So upon reading many forums on this phone the softbank x03ht, i have found that many people have them in japanese and dont know how to change language.... me being 1 of them....i went to the softbank site and searched the phone and downloaded the user manual.. since most of us cant read the japanese direlect i decided every 1 needs a noob guide on this...
power on your htc X03HT
with your phone closed
click the top left button for windows
scroll to the folder with the gear and press center chrome button
when the menu comes up press "0" on the dial pad
then "2"
when the next menu pops up uou will see a box on the top with japanese characters in it just press the chrome button you should see japanese charcters again and under that should be U.S. English press the chrome button then press the top left button again a box will pop up and just press the top left 1 more time.
now all you have to do is take your battery out
then re install your battery and power on your phone..
when the main menu comes up it should be in english
goood luck guys and ill be around some more with other "easy" fixes

Anyone got this working on the Diamond. Working fine on my old SE W850 - dont know where to start with the Diamond
I'd like this too.
Can only think about doing it via web browser
I use the k800 version and remaP my left and right hardkeys to act as softkeys but the text is tiny!
How do you download the K800 version of Sky Remote?
Sky doesn't let you chose a particular phone during online setup.
Sky By Mobile Java App
Here's the Java app download.
http://mobile.sky.com/SBM/SonyE_novid/SkyMobile_SonyWithoutTv.jar
All I got to do now is try to remap hardkeys!
Got AE Button Plus, but a bit scared of all it can do.
Can Ericsson68 tell us how he remapped hard keys?
Is running TF3D, cos that seems to overwrite hard key functions when run?
Just got round to trying this.
How do i run the file as .jar files are not assosiated with any apprication?
Put .jar file on Diamond first using activesync.
Then run Jblend first and install and run java apps or .jar files from there.
I still can't get it to logon yet.

I know that people have had problems. You might find the answer there.
Hi
I used AE button and then remapped the left and right ring keys to long presses = left and right soft keys. I never do long presses on the left and right ring keys so this made sense to me.
Prepare to need a magnifying glass when you do get logged in though. And from experience put your password in before the user name. For some reason doing it the other way around often crashes it.
Ok! Got application working - am able to enter password and user name.
Have tried remaping keys, but dont understand how or why. Could you go through it step by step.
Have a copy of AE Button Plus installed.
Thanks
Another jar file
This one allows the soft keys to work but doesn't actually manage to login for me.
I attach the file for you to try.
Solution!
trice1921 and colthekid worked this solution out at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507152 for the Touch HD / Blackstone. It works for the Diamond as well. I'll copy the solution here and hope the mods don't mind.
The java file is here http://mobile.sky.com/SBM/SonyE_novid/SkyMobile_SonyWithoutTv.jar
The HasKeyboard reg key is important and you will need to disable the volume control in S2U2 if you use it. Enjoy!
Firstly, follow the instructions in the original article posted by gears ie. register on the web for sky mobile and download and install the java software and SkyMobile_SonyWithoutTv.jar file.
Also register for "Remote Record" via your Sky+ box (instructions on the Sky.com website)
Next, as the HD does not have a hardware keyboard, we need to "spoof" the OS into thinking the HD does have one. This is done in one key in the
registry (which I found completely by accident while looking for a different one!).
Goto... "HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Shell" and change the value of "HasKeyboard" to 1
Soft Reset the phone.
We will then need to map some of the buttons to give us up/down/left/right, Enter and Left/Right Soft keys. As NickMilner suggests above, i use "AE Button Plus" and my mapping instructions assume that's what you will use. (the program does cost but i don't know of any other one that provides double, triple and long press options for each key and appears to work well enough in free/trial mode anyway!)
Map the following in AE Button Plus
Volume Up button: Single press - Volume Up
Double press - Press Up Arrow
Triple press - Press Left Arrow
Long press - Press Left Soft Key
Volume Down Button: Single press - Volume Down
Double press - Press Down Arrow
Triple press - Press Right Arrow
Long press - Press Right Soft Key
Green Phone Button: Single Press - Press Green Button
Double Press - Press Enter
I would have liked to use the Red Phone button, but whatever selection i made, the red button always acted as an "Exit" button in the java app, so I went with the above. It's a bit complicated I know with all those double and triple presses, but IT WORKS and i've soon got used to it. I'm sure you could chose your own combination of presses, but the above ones work.
Well, there you go, see if it works for you (I Bl**dy hope so...this has taken me ages to write!!)

Just upgraded the ROM to 1.9.
prior to the upgrade, when I press the phone button, it shows me the telephone pad screen with shortcut button to choose "Contact" on the bottom-left. Now only can select video call.
Anything I can do to get the "Contact" short-cut again.
Please please help me!!!!!!!
thanks..............................
i'm sure that a reg edit somewhere will help, but tbh, why do you need to go into contacts?
using the on screen keypad in the phone screen, type the name of the person as if you were using t9.
For example, to find George, you would type 436743 and all the contacts with George in their name will be displayed. use the down arrow to highlight the one you want to call and then hit the call button.
RTFM and learn how to use your phone dude......:-(
Most of existing users "complain" about this changes and lots of discussion about this topic already. You may want to look at the following post for some solutions

Hullo all,
I have searched the whole theread and I couldnot find the answer so I am asking here from you geneus people.
I have MDA Compact IV and today I wanted to map my some of the keys to function or programmes. When I go to start-->Settings-->personal-->buttons tab.I found there is no button present to be mapped. Please tell me is this the problem with my phone only or diamond doesn't have any key available in the list to map.options I see-
1.select a button (no button is there). It should have listed "Button 1 (Hold)" but not
2. Assign a Programme (always set to blank)
How do I get back Button 1 (Hold) in the list back ?
Thank you so much in advance
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408711&highlight=hardware+buttons
that's the one i use. one button that can be mapped to 3,4,5....programs!
if you'll really search you'll find more options.
just try and search this forum and the "themes and applications" forum for "hardware buttons".
But Button 1 (Hold) is not listed ?

Hi i have a problem with my MDA IV Compact. I searched the forums but found no answer to my problem.
I want to do some basic button remapping and so i go to settings -> personal -> buttons and guess what. There are NO buttons listed in the buttons list.
Has anyone come across this before and if so can you help me solve it? I mean there are only few hardware buttons present in diamond its a shame not to be able to map them.
Button mapping...
The only button you can map by default is the long press of the 'dial' hardware key. This should be showing in your button list as 'Button 1(Hold)'. There is an application called GScroll available here, which lets you map the four hardware keys by touch (double tapping them). Not exactly what you're after, but it's all I can think of to help you out
thats thing. i get NO buttons on my list gscroll looks nice. too bad its not free ware. but its cheap so i may get it.
you can use dredsensor
this tool allow you to remap buttons depending on running programs
No, no, no!
Diamond CAN have its call key remapped via Windows.
I had the opposite; a glitch entry appeared in the buttons list.
I am attaching a reg-file which will bring back the call button mapping. But be careful, this comes from Windows with localization patch.
Or, you can hard reset. If MDA CIV ROM creators didn't remove it intentionally, it should be there.
How can I fix this? Originally it should be as the one shown in pic 1
but now it shows as the one on pic 2
Same here Xperia 1 iv
press and hold an empty space on your background. in the menu choose startscreen settings. disable the option to show the fast search field. I'm not sure if my translation is 100 % correct since I use Dutch language on my phone
