Speculation regarding the update has gone on and on in this subforum. Any threads created regarding, speculating or otherwise asking for the update will be locked and eventually deleted. We don't know, and won't know, obviously, until it happens, so let's not clutter up the forum needlessly. Thank you for your understanding.

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your e-mail.
Firstly we apologise for any inconvenience caused. The Android 2.3 update for the LG P970 was initially released on the 12th of December this year. However, there was an issue found with the update making it impossible for certain people from updating. Because of this we have temporarily disabled access to the update until we can find the source of the problem and resolve it.
Because of this we do not have a current timeframe regarding the re-release date of Android 2.3. Due to this we would suggest sporadically checking the LG blog on www.lgblog.co.uk. This is where we will first post new information regarding Android 2.3 and its re-release date for the LG P970.
We hope this information has been useful to you, if you have any further queries please feel free to contact ourselves again via e-mail or on 0844 8475454.
Best Regards,

Thanks for sharing the information.
A bit later than expected compared to others like Motorola, Samsung and HTC. But better late than never, I guess.

now i already july, but still no info for gingerbread ..
You will never get Gingerbread update haha!
Eventually when other devices will be already on Ice Cream.
O2X is the biggest disappointment of the year!
Last indication was September. However they didn't specify what year

Depends on your point of view.
I bought it to use with CM7, not stock.
The newest 10c stock works great for me. It isn't slow and i got no problems.
I have tried most of the roms and stock is the best for me
I would have expected that most people should know by now that all dates given for any LG updates are FALSE, so please stop posting these messages and just wait.
Its done when its done and in this case its taking much too long (but thats the only thing lg is good at: keeping their customers waiting)

Hey guys, we have been hard at work with all the crazy fast updates that have been going on as well as throwing in some new work into the mix. With CyanogenMod updating as normal we wanted to bring you some newly themed features give everything a deeper theming run through, and we have a lot of new mods. The Contacts and Phone applications were completely redesigned by DJdarkknight96 and you will see more his work through out the Gtalk, Facebook, Twitter, GVoice, Maps, Wifi calling, SystemUI, Gmail, Framework, and so more mods as you roam around. This is all in Forbidden-v2 and good news we cover the original Droid now and we will be covering another two devices like the G2x and the Thunderbolt. They will be released as we get stable builds to work off of. For more new and what not to keep in the loop with all of our work and future ideas as well as other Android news visit Our Blog...The other crazy amount of updates are coming from P3Droid and his partners with leaks of Gingerbread and Blur for the Droid X and Droid 2. Those have almost been coming out to fast to worry about building then testing and so on so we pass on as few problems as possible. With all that said I we are going to wait till the 13th of May to release anymore Gingerbread build of Forbidden so that we can work on the official build that will be and OTA build. May 13th should be the day we see it start to roll out. For more news and information on the Gingerbread leaks and the official OTA update visit Our Blog...We have also been hard at work on another theme for everyone. We have been at it for quite a while, but it is all slowly coming together. To give you a little background on the theme in the making. It is called Dark Flare and it will be slightly more minimalistic than Forbidden but will be pumped full of two contrasting colors. It's hight light and lighter color will be a dark orange with about a half transparent black in which will feature 24 custom icons made by StuntinX (aka Acid'smark) and will have a lot of the same mods thrown in by DJdarkknight96. Similar to the mods that are also in Forbidden-v2. Ljbaumer is throwin down on some framework right now and everything is looking great. We can't wait to release this and see it all pulled together and we hope everyone here feels the same. If you want to keep up with the updated info on this theme and others as well as other Android news follow us over to our Team MagnaM0d blog...
All of the downloads are on the homepage of our website about half way down http://www.magnam0d.com, all you need to do is select downloads under your phone and then click whichever version you want.

OxygenOS release cycle:
Closed Beta
(2 updates per month)
This is where all OxygenOS code begins. Sometimes, these builds are referred to as “alpha builds”.
Here, our software team tests new (and sometimes experimental) code and features.
The big goal here is to get initial feedback on new ideas. These builds lack the stability of polished software
but offer early access. New code and features often come to Closed Beta builds
weeks or months before going public. In order to receive Closed Beta builds, you have to apply
to be a certified Closed Beta tester. This is quite an elite crew, though, as we usually
only accept around 100 Closed Beta testers for each device at any given time.
Open Beta
(1 update per month)
Once a new feature or change passes initial quality tests in Closed Beta, they’ll be added to Open Beta.
Since these builds are available for anyone to try, we’re doubling down
on our efforts to collect and implement feedback to ensure the software is much more stable
and less likely to include major bugs when compared to Closed Beta builds.
To make a long story short, Open Beta is the second, semi-public step for feedback and bug testing,
ensuring that only the best code makes it to official release.
Official Release (OTA)
(1 update every 1-2 months)
This is the final step. Once code has undergone several rounds of internal and community feedback
throughout the Closed and Open Beta programs, the best of the best is released
on the official version of OxygenOS. These are the updates that you automatically receive via OTA
if you don’t opt into any sort of beta program. In a nutshell, these are the builds
that go out to all of our users across the globe. While these builds are stable and polished,
the feedback doesn’t stop. We still continue to collect and analyze feature requests and bug reports,
and we actually have some big things in the works to make the feedback process even better.

Hi everyone, like you I have a Moto Edge 2020 (The one with the SD765G 6GB/128GB), I know most of you were upset after the official motorola A12 update list and not seeing our phone in that list.
While I read most of the forums, I found that in an official Lenovo forum, a developer said that there are no plans on releasing Android 12 on Moto Edge 2020
As of today (February 1st 2022), I sent a mail to Motorola España/Latinoamérica to get further information about the update rollout of Android 12, and to know if the Motorola Edge will be receiving that update.
They answered pretty quickly and said:

}
Which translated to english states:
Given the technical information at our disposal, your Motorola Edge "at the moment will stay on Android 11. It's programmed to receive security updates. It's planned to update the device to Android 12, but there is not exact date for that yet"
So it may seem that they WILL be updating the Moto Edge to Android 12, but not yet. I personally don't fall for that, but at least is some kind of hope.
One of the main reasons I want A12 is because of how buggy A11 is.
Have you tried using the Edge Triggers on moto gametime? After using them, the edge screen sensibility goes up to the clouds and the only way to fix that is to reboot the phone. There is plenty of bugs and things to fix on A11 that I think the best they can do is to release A12 as the final update and with future bugfixes make that the definitive (or at least trying to) version for Motorola Edge.
Let me know your thoughts this is my first XDA post ever, I hope you find it useful
nice news, sad how they butchered the edge display with android 11, i really like moto edge, but i got green tint, and was too lazy to send it back XD
