB port or even a different computer. These are all things you may have to try. But the link above may just do the trick.

The problem is when it launches it gets the update part then it stops at 8 percent and it doesnt go any further. Then I get a error saying that I am low on virtual memory and windows will increase something and requests from applications will be denied.

Ok so I tried a different computer and it worked! Thanks a lot!!!

HTC one official 4.3 sense 5.5 ota problem

I today received the small bug fix update that gets sent for the 4.3 download to be seen.
As it was a small update I downloaded it and it installed fine over my 3g data connection. Then asked me to restart so I did.
On restart I checked for the main update and the update doesn't show. And the checking seems to take ages checking sometimes not completing and going on for 5mins or more.
I have done *#*#CHECKIN#*#* which works fine.
Just don't understand why the update isn't showing been trying for hours since the small bug fix update.
Anyone else experience anything similar.
Stock HTC one UK unlocked and unbranded

When you go into setting>about phone>software update is it ticked download over wifi only?
If so suggest you first just reboot phone, then you could try to boot into bootloader and type fastboot erase cache then fastboot reboot and try to see if you can down load update again.
I just downloaded the small update, I am now downloading the 3.62 update

Can I just boot into bootloader with vol down and power. I have got to there. But unsure what to do. When I go to recovery. It comes up with a picture of a phone with like the green software update picture for a bit but then goes to a red triangle witha exclamation mark.

Also the checking for software doesn't seem to be acting as it has always done.
Checking takes forever and usually doesn't give me the "your device is up to date" message at all. If the screen goes off during checking the checking stops or if the screen is rotated. Even tried it putting screen timeout to 10 minutes and just has "checking" on the entire time.

All sorted now. Had to do a hard reset. And then the bug fix update popped up again and then 4.3 update.
