Ice cream sandwitch is out and the sdk is now available. Pls someone take the project to port it in mini. It would really be great.
Not to be condescending or anything but it's better if we wait until there's at least ONE ROM based on ICS before asking if it can be ported to our Minis.
Besides I think it would be best if we waited for CM9 and then try to port it to the mini!!

Yeah try to port icecream in mini.
Guys there are no source code for the Ice Cream Sandwitch.... And that's gonna take a huge amount of time for the source code to be released...Maybe not... But the source code for Honeycomb isn't released yet... So.... The SDK is for apps... No the system to port to mini. And the mini will probably get the ICS. Since it got official gingerbread.

I tried, but it showed error (status 7) when I tried to flash it using CWM.
Until some development starts to show here, this thread is being moved to General forum.
feel free to contact me and I will move it back to development when needed.

Just doubt if it will work ok. Used to be a bit into winmobile dev. And there was always trouble with porting 6.5 to 6 devices. Just because of processor speed and RAM.
Defenitely wanna try it, but I don't really expect great things about it!
It would work. For example, 1.6 phones can run 2.3.7 even faster than the older 1.6.
Allright.
Not that I really care. Planning to buy an S2... The mini simply is to slow for me...

hey there
i'm interested to test if there is any ICS
that would be with no touchwiz ?
pm me if you want me to test it..will glad to assist you..
Guys, even Codeworks can't finish CM9 on i9100g because the only leak we had is chinese with a chinese locked bootloader. Therefore, absolutely no ICS custom rom can run on a non chinese i9100g until europe release of ics for i9100g ...
Only a chinese g can test this rom, but the version lb2 you posted is GB if i remember ...
Please
Let me test your rom please.....
Indeed, by the time you ported successfully, the actual ics already in place. Which I think definitely more stable than a ported one. I bet within this few weeks should be ready, so don't mind waiting for a little longer. This request should have done earlier once it released for non g.
Anyway, appreciated your hard work for this device. Your intention is good. But a little late when the real ics is near to release.

I also want to get CM9 to our device.. I really want to help here, but I don't have a lo of knowledge of rom development.
But I developed some Android apps and I know how to programm java..
So can anybody tell me what I would have to do If I want to get CM9 to our Incredible S?
Can I compile CM9 from source? Or isn't that possible because we don't have an official cm9 yet?
Please help me out a little bit..
Or do you have any tutorials that would help me getting started?

dang !
why the hell do they wait for kernel source, old devices that have no ics source whatsoever have official cm9 nightlies (example GT-P1000)
Presumably they don't need it, either their drivers are open source or are the same as another device which does have source. HTC deliberately remove and obfusticate, so each source is specific to one device

I read that someone lauched the stock Galaxy s3 and i tried bunches of roms and now i'm porting the 'vaule pack' 'cause the other roms didn't make my galaxy work 100% and i prefer the stock, but there are many Apps that only work on ICS and i'd love to have them again but not in a ics rom so that's why my question if i can port it, so i read that the files weights about 800 MB it's much but i can pay the price to wait downloading ja ja

Hello Team,
Can any one please tell me if there would be a Jelly bean port for Galaxy S Plus (GT-I9001) Mobile ?
I found one Port try from Mr. vpupkin, but the last update from him was , as the jelly bean source was full of bugs he will wait till proper bug free source is avaiable. But this update he posted on Mid of June 12, I think after that no one tried to port the JB itseems .
Any Update please ?

@Latrop: That would be great if you can. I heard since Jelly bean got almost he same internal structure like ICS, and we have a 98% WOrking CM9 available I hope it wont be too tough to do that. Still I cant comment more on it as I am not a developer (But I could say I am good tester) and only a dev can comment the actual difficulty about this port. All the best and I am waiting .
Cheers,
Kirankumar.

this is the great people you should be talking to about JB port to our device :highfive:
Hello ,
Just wanted to give you a suggestion. You might have heard of the broodROM (Maintained by broodPlank) , that the only ROM which I found as non Laggy, rest all custom ROMs, some and other reason faces a lot of lagging issues. So if we can get the technique used by Mr.Brood, we could get a lagless CM10 Port. I know that Jelly bean has something called project butter which promises to keep the lag away, but if that does the solution while porting then fine, else we can get some tips from Broodplank.
Cheers,
Kirankumar.[/QUOTE]

But, i have a dilema: why did no one tried to develop or port a good old cm 7 rom?
The stock rom is awfaul. It lacks, freezes, reboots... The cm 9-10.1 roms are great, but, let.s face it: untill sammy releasy official jb there is nothing to do
So, why not a cm 7 rom?
I had a galaxy ace once and switching from stock to cm 7 was revelatory...
Please consider my request

i think we can achieve the best performance that can fit into this device
it would be cool to see cm7, i think all drivers must work on it
cool idea i think that will be the right choice until offical jelly bean come
Glad to see others thinks the same
I think for a dev, porting an cm7 rom is a matter of hours.

I really don't think like you. Even S2 in early days had cm7. Now lot of peoples port CM9/10/10.1 and a little bit ports cm7.
Sent from my GT-S6500D using Tapatalk 2
Well, seeing as we'll not get JB, and for that matter a fully working CM10(.1), CM7 seems like a very good idea. With a new stable kernel, without TouchWiz 3.0, and any bloatware, it'll be blazing fast. Plus, the DSP Manager combined with the already awesome stock music experience it'll be more awesome for me. I know it's on the CM 10(.1) but I want a camera damn it! (even though I know it sucks, but it's important kinda for me).
As i said in first post, i really applaud the devs' work on cm 9-10.1, but they (you) have to think that the average noob user (like me) needs a fully working custom rom, even it.s not the latest android update.
So, devs will have our support in developing new roms, in the same giving us a humble cm7 rom for our daily use
I guess that if galaxy ace was running so smoothly with cm7, mini 2 will be lighting faster
And, of course, being arm7 is not an impediment for cm7
