[Q] Root for XFJV7? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help me.
Root for XFJV7?
Thanks

Hello
You can root by:
1)flash with Odin a custom kernel for 2.3.4 (CF for JVQ is a good one) which roots the system
2)flash with Odin the stock JV7 kernel - there is one attached at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881&page=26
As a result you will have a stock rooted system

[Q] How can I root my I9000XXJVQ ?

HI, I put I9000XXJVQ 2.3.4 on my SGS by ODIN, it's not rooted, but I don't witch .RAR I can use to root it with ODIN to use TITANIUM backup, anybody can help me?
Or what is the best way : put a new firmware ? which one?
The best way to root, I think it is a flash Custom Kernel via Odin or CF-Root
Thanks, I tried to Root by ODIN but it's always unsuccessfull. Which Kernel do you recommend ? It's seems there are some problem with JVR kernel...
lol, if you going to root it from Custom kernel, you need to download SuperUser.apk and BusyBox . It gives you only permissions .
When I was on JVQ I using a continuum
What is a continuum ? Can I use CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVR-v4.1-CWM3RFS.zip to root with ODIN after loading Superuser and busybox ?
Yes, you can use it
I always flashed a custom .tar kernel's like SpeedMod or Galaxian.
Then I install from Market a SuperUser and BusyBox and it was all what i doing

New Roms

sorry for the newb questions, but i am finding way to much cross references for rooting and unlocking a bell vibrant could someone help me out I would like to put on a new rom pls.
1. Go to this thread and download JVT. Flash JVT with Odin and make sure re-partition is checked.
2. Go to this thread and download the CF-Root kernel for JVT. Flash the kernel with Odin
3. You should now have stock 2.3.5 with root and CWM installed. Reboot into recovery and use CWM to flash whatever custom ROM you want.
thanks very much just finished and it worked out very well.
2.3.5 and 2.3.6 why not jvu semaphore kernel 2.5.0 and @ oserx o.7.1 rum is the best and fastest rom I had

use cfroot for the JVO.. in case it doesnt exist..
try the JVT or JVR stock firmwares and thrn root your device using cfroot..!
you will have CWM recovery after you flash the cfroot in either case i mentioned above!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Download the Hardcore-Speedmod.tar file and flash it through Odin.

[Q] Installing CWM

Hi.. I recently rooted my N7000 using the instructions on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
How do I install CWM now? I don't have any CWM even though the phone is rooted.
TIA
Which method did you use ? Root only or Root & CWM ?
You can just flash the cwm.zip in stock recovery, Or you can flash a safe kernel with root and CWM already installed, Like speedmod using Odin.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/69014495/CWM.zip - CWM.zip
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/69014495/speedmod-kernel-n7000-ics-k3-3-Odin.tar - Speedmod Kernel (ICS)
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/69014495/GingerBread-speedmod-kernel-n7000-k2-12-Odin.tar - Speedmod Kernel (GB)
