Hi. My P-Code is GT-1900LKAYOG but I can find no reference to that anywhere. When the phone first boots it displays YOIGO for a second or so. I believe this is a Spanish carrier. Does anybody know if this is a legitimate P-Code and if we will get rom updates?
Plug it into Kies and it will tell you very quickly.
It will either say (I'm paraphrasing here as I don't know the exact words)
1. You have the latest firmware
2. A Firmware update is available
or
3. This is an unapproved ROM. Updates are not available
Thanks but part of the problem is that I don't have access to a Windows or Mac machine (running Ubuntu) so I don't have this option.
Open the phone, enter *#1234# and post back the PDA/PHONE/CSC versions and I will try CheckFusDownloader to see if I can figure out the right string to check.
By the way - how do you expect to get those updates if you don't have Kies available ?

I have never heard of an I1900 - Are you sure it is not a GT-I9000 ?
Go to Applications->Settings->About phone and see what is listed under "Model number"
If you have the model code right then you are in the wrong forum.
Sorry that was a typo. Supposed to be I1900

You mean GT-I9100 ... clicking on your link above takes me to the GT-I9100 forum.
Looking up your phone with CheckFusDownloader 1.2 says it is a real firmware, and the latest published for your phone. Check out http://fus.nanzen.se/ for details.
And you are in the wrong forum
You should be posting in this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1056
Ok, thanks for the info.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S which would have been due it's Froyo update.
A mate said he would update it for me manually.
My phone on the whole works (except the clock is never right, pinch/zoom on home-screens doesn't work) as it should but would prefer to have the official update when it is ready.
Will I be able to get the update when it is ready or will I have to rollback to 2.1?
If I need to rollback could someone give me a link (or step by step instructions) please?
My phones details are as follows:
Android Version 2.2
Baseband Version: I9000XXJP2
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 ([email protected] #1)
Build Number GT-I9000-eng 2.2 MASTER 332 test-keys.332
My friend isn't get anywhere near my phone again.....
Stuck in the same situation here mate.....
Type *#272*(the phones imei number found in settings about phone)# the select from the list xeu (if u live in europe otherwise select the one u need) . Then update via kies.
If u want to have ur operaters firmware u will need to download a emulator and root ya phone and hack the phone. I think theres a post on xda for it

Thanks for that but when I key in *#272*IMEI# I get "USSD code running" and then "UNKNOWN APPLICATION" and then nothing.
Any odeas?
Instead of typing imei could try typing current time on the phone in 24h format like for 14:51 it would be 1451
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
If u cant get that to work just do the the reg hack.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\4]
"SoftwareRevision"="I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3"

"HIDSWVER"=""
"DEVCONINFO"=""
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\]
"LocalVer"="1.5.3.10103.100"
Ya might still want to check your phone is on the correct region after and if not use the *#272*imei# trick

Don't bother mate. I was in the same boat, installed the older version of Kies, hacked the registry, and it updated to JPO. But trust me, it's garbage. Look for one of the popular custom JPOs instead, that's what I'm off to do now.

I'm needing a bit of help with this also I'm afraid. I got fed up waiting for my upgrade so decided to take matters into my own hands. Flashed my phone to JM1 which was them same version of 2.1 as my friend who has an unbranded phone was running. I assumed that I would get to update to 2.2 just as he had. However, it says my device cannot be updated. Now my service provider has released my update but I can't find the JM3-JM4 files on Samsung Firmware site to get me back where I was in order to receive my upgrade.
I'd be really greatful if anyone could help.
Hello,
This might seem crazy (or at least contrary). I used the kies registry hack in november to upgrade my galaxy S to froyo from an orange branded 2.1 firmware.
I am looking to revert back to the orange 2.1 firmware, and I'm having no luck with a combination of registry hacking and odin flashing.
The long and the short of it is:
Does anyone have the Orange UK branded rom,
I think I am looking for something like PDA:I9000 BVJS4 PHONE: I9000 BVJP4 CSC: I9000 ORAJS4, or more specifically just the orajs4 csc so I can flash it.
I have found a similar one on samfirmware.com, but it is french and some apps are a little funny.
Can anyone help me?
carrier specific firmwares dont tend to exist unless they were copied from when the phoen was released, and are therefore hard to come by! Can I ask why you want to revert to 2.1?

I think the one you are searching for is:
I9000BVJP8/I9000ORAJP8/I9000BVJP3/I9000BVJP8
Using (unpatched/unspoofed KIES) this will offer:
PDA: JS4
PHONE: JP4
CSC: JS4
I hope this can help you. I'm not sure is it the right one or not since u have provided all information. I've just manipulated info to get the right order.
Checking Firmware:
http://fus.nanzen.se/
Input:
Choose Custom
Choose Android
Model : GT-I9000
Product code: GT-I9000HKDORA
HIDSWVER : I9000BVJS4/I9000ORAJS4/I9000BVJP4/I9000BVJS4
It will give a firmware released on 2011-03-03.
Downloading and flashing:
You can Download it via registery hack or Check fus Downloader then follow the guide in the first link.

samsung galaxy ace gt-s5839i...that phone is fresh from UK
Hi,
First post here. I'm still confused although I read a lot, here, on this forum...
Recently I bought Galaxy S III Mini GT-I8190N phone from a friend of mine, but IMEI factory locked to Orange Romania. First of all I deblocked IMEI. Then flashed with the official firmware I8190NXXAMG6_I8190NVFGAMF3_ATL - Vodafone Spain (because my SIM card is from Vodafone Romania, where I live).
1) How can I unlock CSC or change it from Orange (ORO) to Vodafone (VOD or CNX) in order to make possible Kies updates? Actual CSC is MF3 (ORO) - mean Orange - although I flashed my phone with the most recently Vodafone carrier official firmware.
About rooting I read HERE - in case I'm think to flash my phone with Maclaw's CyanogenMod 10.1 20130919. So, the second question is:
2) It's possible to unroot the phone to the official firmware, in case I want to revert to it's original state? And if it's possible then how?
I would be very thankful if you can describe me, step by step, these two problems!
Nobody has any opinion?
No one can't help me?

Where on this forum it's talking about CSC deblocking?! I haven't found anything conclusive.
Again, I have read a lot, but also is a lot of dispersed informations across the forum and I'm not so skilled. Besides that I don't know wich is the right way to do something that I want to do. This is the reason that I put those questions. For those who read this thread of mine and if they are good/skilled they can guide me with a answer or a link or something.
Thank you.

csc changer app will work if you are rooted.
sometimes a hard reset after flashing stock will change to the new product code if it is not changed.
regarding the unrooting guide, the flashing procedure is the same for all variants but sure you have to download the right stock firmware for your N variant from sammobile or what else...

First of all I wish to thank you for your reply.
I already tried with hard reset soon after I flashed the phone with official firmware of spanish carrier. But nothing.
Therefore, I supposed to root the phone with ClockworkMod, run CSC selector to change my CSC, unroot back with the same ClockworkMod, after that I reflash (once again) with the same firmware? I understand correctly?

Is your opinion and I'll respect that.
But why should I experience? Just because many others do so then and I must risk to brick the phone just because others do the same?! And yes, I do not want to risk (or if I do so at least I want to minimize all the risks). I'm a newbie in this kind of problems and I want to know, to understand and to put in balance as much as possible.
What is the purpose of the forum discussions if not to provide guidance and advice for others in order that they do not make same mistakes, that for example, I did?!

You won't be able to find DULK1. for your model Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830V. At least, I've not been able to find it. You can find DULK2 at Tsar3000: tsar3000.com/Joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=542:samsung,s5830-b-c-d-i-l-m-t-v-z-s5839i-galaxy-ace-firmwares&catid=55:samsung&Itemid=82 - scroll 'til you find V model. If you're with Vodaphone then I guess you get that one. I'm not so I use the other.
You can also go to sammobile: sammobile.com/firmwares/to get DULK2 (plus another version) - though that site you must sign up (for free) to download. Just do a search for your model in the search box.
You could also try updating your firmware through Samsung Kies, though I've always had some problem with that BUT what's really handy, is whether you can successfully update or not through Kies, it WILL tell you what your next/updated firmware specs are.
Edit: After researching, DULK2 IS definitely the correct update to do up from DULK1.... so you should be fine to use that.
