[Q] Edit text on lockscreen - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I need to edit the text on the screen when lockscreen. I wish I could do it from the same phone. Thank you.

use root explorer and edit line in built.prop...if im not wrong

Stop asking that question!!!
I guess you're using GDX or GC. If you have just a bit of respect for the developers, leave it as it is!

For what to do this ? I like that i hava doixanh's signature on my lockscreen

To me it's not disrespect, just a detail that I put my girlfriend on the phone. If for you a lack of respect for me it is.

By the way, you're not one to tell people they should and should not ask. You start respecting others and not judge so much.

ok, I am "thing" to ask, but I'll ask

To OP. I said stop asking that question because it has been asked at least 5 times (and answered) and you should have searched first then open a new thread. Follow the rules.

remove #need lockscreen text from build.prop

You are right.
These kind of issues were the most common issue here in XDA. Mostly done by the newly registered and newly born members...
I don't know why some of the other members registered for months are also doing the same thing.
See this.

dude, what are you talking about?
Just remove #need text lockscreen and line or two below it, from build.prop
I removed lockscreen text from FroyoBread and now from GingerCruzt. Or if you wish you can just edit it and put what you want there.
Best way is to edit on PC with Notepad++ .

They are in framework-res /drawable-mdpi and they are png files. Not even 9.png files, so you can edit them easily. They are called ic_jog_dial somethings....
Hope that's what you're looking for. They are called ic_jog_dial somethings....
woops. sorry. I saw that you're trying to change the text. I dont know where that is. It's definitely not a png. I've been through all the pngs. It must be in one of them xml's. Sorry!

[Q] HTC Hero Sprint Icon Question

Is it possible to change icons? If so, how?
My phone is rooted, and using the stock rom it came with from Sprint.
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Software: 2.27.651.5
Thanks for the help!
If you use launcher pro from the market as your launcher you can change the icons and the name too...
Long press on a blank space and add the app you want...tap on its picture to load your gallery and choose whatever icon you would like...there are plenty to download...
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Hm.. That's a quick way, thanks Vandelay007. Do you happen to know a way without using Launcher Pro though? Oddly enough, I like the default launcher.

Download Desktop Visualizer from the Market. Allows you to put custom icon shortcuts anywhere on your desktop for just about anything. You can't change any of the taskbar or menu icons, but it does allow you to change/customize any icons you put on your desktop home screens.

I'll definitely use this way next time though. You can't imagine how long it takes a "n00b" to find the Folder shortcut icon.
Thank you everyone for your help.

Looks like he did... I have to say, if this guy describes himself as a noob, and he managed to search and figure out how to theme without needing to aska lot of questions, I shudder to think what we have to call the people who not only don't know what they're talking about, but also can't search for it...
You can't believe how happy I am to see search work that well. It kind of scares me how happy I am.

Haha, thanks for the compliment! It really wasn't that hard to be honest. Just resize the png, rename it, and find where to put it. Once you figure out that you can open .apk files with 7zip, the rest is a cake walk!
The problem with most n00bs is that they don't want to get their hands dirty... and the laziness! Haha.

[MOD] Modded Music Player App

Not much to see here. Just a modded MusicPlayer.apk to display "Music" in the launcher instead of "Music Player". Posted here on XDA for people who actually care
update.zip (flashable with CWM)
Standalone .apk (place in /system/app/)
oh nvm it doesnt work.... .......

that doesn't change the display name, lose the attitude because you're clueless.
NICE i always thought the pink square with the pink notes was a little girly for my tastes......
I assume just flash the update zip>? no need to rename and flash zip from sd card like a new rom or theme?
You can flash it or pull it from the zip and put it in system/app with root explorer.

If you didnt have an attitude why did you do the massive line of dots which would imply you were being condescending towards him or pointing out the obvious...

Uhmmm, can you just send me your Phone.apk (I thought it is Dialer.apk but I could have it wrong) then I'll take a look on it, maybe I can find something.
Do you know you have to use apktool/APK-Multi-Tool ??
Oh yes, and, posting a screenshot will make your problem somewhat clearer.

I hope you can help this newbie
Oh sorry for not posting my Screenshot, I read it after I post this. But I'm using my original DPI because I need to make calls.
