Hello,
I have problem with my installation for FDExperience. I have a SE W8 and I am currently running it on GingerDX. I wish to try FDExperience but when I try to flash it using xRecovery it says
Install from sdcard...
Finiding update package..
Opening update package..
E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip (bad)
Installation aborted.
Please I need some help with it..
You may try to download file again coz it might be damaged, when you enter xrecovery you should choose install from zip (not update zip) and go to folder where youv been saved it

Hi guys,
Ive used the cyanogen rom for a couple of weeks and it works quite oke. Nevertheless I want to go back to the stock rom (EPE76).
I want to install it with fastboot > recovery > install zip from SD
When I click on 'OKE' I got the following error message:
"Can't open /sdcard/update.zip (bad file)"
How can I solve this error?
Regards

Are u using Modaco's stock update zip or the stock passion image zip...
if ur using the passion image zip, rename it to PASSIMG.zip, pop it onto ur SD card, reboot into recovery and it'll ask u if u want to install it...
if ur using Modaco's stock update zip, check the md5 or re-download it and flash via Amon_RAs recovery...

Try factory resetting and than the exe recovery and root from within recovery. It took me 2 times to get it working error free.

Cyanogenmod's GAPPS package is at the bottom of the following page:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Gapps#Google_Apps
Simply flash through ClockworkMod Recovery. You will then have Market, GMail, etc.
And another which i'd like to know is about the camera, there's loodz of black dots when camera is opened

You shouldn't put the update.zip file in OR folder. As the error message showed you should put it in your sdcard root directory and keep it as update.zip.
Good luck to you!
Thanks mate ! fixed that extremely happy bout it !

You can't flash custom ROM using stock recovery.
Follow my signature to get overcome. And use its method to restock.
You better restock first.
After flashing overcome kernel (no need overcome ROM), you have cwm recovery.

Thank You
but in this topic you talking about Gingerbread but I need Jelly Bean
so what ??
But custom ROM needs cwm recovery,
So after you have cwm, you can flash anything.

I installed omar rom with breeze, but now every rom I threw to cwm fails to install with error "Installation aborted". I'm not sure if it's related to omar rom since I did not install any other roms before. This is part of log from clockworkmod/recovery.log:

I tried dozen of roms from sbf.droid-developers.org/smi/list.php , there is no way of corrupt download. My method of installing is following:
Download rom from sbf.droid-developers.org/smi/list.php
Put it to somewhere in phone (in this example case I put it in /clockwormod/backup/)
Boot to cwm recovery
choose "install zip from sdcard"
choose "choose zip from sdcard"
and of course browsing to correct folder and choosing correct rom file
These files are zipped files witch have to be unzipped and flashed via RSD-Lite
via RazR I & Tapatalk 4
Yes that was it, thanks. Is there a way to do it in linux though? sbf_flash requires .sbf file which is not available in razr i zipped roms.

do we have to unzipped the stock rom files before flashing, can we flash the zip files. I'm worried about this, i flashed the *.sbf file for my previous phones, never flashed the *.zip
