Is there a ONE CLICK 2G/3G toggle widget? I've tried Extended Power Control, but that toggle only opens up the Mobile Networks page, so it becomes a 2 click toggle.
I know HTC roms have this toggle so why not others? I've tried searching around but couldn't find any

Both only have shortcuts the the network settings page which makes it 2 clicks (3 clicks if you include the back/home screen button) Any 1 click widgets out there?

Read the description on those apps. The OS does not allow one-click toggle of 2G/3G, so they did the next best thing by taking you straight to the settings.

Well figured since HTC could do it on their own ROM, someone could figure something out
I have a HTC phone but can't see a widget to do this. Care to elaborate?
For Nexus such widget needs to be a part of the ROM - since it needs to be signed with ROM key for system access. There's a thread about it in Development section. And that's why HTC could make such widget (assuming that they did).
Hey guys!
I'm wondering on how to remove the TouchWiz lockscreen because I'm about to use Lockbot wich act buggy with TW Lockscreen, it shows the TW Lockscreen before switching over to Lockbot.
Is there an APK somewhere i can remove to get rid of TouchWiz lockscreen (the one with the puzzle sliding etc.) ?
Thanks in advance masters!
Im in a similar predicament, i actually am using a passcode right now so it doesnt look like touchwiz

Thank you for your reply, the problem is I cannot use Lockbot now because the TW Lockesreen messes it up. Also on Exlair (Android 2.1) it is not possible to set up a passcode, FroYo is needed for that plus this won't fix my Lockbot issue either. I alreafy did some diging in the APK folders but couldn't really sort it out. You are on FroYo I believe? It is possible to set a SIM pincode but that doesnt help aswell.
PEACE!
The free app NoLock will remove your lockscreen entirely, if you press power/home to wake your phone it will immediately be unlocked. There are several apps on the market to replace your lockscreen with a different style but in my experience these aren't completely satisfying - sometimes the original lockscreen appears for a splitsecond, other times they're just not as responsive and may take a second longer for you to unlock the phone.
Regardless, just try searching the market for 'lockscreen' and see what you find. WidgetLocker is pretty good but not free.
Indeed I am on Froyo, I wasn't aware it isn't available on eclair. Well, if anyone else finds further development besides market apps that seem to slightly lag please help out!

Oh and thanks for thinking with me
Download SGS INFO on the forum here install and run the app selecting set powerbutton action. Select the tickbox and this will permantly disable the lock screen until you select otherwise.
The beauty if this is that it doesnt use a 3rd party app to do this just provides a shortcut to hidden options within the SGS.
Hope this helps.

You can also easily revert back to the stock lock (...and two smoking barrels! ) screen by modifying the code in /system/framework/android.policy.odex.

i installed the app. but when i choose set powerbutton action, i have only this one on the list :
shutdown: enable to shutdown on end call long press.
thats not right or ?
which code must i enter to disable lockscreen.
and would it be the same code to reactivate the stock lock screen ?

when i tick off the shutdown option, then 3 things happen:
1. the question if i really want to shut down my phone is gone. (i think this is the real action, what it does)
2. when i restart my phone, the sim card is not accepted, its even not asked for pin. i tried 3 times, so its not working
3. the lockscreen is gone.
so i need an other option, maybe i will deinstall it completly.
or has someone an other suggestion ?

Hey Rambone!
Most of the times these apps don't work together with apps such as LockBot for getting another lockscreen. Will try it out tho, thanks for the heads up
Great job on your ROM's b.t.w. mate, really awesome! Keep up the good work!

Hello I'm kinda of a noob to this stuff (not kinda really lol) and I was wondering where can I locate this sgs download on the forum
Howdy, folks. Been thinking about buying Tasker, wondering if it can do what I need.
I have an HTC phone with 'Sense Home' which is a feature that creates 'smart folders' that will change the apps presented based on location, presumably triggered by IP address. However, I don't care for how it works - the folders are dynamic and apps will change, depending on how much you use any given one. That's not what I want - I prefer a static folder.
Is it possible to set up Tasker to activate different app folders on the home screen based on location? If so, can you point to a guide on how to do such a thing?
Thanks!
You may want to have a look at On Time. It has native Tasker integration.

Where do you see such an option in AutoTools?
It's a project where you set auto tools as your launcher.

That would interfere with HTC Sense, or any other preferred launcher (like Nova), would it not?

You're talking about the launcher shortcuts intruduced in Android 7 which pop up when you're long pressing the AutoTools icon, right?
I know about that possibility, but I think that's not what @BillTheCat is looking for. (Or am I wrong?)
@BillTheCat : Did you try out the app I linked in the second post?

Hello guys
Before my new XZ1compact running Oreo, i was able to create URL shortcuts using app like "website shortcut" and choose a nice picture as icon.
IT seems it no more possible to use such app with Oreo ( noted on website shortcut app website) :
"NOTE: due to a change within Android functionality, Android Oreo (8) does not seem to support the shortcut creation service that this app relies on. A solution is in the works, but will require some time."
Can you please tell me a way to do it or do i have to wait for devellopers to update their application ?
Thanks in advance.
In Chrome navigate to the url you want to add a shortcut to, then in the menu choose "add to homescreen".
That should do what you're asking.
Hello Ohbkid
You're right, this method works to just add a shortcut but you cannot choose shorcut icon; it also works with Edge for android.
this is Something i want to do and i could do using "website shorcut" app in the past.

Sorry, does not seem to work on Oreo and Samsung S7. The possibility to make a shortcut on the homescreen is still there in the Chrome browser, but nothing appears on the homescreen. Is this again some security issue in Oreo 8.
url shortcut create on oreo
so, is there a working way to create a url shortcut on homescreen with oreo or not?
thanks
Tom
Absolutely not and impossible. Discovered that it might also have to do something with the launcher you're using. Really, aside from other issues this Oreo is giving me I deeply regret ever having updated to Oreo. What about this adaptive icons problems ??

I had responded to a thread in the note 8 section but thought I'd pass the info on to the note 9 forums.
So:
you just need to launch the proper screen recorder activity. i use the nova launcher for its activities options:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
so just create a widget on your homescreen as you normally would then when choosing the widget choose 'activities', then scroll to 'record screen' and choose the correct one.( there are 3 activities for screen recorder so choose 1st one)
if you want the quick tile then just use the tiles apk from the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles
use that app to create a new activity tile. choose record screen as the main activity and choose the 1st of 7 available sub activities.
hit the 3 dots next to the activity you want and save.
go back and then Rename this activity because you can.
Now go to your quick tiles/button order and add activity1(once you add it to your active tiles the custom name you gave will appear)
com.sec.app.screenrecorder.activity.LauncherActivity
is the actual activity if anyone was wondering.
edit :
so i just realised that the thread i responded to originaly was infact in the note 9 forums and not note 8 as originally though.
although my method seems to be more pertinent to the guides and discussion section(rather posting it under the apps section like original thread), if it is deemed as duplication, then please remove.
but basicaly anything can be launched via widgets or quick tiles using activities and following the steps described. so i hope this broadens my initial goal of simply showing how to add the screen recorder.
