HTC one official 4.3 sense 5.5 ota problem - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there
I today received the small bug fix update that gets sent for the 4.3 download to be seen.
As it was a small update I downloaded it and it installed fine over my 3g data connection. Then asked me to restart so I did.
On restart I checked for the main update and the update doesn't show. And the checking seems to take ages checking sometimes not completing and going on for 5mins or more.
I have done *#*#CHECKIN#*#* which works fine.
Just don't understand why the update isn't showing been trying for hours since the small bug fix update.
Anyone else experience anything similar.

When you go into setting>about phone>software update is it ticked download over wifi only?
If so suggest you first just reboot phone, then you could try to boot into bootloader and type fastboot erase cache then fastboot reboot and try to see if you can down load update again.
I just downloaded the small update, I am now downloading the 3.62 update

Can I just boot into bootloader with vol down and power. I have got to there. But unsure what to do. When I go to recovery. It comes up with a picture of a phone with like the green software update picture for a bit but then goes to a red triangle witha exclamation mark.

Also the checking for software doesn't seem to be acting as it has always done.
Checking takes forever and usually doesn't give me the "your device is up to date" message at all. If the screen goes off during checking the checking stops or if the screen is rotated. Even tried it putting screen timeout to 10 minutes and just has "checking" on the entire time.

All sorted now. Had to do a hard reset. And then the bug fix update popped up again and then 4.3 update.

reset notify

Anybody else getting random request for su access for a process named reset notify?
Sent from my rooted unlocked rommed HTC One, on the Sprint network.
I beleive it is the message that pops up asking if you want to send a crash report to HTC after the phone was "reset" incorrectly. Usually happens when I choose to reboot to bootloader or recovery when I boot back up.
You can go to settings > about > Tell HTC and error reporting to turn it off.

I go to Settings about and I don't see that option however Titanium Backup Pro had absolutely no issue freezing the application so for now that's the fix for me.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. In an old thread for the HTC ChaCha the ResetNotify.apk is described as being ok to remove, albeit carefully.
I've uninstalled the app, but my One still resets sometimes?
Not all, but symstemapps that i've deinstalled with titanium, apps which i disconnected from market are connected again.

iam testing now a new
could this be the notification clear app? I only get the su request when i have something on the notification panel or on the lockscreen.
I have custom Kernel (Elite), ViperX+ 2.0.3 and it happened also to me (last time a couple of minutes ago).
Is it already a known/solved issue ? I've searched on the forum and come over here ... Is it safe to remove ?
Thanks,

[Q] Unlocked HTC One fails during 4.2.2 OTA Update

I bought an unlocked HTC One. I get the notification for OTA, I download it as well. When the installation starts, the phone reboots, and installation starts. Around 25% later, it reboots again, tries to install again and after 25%, it stops and gives that warninign error sign and stays there. If I leave the phone alone, it will reboot and start working again after 3-4 mins. Then I will again get the OTA notification and the saga continues. I have tried doing many things like resetting, erasing phone and starting afresh etc. I have not done any mod on the phone...Please help someone...
Is a custom recovery installed?

Nope....I have not changed anything on the phone. Its whatever it had when I bought it brand new off the shelf....

[Q] Software update failed

Hey all,
I just got a notification on PC companion that a new update was available. "Jolly good!" I thought, and without hesitation, I clicked "update". Alas, that turned out to be a bad idea. My PC gave me an error: " An error has occurred and the phone / tablet software update was aborted. Click retry to restart the phone / tablet software.". I clicked retry, followed the steps presented to me, but got the same exact result on the second and the third try. When I try to start my phone now, it says "software update failed, please connect to you computer" or something of the sorts. Has anyone run into the same issue? And if so, have you managed to fix it?
The phone is a Dutch T-mobile branded version.
edit: I'm ashamed to admit I hadn't properly searched around, and thus I didn't know the update service existed. Currently, I'm trying to replicate the success this post spawned. Will report back with results.
update: no luck yet. The update service has been stuck on this position for about 20 minutes now. Not good. Any ideas?
2nd update: failure. I get this screen. Again, any ideas?
3rd update: When I plug the phone into a wall charger, it goes into a loop of completely off -> red led -> sony logo -> "software update failed, make sure the phone is connected to the computer and try again." -> repeat. This means I'm probably just discharging it at the moment. I have no idea what the current battery level is, because it wont start to a single screen showing it. I cant be sure it's above 50% like this.
Thank you in advance.

I get the same issue when i tried to update OTA to the .593 O2 UK branded firmware. I am rooted though (but still locked bootloader) so just assumed that was the problem but perhaps not.
Anyone any ideas?
Try with Sony update service.

It turned out to be a driver problem; fixed by using another computer. For some more details, see this thread.

[Q] Stock HTC One bricked during 4.3 update

My phone started doing the 4.3 OTA update last night, when the download got to about 43% the phone powered off and now wont turn on again.
The phone is completely stock. S-ON, no root.
When I connect it to the PC it tries to install drivers for QHUSB_DLOAD.
I take it the phone is bricked and has to go back for repair?

QHUSB_DLOAD -> yep, i would say hard-brick, needs a motherboard replacement.
OK, thanks, just organising to send it back, hopefully the new one will already have the update.
I take it no-one else has had any problems with the OTA update and this was just a one off?
This was in the UK on Vodafone.

Not that I can recall, saw a few posts where it sometimes got stuck and had to force a reboot (manually), but not a hard brick. I guess the OTA got stuck updating hboot, and failed which would cause a brick I think.

By download, you mean downloading the OTA or installing it?
It was just in the middle of downloading it from HTC, got to about 43% and then powered down.
My htc one m7 phone is stuck too. How do you 'send it off' for a motherboard replacement and how much will it cost? Is it under warranty?
Can I go to the sprint store?
I'm on Vodafone UK and before I got the upgrade to 4.3, I got a small update just first, then the main 4.3 it installed ok and have had no problems as yet. Just wondering if the users that have had problems, got this small update first.

Actually this seems to me more like a hardware issue. The phone can't just power down in the middle of the download, and it can't flash anything from inside the OS, it has to be in recovery. It's just a coincidence that you were doing the update.

Newb here.. Unlocked update?

Hello guys. Im having some trouble here. I purchased this htc one used about a yr ago. These last couple of weeks I have been getting update screens and when i hit ok to update it downloads and when it installs it freezes about 30% in and i have to hold the power and vol up under a light to reboot it in which it loads into a screen with a red triangle. I reboot it again and it boots phone normal.
Now i did a little research and i believe my phone is unlocked. I just watched a 15 min video of unlocking bootloader and root. This one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260376. At the end There was a app called SuperSU. I have always wondered what that was for and i do have that on my phone.
I would like to update my phone but have no clue what needs to be done or where to even start...
Any help would be much appreciated.

Update will not be applied until and unless you have a fully stock rom locked or relocked bootloader.
in this case you will have to run the ruu of your phone.

Ok. Looks like il be doing more research. I do not know what a stock Rom locked or relocked bootloader is nor where to get it. Same goes for a guy. I'll look it up.
