Hi there,
I'm wondering if there's a way to unify the entire bootup process so that it just displays one static image. Currently mine starts up immediately with this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Which I flashed from the stock NBH found here. But then after displaying that for a few seconds it switches to the same screen with a black background, and then it switches to the swirling colours of the Nexus One animation.
Is there a way to make all three processes the same, so it just shows that same HTC logo with a white background all the way through? Or at the very least shows the HTC logo with either background until the Nexus One animation starts.
Hope that made sense.
Thanks
In actuality you should have four boot screens.
1. Is a static image that does not do anything
2. Is the Rom loader screen
3. Is a short screen that displays a static image
4 Is the moving splash screen, which sometimes is two files, does not have to be tho.
The only thing you can do, and we'll use your HTC image as the example is flash all the screens except #2 to be the same image, when it gets to the moving splash, there is a splash screen in the forums somewhere exactly like your only it has a green loading bar with dots. There is a lot involved with this if you are inexperienced so I'd suggest you do the proper research as each number listed above may or may not be a different process, and most importantly, BACK UP! BACK UP! BACK UP!.

Thanks for the reply. This explains a few things - I thought things had gone terribly wrong when I ended up with 4 screens. Anyway, what I ended up doing is keeping the default screen for this ROM which stays on through the second and third screens (black HTC screen) and then flashing that same image to the first screen. So now I get the black screen all the way through until the boot animation, which is the stock Nexus One one.
I've just spend a while researching and collecting bits together to make it so my phone keeps the green HTC on white background throughout the steps.
I modified the initrd for tytung's 12.3 to have the same screen as above, then my bootanimation is the same but the writing "quietly brilliant" is written below then stays on screen.
I don't reboot very often, but it's nice to have them all the same when I do.

The issue I had with this is that my ROM requires you to flash an extra kernel zip afterwards for cLK, and this contained the boot.img with initrd in. I tried modifying this with a new boot image but it ended up breaking things. Still, I'm happy with how it is now.

There was a thread like this in the Kaiser Forum so I thought there should be one in the Raphael Forum as well. I'll start it off with a couple. I look forward to seeing the different ideas everyone comes up with.
To download the ones that I have attached, just click on the pic.
To change your splash's use the information provided in THIS thread. Everything you need to create your own is there.
Now, the first three came from the Xperia. The 4th one is an O2 splash screen.
Once again, just click the pic to get the download link.
Another O2 Splash screen from the Kaiser days.
These are linked to one file which includes the splash, welcomehead and the wallpaper. Shown in boot order.
Once again, just click the pic to get the download link.
just one more
I'm gonna take one too for later
and maybe a second, just in case
Heres my custom vegas splash and the stock O2 splash

@ everyone.
Please feel free to request custom splash screens and I will do my dead level best to get them done as soon as possible.
Ill make a requiest.
I think it would be COOL to see a "fluid boot" with some CIA stuff. Like a CIA logo and then it scroll some test saying something to the effect of linking a secure connection. I know this was started in the kaiser section A LONG time ago but to my knowledge it was never finished.
Let me see what I can come up with. Are you saying kinda like the one I linked above with the guns? 1st screen being the logo and the welcomehead being the logo with text?
Gimme a min and lemme see what I can do.
Cool thanks man.
I second that motion...
CIA "like" logo then some kind of like DOS screen stating "Attempting SECURE connection..must not be located in a SCIF for proper connection..." I dont know something like that would be cool...
Shown in boot order. Download the file, unzip and copy the welcomhead.192 to your \Windows folder, then rename the .nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh and copy to SD card and then enter bootloader and allow to flash. Once completed, your all done. Hope this is what your looking for.
And just so you know.............
Inhabitants of the United States should consider the following then using this image:
CIA Act of 1949 (50 U.S.C. section 403m):
No person may, except with the written permission of the Director, knowingly use the words “Central Intelligence Agency”, the initials “CIA”, the seal of the Central Intelligence Agency, or any colorable imitation of such words, initials, or seal in connection with any merchandise, impersonation, solicitation, or commercial activity in a manner reasonably calculated to convey the impression that such use is approved, endorsed, or authorized by the Central Intelligence Agency.

Sweet, Tater tot you are a stone cold
THANKS TATER! haha you went above and beyond.
Which splash screen(s) are these meant to replace?
The 1st carrier animation splash or the 2nd Windows Mobile spash?
It looks like the green Win Mob 6.1 since its a static image.
Does one just rename it to the correct name and copy it into \windows\?
Thanks

The .nbh replaces the 1st boot screen. The welocomehead.192.png replaces the 2nd splash screen.
Will the ones in the kaiser thread work on the Rapheal?
Sorry, still new to some of this.

No. Different screen size.
Kaiser = 240x320
Raphael = 480x640
However, you can extract the nbh content, resize the pics, patchsplash and then rebuild the .nbh.
This is R2D2 inspired boot animation for Android. it's pretty simple and straight forward.
This is my first attempt with boot animations, please be kind

I made this to work with my Kaiser running VaniljEclair RLS7c
I was thinking about making another version where R2D2 shoots a laser beam at an apple but it needs a lot of work, I'll probably try with it later
How to install:
on WM devices with Android installed instead of WM (Kaiser, Vogue..etc)
Unpack the attachment, and copy androidupdate.tar to your SD card. put in andboot folder
Now you have to Install the update: I quote this from “How to replace Windows Mobile with Android”
Place the SD card in your phone and power on your Kaiser. When you see text on your screen hold down the D-pad. D-pad is that button in the center of your up, down, left, right buttons. Keep holding down the D-pad until you see something like this appear on your screen.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Choose install update: you will see then some lines and then word Installing.
When finished, choose quite, or soft rest.
You’re done enjoy your new boot screen
For Android HTC devices:
Extract the contents of androidupdate.tar, you will see bootanimation.zip, then you might follow the instructions here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623960
I wish I can explain more here, but again I don’t have Android device. Just a HD2 and my old Kaiser.
I got the R2D2 picture from this site
http://www.members.shaw.ca/david.p.z.888/star_wars/r2-d2.html
And the loading animation from this awesome place, it has tons of customizable loading animations
http://ajaxload.info/
I have also made R2D2 splash screen for Kaiser, I'm not sure whether it will work on other devices or not..
Thanks a lot for zenity for providing the programs to make splash screen
Make sure you back up your data before messing with your deivce
I hope you like it
Thanks Duke, lol, I'm just gonna download and install these both on my kaiser.
Your just lucky, I keep all sorts of stuff on my HDD, some of it's bound to come in handy someday, ( packrat mentality, you should see my attic, well, if you can get past 15 years of stuff that I may need someday.....).
Just a quick note, the Kaiser IS an android device, just not a Native android device
Lol
I was like you. but my HDD failed couple of month ago, and I had to start from scratch, and many of the older stuff aren't available online
The kaiser is definitely an Android device, and I'm loving it. my only wish is that if it had a flush screen.. that would've been very nice.
I can't wait for a similar android for my HD2

Hi, is it possible to put an animation as a splash screen. There's one that I would really like to have, it's the the boot animation from one of the old Windows. If yes, is it going to be any harder to make than the usual splash screen?

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but would you like to make this image into a splash screen? I am working on making it into a full boot animation and the splash screen would compliment it I would love you forever since I cannot remember how to cook up splash screens (and too lazy to look it up again) haha

Splash Screen
Can you make me a splash screen with this image?
Greetings HD2 brethren! I present to you YABS (yet another boot screen...lol)! I call this the 'Contextualize This!' Edition. For the last month, I have been using Windows Phone 7 Series; shockingly inspired by the highly contextual graphical user interface. I find myself pleasantly enjoying my experience with this new OS therefore I whipped this baby up on Photoshop. Let me know what you think. Also, I took the liberty of packaging a bitmap image of the boot screen in case anyone wants to make modifications before flashing (for examaple, I have my boot screen show my name and contact information in case my device gets lost). Please note: if you wish to modify, you will have to recompile the *.nbh image).
About the design/modifications:
New 'HD2' Logo. The number two is represented in its roman numerical form (e.g. II) with the 'HD' marker centered between these two pillars.
Monochromatic...'nuff said.
Foreground is composed of random text/characters; the basis of this theme.
Modified the Win Mo 6.5.x logo (simply put '6.5.x' in the lower right quadrant) and Android logo (It is now waiving! )

Sent from my Nexus 7
Okay, viewing my own attachment picture from my computer right now and it looks nothing wrong :crying:. So this is screen problem, not the display, so screen capture is useless...
Try taking a picture of the screen with a camera.
Are you meaning like an image retention issue (where previous screens are still "showing through" what's currently being displayed?
(For example, you'd see a faint image of your homescreen when in the Settings panel)
Sorry for the late reply, been too worried about not able to get my RMA...

I did try to take some pictures with my phone camera, but the screen had too much reflection that it's hard to tell from the pictures.
However, I did found Androidpolice had a good report on it with same issue and they were having hard time taking the pictures too

Yes, I believe is the retention issue and worse. My screen got worse each day before RMA came. Screen is pretty much in a VERY BRIGHT LIGHT ( I wouldn't even call it color white because it's really just shinny light) stage before I even unlock the screen. All the light seems to begin to go away after about 10-15 mins of screen use time, then the display will only showing some few "ghost" problem between screen to screen. Maybe this something to do with IPS been too cold? Need a warm start like my old car? lol..j/k
I did made a video of it on that first night it happen, hopefully it will provide some kind of idea how it looks like.

So I called Google on 7/29 for RMA, and got my replacement on 8/2. So far crossing my finger on the second Nexus 7 from Google.....Thanks.
