Anybody else getting random request for su access for a process named reset notify?
Sent from my rooted unlocked rommed HTC One, on the Sprint network.
I beleive it is the message that pops up asking if you want to send a crash report to HTC after the phone was "reset" incorrectly. Usually happens when I choose to reboot to bootloader or recovery when I boot back up.
You can go to settings > about > Tell HTC and error reporting to turn it off.

I go to Settings about and I don't see that option however Titanium Backup Pro had absolutely no issue freezing the application so for now that's the fix for me.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. In an old thread for the HTC ChaCha the ResetNotify.apk is described as being ok to remove, albeit carefully.
I've uninstalled the app, but my One still resets sometimes?
Not all, but symstemapps that i've deinstalled with titanium, apps which i disconnected from market are connected again.

What rom do you have?
Sent from my lair.
iam testing now a new
could this be the notification clear app? I only get the su request when i have something on the notification panel or on the lockscreen.
I have custom Kernel (Elite), ViperX+ 2.0.3 and it happened also to me (last time a couple of minutes ago).
Is it already a known/solved issue ? I've searched on the forum and come over here ... Is it safe to remove ?
Thanks,

Hello,
A friend of mines recently gave me her HTC Legend because it was stuck on some loading screen.
It's isn't rooted.
She tried the OTA update for her device and since she did so, when the phone start, it doesn't ask for her pin code or what so ever, sense boot up, and then it keeps getting stuck on the loading screen when sense should appears.
Then after a few secondes it says : com.android.phone couldn't boot. Do you want to wait, force close, or send report.
I can handle my HTC hero but her legend seems different.. + without custom recovery I don't even now how to wipe or anything.
Anyway, could you FIRST tell me if there is a way, to try to re-apply the update (OTA not possible anymore since sense doesn t boot..).. or is there any chance not to wipe the phone ( cause she hasn t saved her contacts, messages etc)..
And if not.. how can I hard reset her phone (step by step please)
Thanks in advance guys!!
Use a search in the forums for the appropriate RUU.
Also, do not post questions in the development section.

Oups sorry, can a moderator move the thread?
Once i have the official RUU.. how can i flash it without a custom recovery?
I get exactly the same thing pull your sim car out start the phone up and complete all of the set up screens once you are into android turn phone off put sim back in it should work fine, but you will get a message about the sim being chanmged press clear if you press to change settings you will get another error and dont go into the apn settings or things get a little bit messy
To flash your carriers RUU, you may need a "goldcard" but turn off your phone and press the back button and power on the phone,to get to the fastboot screen, connect the phone to your pc and run the RUU.

If she recently updated to 2.2, then that's the problem. Plenty of people (me included) had this issue. No need to re-apply the OTA update or (re-)flash a ROM, just sync her contacts/calendar/mail to Google and backup apps via Astro.
Then do a factory reset and re-sync/install from backup. That's all it takes. Works like a charm after! ;-)
Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. Also, I'm from Turkey so execuse me for my English.
I've a problem on my rooted Incredible S. I'm using latest Trinity SensationXL rom.
After flashing, I set up all the accounts (HTC Sense, Google, Facebook and Evernote). They work fine except Google. When I try to access Android Market, I'm getting "No connection" error. There's a button named "Try Again" but clicking it does nothing, same screen shows up. Sometimes Market opens but I cannot install any app.
I've tried these:
1) Re-syncing by Settings->Accounts and Sync->Google->Sync Now.
It couldn't perform. Shows me an error: "Syncing has some problems. It'll be back soon." The last date successfully synced is the date I've flashed the new rom.
2) Backing up and restore.
I had a backup after 3 days of flashing via CWM. Restoring this backup gives me nothing.
Please help.
Thx in adv.

Of course I did. But nothing changes.
As I said: Sometimes it comes, sometimes doesn't.
Now I'mm trying the same thing over wi-fi, no problem now.
This means that the problem comes from 3G connection, I think.

hey guys, my IncS is stock as a rock bought it from optus here in melbourne. the past couple days ive been getting random reboots. i was just on the phone for like 5 mins, hung up, walked to my lounge, put the phone down then 2 seconds later the htc boot screen came up, is their a reason its doing this ?
Did you purchase the fone recently?
If yes, then you may want to take it back and get it checked.
If not, then it could be an app you installed recently which could be causing the problem.
Check to see all the apps you installed before this issue started & uninstall the/those apps.
if it still doesn't help, back up your phone & do a factory reset.
alternately of course you could root your phone & try some of the roms here

OK, then it sounds like you need to start removing your installed apps until you find the culprit.

After the forced AT&T software update, my WiFi will not turn on. I will go into WiFi settings, press the toggle button, and it will grey out and get stuck on "Turning on WiFi". I have tried wiping both caches, and I have replaced the bcmdcm.ko under system\lib\modules with bcm4330.ko, which was the one from the stock ROM. Nothing has worked and this problem persists. I am rooted and my bootloader is unlocked. Is there anything short of doing a full factory reset that can fix this problem?
Please post in the appropriate section.

Have you tried flashing the boot.img via fastboot? That seems to help a lot of people.

Ok I've googled around alot and looked on this forum but I can't find a boot.img anywhere that isn't modified. Can you point me to the stock boot.img?
My mom has a Vivid and her phone has been doing this ever since the update was pushed down by AT&T. Since she lives 1000 miles from me, I didn't root her phone, and leaving it stock, the only thing that ended up working was a factory reset. The other thing that was happening after the update was every boot would go through the "Optimizing application 1 of x..." message like it does after the update. I get the impression that whenever she performed the mandatory AT&T update, something didn't go correctly, which is why her Wi-Fi was permanently stuck in this "Turning on Wi-Fi" state. It seems to be working perfectly now, and we no longer see the "Optimizing..." message either when the phone reboots. Now I won't have to do remote tech support when she flies back home next week

I think this is my next step. I tried flashing boot.img, but that didn't work. Does anyone have any other solutions short of this?

it could just be a problem with the kernels, i was experiencing this even before the update.
Are you on a cusotm rom and/or custom kernel?

Did you install the kernel? If you're s-on you need to fastboot flash the kernel image.
