MIUI is now open-sourced...

So.. Yeah! MIUI is now open-source. The TeamCooper already has an Alpha released on their FB page. All the news about MIUI opensource : http://androidcommunity.com/chinese-oem-xiaomi-publishes-miui-open-source-code-20120203/ .

Now only if some dev starts working on a port for mini
I like MIUI's simplicity. If we get a port I won't be upgrading my phone anytime soon lol!

Wow... How supportive you guys are.... Still this is fun no matter what you say.... I still research myself. And so you know probably in two days i'm gonna release a guide how to run debian + lxde on our mini without losing android . And btw - most of the guys release just news too.... But you don't say anything to them... Either way what you said got on my mind and i will keep that. But it won't change something major in me

So will be avaible a MIUI rom for our device ?

3.when squadzone finishes cm9 he will probebly make miui v4 (my opinion cause his awesome xD)

They just tell u how to port it and it's not the complete source code.
They threw in the source for a few apps...that's all.

Because MIUI is based on CM, we just take CM9, integrate MIUI source (apps, framework) in CM9 source and compile.

Correct.
Miui guys just took CM and modified it and kept it as closed source for quite a time.
But I think first we needa have stable CM9.

I have kernel source so just going on to port some exiting Roms to Dart with Better UI than the normal CM 7.2 -.- (more performance, etc)
I already have some conversations with some MODs to make an extra DEV section for SGD Coz i want to overtake it ;-)

no other hardware i think for all other firmwares i need to compile complete new DarkBlacK Kernel :/ coz i must upgrade kernel to 2.6.36.15 to get it working -.-

No! But custom ROMs are always there for you. Maclaw's CM9 is based on original ICS.

It can be. But Samsung won't provide it. Maclaw had made a CM9(ICS) build which works perfectly 95% but flashing it will void your warranty!

Go to the Dev section, look for [ICS] tags in the threads.
Currently the camera does not work on any ics builds, this may be fixed in the future. If you do decide to flash make sure you read the instructions on how to flash in the rom thread.
Samsung will never provide an official ics.

Where have you been bro? Lagloose and some members (i think) of galaxyICS team already made a patch for cam. although it has no preview. And OP, official ICS, NO Unofficial ICS, WIP already, almost perfect

it can b upgraded via cm9 as said b4 ....but since u ahve bought your phone recently u may want to check the model no ... the roms here are mainly for GT S5830 not its variants like GT S5830i ....if your phone is GT S5830i then the roms wont work for you

[Q] Kernel 3.0.xx for Ace

I've been watching out the work of psyke83 by porting kernel 3.0.31 to msm7x27 devices in madteam forum and him next release of CM10.1 for Galaxy 5 (no ETAs) will already be using this new kernel, how you
can see in changelog maded by himself (http://madteam.co/forum/development-8/(dev)-cyanogenmod-10-1-galaxy5-port-(androidarmv6)/).
Considering the good things he comented in changelog by bringing kernel 3.0.31 to Galaxy 5, i'm wondering if developers here are already knowing that and if the same will occur to our Ace.

Would be awesome if devs would implement latest 3.x kernel

Yea, this one was a fake, but i was talking about the real development that is being made by psyke and the others. I really expect to see our legacy devices (Ace, G5, Mini, Gio, etc) running this kernel with android 4.2.1

Could anybody please post the link to his kernel 3.xx sources here as I am not a member of the madteam forum and can't view links there for that reason?

Mini plus has no ics or :/ based Rom, because it isn't a developer friendly phone.

well u can try custom roms, I already have Xperia arc s, and Gt-s5570i. I installed a 4.1.1 Rom on galaxy, it work perfectly without any bug
