G'day lovely folks.
I've just got myself a Samsung Galaxy Tab (GT-P1000) 16GB.
Now I'm completely new to Android - and have no clue about flashing/rooting etc.
I just simply have one concern and was wondering if someone can guide me in how to resolve it.
When I put it on the first time - everything was in spanish - however, I managed to navigate through the setup successfully and managed to head to Settings -> Locale & Text and change the default language to English.
Now I need to gift this to my dad - just thought I'd have a quick play with it before. Nevertheless, I thought I'd do a standard Factory reset - but that makes it go back to Spanish.
Is there anything I can do simply (as in update the ROM?) so that when I do a factory reset, English is the primary language in the Tab?
Sorry if I'm sounding so naiive - but would really appreciate it if someone can help me get this sorted.
I'm not bothered about rooting or anything else right now - just wanna make sure I have a decent ENGLISH firmware version
Currently here are the details of my Tab:
Model: GT-P1000N
Firmware Version: 2.2.1
Baseband Version: P1000NUBJM2
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build Number: FROYO.UBJM7
Phew!
So... what next?
Thanks guys -much appreciated

hi guys this is my first post and I need some help,
i bought a milestone second hand the other day from a CEX in my city. My question is that it has some Chinese firmware on it and I want it back to the factory stock firmware the device would of came with.
Can someone explain how I would go about this?
Device Info:
Firmware Version: Itfunz2.1_Eclipse_Terminator_II
Firmware Config Version: GAS_EMEA_USASHLS00WNDIT_P030
Baseband Version: 3GSMEPU91A_U_91.07.4EI
Baseband Config Version: USASHLSMR2WNDITB1B805D.0R
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-omap1a21146 (at) ca25rhe74#1
Build Number: Chinese_By _Martincz_Itfunz com
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers
A factory reset would only reset you to the original state of that firmware - I'm pretty sure you will have to flash a new firmware - you can check threads here on how to do that. Its quite easy...
just flashed it to your favourite rom..
cyanogenmod is recommended..
you can flash official moto from here
http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone
or a custom one from xda

There is a thread about putting your phone back to stock...probably what you need.
Quick rundown for a return to official Mot rom:
1.Usb drivers for you os
2.Rsd lite (software from mot...google it)
3.Correct sbf for your country
An sbf is a file from motorola that includes an image of your entire phone (bootloader, firmware, baseband, etc).
Hope this helps

Do some reading and some searching
You can flash Overcome (which includes Italian)

That also includes a step-by-step guide to see you through the installation

Hi guys, need your expert advise to understand something that's new to me....
Well been in this forum for quite some time ..(Back from HTC Diamond days...then HTC Desire, HTC Sensation etc..)
Flash numerous ROMs in all of those HTC devices.
Now, I've bought a second hand GS3 i9305 Titanium Grey for quite a good deal ! After buying I figured it doesn't have 'Software Update' inside 'About' Menu. So, by digging what I believe is, this devices has been rooted and 'may be' a different un-official rom had been flashed. Even the 'Samsung Kies' software tells that this firmware is not supported to auto update and..bla bla...
So, I had to find a way to go stock everything (ROM, MODEM, BOOTLOADER etc.) and start Fresh about rooting and stuff. But unlike HTC devices it's kinda ambiguous to me! So far I figured I want to:
1. Backup my IMEI (I've understood how to do so)
2. Find the exact official firmware.
After countless searching and reading (may be I'm dumb! ) I've reached this page:
HTML:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
... but completely lost as to which firmware version I should download. For Convenience please find below my device's information:
Model Number: GT-I9305
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: I9305BVALI5
Kernel Version: 3.0.31 - 142435
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT sun Sep 9 02:08:20 KST 2012
Build Number: JRO033C.I9305XXALI5
If you guys help me to find out the correct stock firmware and also give me link(s) to definitive guide(s) would help me a lot! (I've read some Odin flash guides though, from I9300 thread. I believe the same guide is also applicable for I9305?)
Thanks for your time reading this, and advanced thanks for your Answers!

Here's a link to some firmware and in it is a link to find out what you're after. Although I don't think it particularly matters which region and stuff cause it's all official samsung stuff: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9305
As for flashing there's a million guides out there so I suggest you google it or go through here and find a thread about flashing back to stock for the i9305.
:good:
.. Thanks I Guess! ..
Dear All,
I am the newbie and would really appreciate if I got some assistance. My story starts recently when I received an LG P990h that initially was working fine. Along the way,I downloaded LGsuiteIV desktop suite and upgraded the android version to 2.3.4 however since then its rather erratic in behavior as in the keyboard can go wild and start typing self or once you probably searching for something like a contact or any folder, the phone just goes ballistic and starts flashing windows, camera, pictures, etc and also the eventual hunging..
My phone details show this now;
Model number
LG-P990h
Android version
2.3.4
Baseband version
1035.21_20120327
Kernel version
2.6.32.9
Build number
GRJ23
LGE version
LGP990h-V20b
Any kind advice for this me,would be much appreciated.
Hi all,
as mentioned above, I'm a noob when it's about my mobile phone, therefore I hope you are wiling to help/guide me with this.
The phone I have is ex T-Mobile Germany and I'm using it now as a prepaid Dutch mobile phone.
I know I cannot update it by KIES and the phone has no 'Update' button, or in any other way is updating possible.
I was advised to search here for the custom ROM for Galaxy S.
I've used the search button often, but did read so much and got more and more confused. Especially about what I was reading for similar S-types but without the GT.
Here some info of my phone:
- A short while ago a did a factory reset.
- Firmware Gingerbread 2.3.6
- Baseband-version: I9000XXJW4
- Kernelversion: 2.6.35.7-I9000BOJW6-CL1177078
- Buildnumber: GINGERBREAD.BOJW6
I'm using a Linux Desktop and have a Windows Laptop available for updating (if advised).
Thanks to all who did read my request.
