OMG the multitouch is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD , I just cant play games on it .
I installed NOVA , excited to play an FPS on android, and what happened , sucky axis inversion (assuming axis inversion is the thing when i touch , let us say , moving clockwise , corner 1 and 3 of the phone and what the phone detects is 2 and 4 , thats what happens to me )
Has anybody found a solution to this problem , the inversion always starts as soon as the horizontal coordinates coincide..
Thanks anyways for hearing me out

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note (N7000) phone about one week ago. I noticed a problem with the screen. The problem is like this:
When I am in a very dark room (and make sure my eyes have adapted to the darkness), and display a completely black image with the phone, the screen is not completely black. This is NOT the problem I want to say. The problem which bothers me is that, inside this gray screen I can notice some really black spots, just like the screen has been spattered by some black ink (but is has not).
Why is this a problem? Because even if the screen cannot be perfectly black when displaying a completely black image, it should still be uniform; but this is not the case!
This problem is similar to the one described in this web page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150171
Maybe I should add that this problem never affect its performance in normal conditions. It only shows up when the environment is completely dark and when it display something really black.
So I would like to know whether this problem is caused by a defect of the phone.
A photo is attached. It was taken with a long exposure time. The photo is taken with a small Canon camera, with ISO = 200, and an exposure time of 15 seconds.
This thread has some discussion regarding the issue. I have these marks on my SGS2 screen as well; bit of a nuisance really.

Mine is pitch black as far as i can tell. However, when i run screenfilter, it dims the colors but the background (normally black) becomes a light grey.

All OLEDs can have this issue. I would imagine more have it than not. My old Zune HD did this. My note has it, my Infuse has it. If you are into watching black screens with nothing on them in pitch black rooms, then stay away from OLED screens. Since you really can't see this with normal use, I would say it is no big deal.
Your video issue is something else all together. That is just a boneheaded gamma setting by Samsung. Shades below 4 (with my gamma test image) aren't smoothly ramped down, they are just eliminated entirely! This gives a noticeable step from shadow details to black, which shows compression tiling that you normally wouldn't see..
I believe physical damage causes this problem..because last week when my girlfriend tossed Me my deo can it accidentally hit the screen and since then there's a huge black spot in that area thankfully though it's only visible on a pitch black image ....like the bootscreen
so no issues
This belong in Q&A
My very first Note had blotches visible even in daylight on a gray background. I had it replaced the next day under Samsung early life failure policy (first 30 days). Second phone had blotches visible only on a black background in a dark room. So did 3rd, 4th and 5th! However, the 5th Note had blotches around the edges unlike the other 4 Notes so I decided to keep it. The fact is: ALL Notes 1 have blotches. If you can't see blotches consider yourself blessed. Blotches are the only thing I hate about Note 1.

even though a lot of screens have this, Id send it back if I was you. I think its unacceptable for aproduct this expensive. It shoukd be flawless. So quickly call upon warrantee.
Next time, dont leave the store without doing an instore test, that way you can return it immediately with no questions asked

It's a bit hard to do a "dark room" test in store. After the 5th I gave up my search for a perfect screen. Until Samsung changes their AMOLED manufacturing process and improve QC there won't be "perfect" screens.

The problem is these dark spots won't appear even on the standard *#0*# screen test .
so it's kind of a non issue but what I am worried about it is, will it deteriorate in time and become an issue later on ?

Y to quote the whole OP, it bloates the screen, plz modify it.
Mini has poor multi touch support, so this app will b avg on our phones :/
I have been trying out JB roms lately and really them but I have a problem with my camera apps, mainly Camera FV-5 & Camera Pro.
The problem is that they load fine but when looking at the screen the preview of what I am going to take the photo of is only about 2/3 size of the screen and then there is a black border for the rest of the screen, I rely on my camera so I have to be able to see the whole screen.
The roms I have tried are BlackCNA v2.1 & PARANOIDANDROID 2.17 [Utacka]
Any help would be appreciated.
Oh is it possible to have the Galaxy note 2 gallery in these roms?

It looks like the previous are borrowed from the stock camera which leaves room for the settings and shutter.
Do you see your pictures correctly in gallery?

Haha, my bad, still the display is better than all previous models.
for me, my sharp panel is very bad, reddish, much worse than the m9. wating for new calibration profiles or a kernel with support for color balance mod
I have a tianma panel and it is very good. Colors are a bit oversaturated though, even in sRGB mode. I might try a cooler setting though. Currently I have it one notch towards cool.
Overall I am loving the display.

do Tianma displays still have pink shifting?
For enthusiasts there is a color control available: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67779784&postcount=309
I have a Sharp panel and is awful. No matter what setting(sRGB/Vivid) the screen has a red accent.

yes, just got the HTC 10 yesterday, when compare to my Neux s5 and LG G3 the HTC 10 is sub par.
I see a visible red/tint noticeable on whiter backgrounds. I contacted customer care they said the issue was known and they are still investigating and they could not do anything and I have to live with the device

Mines fine
Slightly pink but nothing compared to the horrihle tints on AMOLED
Did any one got a new HTC 10 recently and see a pink/red hue?
Yeah I've got a new one. Mine does have a slight pink hue. But doesn't bother me. And too be honest next to my 6p AMOLED screen it looks way better.

It's image retention, which is a problem with some LCDs. I only get it quite mildly, but I've seen worse examples. You can't stop it from happening, but it should go away after a little while.
It seems LG displays like the one on our Nokia are fairly susceptible to this - it happens on the LG V20, and some Motorola phones with LG displays.
