Hi ppl !
Prabobly i have solved problem with unlock lag. Fix is simple and you dont have flash anything. Just setup nexus wallpaper for me it worked like a charm.
Sent By Reverse Osmosis
It's not a solution.
Setting up a live wallpaper will make your processor run quicker (so it will drain your battery much quicker), the same way the screen unlocks instantly when music is playing.
so there is no solution fot this "problem" yet???
No, there is no solutions as this cannot be thought as a problem. When the screen shuts down, it takes a few seconds for the phone to fall in a deep sleep. This is a built-in feature which helps to save battery when screen is off.
Friends of me just bought this phone and also had this lag problem. So i rooted their galaxys and changed the governor with set cpu from ondemand to performance. Unlock lag reduced from 4 seconds to 1 second, and also after unlock the phone is instantly fast. I know performance governor leads to more power consumption, but we think a phone with 1,4gHz shouldn't be that slow.
I changed lock screen to golocker and lag is now significantly lower. I also use golauncher so it may have affection to golockers' performance. No issues for double locking or battery drain.
Cheers
The solution is simple, turn off your power save mode
doesn't help here....
And again, it's been established already that turning power save off doesn't help.
Placebo effect at most.

I have a same problem, still no solution ?
While the Galaxy S, there was no problem.

Since i use go-locker, in have noticably less lags.
Tapatalked from my Samsung Galaxy S Plus
Strangely enough, Golocker does speed it up a little, it went from 3 to 2 seconds.
But it still lags.
It lower your processer when your phone is idle make it less battery consuming. Unless you root your phone and use app to stop the deep sleep mode and keep phone speed always at 1.4. Otherwise nothing can do I think. Cause the phone need boot up the speed everytime you unlock making it [email protected]@At least you know it help you save.battery

I changed the lowest clocks from 123mhz to 246mhz. Seems more responsive. Used CPU Master (free).

The standard-setting for the minimum clock is at 244mhz. So this probably wont help anyone.
Also my lag is gone by using Go Launcher and Go Lockscreen!!!
Great (Best i think) Launcher anyway

Is the same for me, with go launcher and locker, the lag is gone
No difference ... ='(
Not going against the waking from deep sleep theory, i also always thought this was how it worked.
What puzzles me, however, is how the iphone doesn't seem to suffer from this for some reason and still performs as fast with perfectly acceptable battery time.
But i got it better by changing my lockscreen, that actually helps. Phone needs to load up the lockscreen when you wake it up so a simpler lockscreen will also help with better results by loading faster. You'll notice the screen starts responding faster. I found the most common one, the sliding tab the fastest while the ring one, to be a bit slower. I also found the go lockscreen to be faster than the "ring" one but not as fast as the basic sliding tab.
Btw im using a I9000 with CM7 stable but the "problem" still applies.
Turning off the power save option did help for me.

It always restarts automatically, when i make a call, the call just freezes and when i turn the phone on from standby to see what happen, well you guessed it, it restarts! its pretty annoying i went through 2 batteries today in 8 hours, because of the restarts. please help!
If your using the stock kernel I think its overclocked to 768 not sure though. Try one of dec's 691 kernel the #589 is my recommendation. Hope it helps good luck.

There could be a lot of things happening. The most common is that your running a clock speed higher than that which your phone can handle. Not all heros are created equal, mine for instance starts rebooting at anything higher than 691. Try a different kernel or if using setcpu or over clocking widget to lower your upper end clock speed. Your phone freezing when coming out of standby can mean your lower clock speed is too low. ASOPGB has JIT enabled by default as well. Go into the settings and turn it off, then reboot. You will just have to play until you find out what works for you. Good luck!

Set cpu or similar will not fix the issue, laie was right a capped 691 kernel is needed and probably a capped recovery as well. Btw jit is no longer default in gb, and jit would not cause reboots anyway.

Ahh thanks for the info, I had not gotten through all the new posts on the other ASOP GB threads. Good to know though. I have no tried out the rom, I plan to this weekend and my phone does NOT like kernels that clock above 691.
Hello,
Is there a possibility to disable the delay that I have from the moment I press the unlock button to the moment the screen turns on?
At the moment I have 2.5 seconds delay from the moment I push the button until the screen turns on.
Am I the only encoutering this delay? didn't see a similar post anywhere on the web

My phone has the same behaviour and the "problem" (if you want to call it a problem) is also described in some german forums - so no, it seems that this is absolutely ordinary.
I had the chance to compare it with a I9000 and the I9000 will outperformance the I9001 at this point, but nonetheless for me it is not really disturbing or so.
any updates on this one? Can someone please help? It's driving me crazy
Hy
I've read about the same problem on a hungarian forum, but I don't have it, mine turns on in less then a secound.
I think if this is such a common problem, Samsung will fix it. Maybe write them a mail.
When the screen has been turned off for a long time, the first unlock takes a lot longer than the following unlocks. For me, I think the 'cold' unlock is 2.5 seconds while a 'warm' unlock is just 1 second.
But yeah, this clearly is a standard problem. Let's hope Samsung brings out a firmware update soon to fix issues like these.
Mine has same "problem". It seems that the phone is in somekind of sleep.
i believe that problem is fixed in 2.3.4. Try flashing that and i hope you won't have that problem...i mean this is how it works:
1. I9000 uses SGX540 which uses less ram for its vram so you have around 250mb+ free ram
2. I9001 uses Adreno 205 which uses a lot of ram for its vram so that you have about 120mb left only
3. Try using no frills CPU app using root and set the minimum frequency to 245 mhz or maybe higher...and you won't get any delays..
Unfortunately it is not fixed with 2.3.4 as I still have the issue.
I will try your suggestion with the CPU frequency

The standard value for the minimum frequency is 245mhz! But it would be stupid to set it higher, because this will of course drain more battery.
I set my minimum frequency to 122mhz (scaling: on demand) and I noticed no differences regarding the delays (like I said before, I do not have a problem with a delay of 2,5sec) - but I have a better battery lifetime without charging.
I will give both ways a try, but to be honest the 2 + sec delay is anoing for me.
Edit:
Even with 1.4Ghz as frequency there is a delay, not that long but still about 1,5 sec.

yup it will...then you should wait for a better custom rom with all those JIT and ram compress tweaks enabled and then you can enjoy the speed.
To be honest if you guys want your problems to be fixed, do support the devs as much as possible in this thread

Yeah but in my opinion setting up the minimum frequency is not an option, because it is a more battery draining setting.

mate, you can never have performance with battery conversations...it's inversely proportional.
1. Set maximum value to 1 ghz with minimum of above 245
2. Do a hard reset from going into settings -> privacy -> factory reset because i just did it recently and my phone's running much faster.
Just had a chat with a guy from samsung support and he said that there is nothing they can do.
There must be a tweak or something to decrease this delay

I did, one day it shut down on me twice. It turned out like you turn it off, but then I couldn't turn it back on, just after battery reset. Never happaned again since then.
You mean factory data reset by hard reset?

Interesting....what version of android do you have (also kernel)
Mine reacts slower if I leave it longer. (samsung explanation "It is because the phone is entering in some kind of sleep state"). When I said that Galaxy s2 reacts instantly the answer was that Galaxy S2 has a better microprocesor and has a different platform.. hmmm

Hello. So I already made one thread but didn't get much of replies. If you own LG P920 or not you can still help. I have some questions and problems with phone If you could answer any of these please do it.
Questions: What is the best ROM for O3D. I never used any different roms than stock.
Does ROM make change in GPS accuraccy? (Accuraccy of my GPS is pretty bad sometimes.
Does Rom change the battery life? And If yes count battery life in question 1
In User manual it says you must use only official LG batteries otherwise the phone may explode. Is that true?
Is overclocking safe and does it have any downsides?
What is the difference between Mod and Rom?
Is There Any Way How To Change backlight brightness. It just wastes battery at night
Problems :
Bluetooth doesnt work. I tap it but nothing happens.
TTS doesnt work either .anytime Im trying to get in TTS settings I get a force close
My media volume keeps randomly going to one state. While Im listening to music or even when screen is off. Im using audioguru but in every profile is media volume set to 0.
Phone reboots after turning on Wi-Fi. It works First time after reboot but when I turn it off and then on it reboots.
CPUs second core seems to be offline all the time. I'll post photo taken right after playing a game while CPU is set on 1 ghz . Sometimes I hear something from back of a phone when playing games but Im not sure if Thats it. I dont often get lags when playing games like asphalt 6 so i dont really know.
Another Problem is what I already mentioned. eXtreme battery drain. 2-5 hours depends if im browsing and watching videos or my phone just sits in pocket.
And The last thing not that big deal is that norton antivirus is showing that location service or whatever it is has a malware in it (I 'll post photo)
If you could Answer any of these please do it. Thanks . Sorry for bad english

Note 4 Bell Canada
Updated 5.0.1
Day 3 Extra Info
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Full day at work 85% battery at the end
Google Chrome PC and Android bookmark history sync works perfectly
Wifi hotspot works perfectly every time ... no dreaded "Limited connectivity" like I used to see with the GS3
Fast charging is awesome .... with the stable battery usage of Note4 with 5.0.1 it is so easy to keep this phone charged.
Bad: My phone keeps taking screenshots when I am on the lock screen and I don't know why.
Day 2 Extra Info:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Good:
As far as I can tell everything works.
Bluetooth dropouts during locked state drastically reduced ..... sometimes stutters once a few seconds after lock and none observed after (JVC Car Audio Unit)
Menu multitask key is just as snappy as before (I had already disabled Google talkback)
Battery life is great ..... At 6*% after a full day at work ..... my GS3 was often near zero after a ful day in the same location
I can now give permissions to write to a microSD card
Standby battery life is great ...... charged 100% went to sleep .... woke up at 98% (My GS3 would be somewhere between 60 and 70% same location)
Every app I have is behaving normally
The Bad:
I got one random Google + forced close so far (that is no so bad I guess)
Update Process: Smooth as silk, no crashes, no lockups, no forced closures
The UI: New notifications are great, a lot of little improvements including and x if you want to close an app
Performance: same as before ... great no keyboard issues yet, no issues with toggling things on and off, Chrome scrolls web pages smoothy
Apps: All apps seem to work ... no forced closes
Battery: no obvious differences ... to early to tell
Things Fixed: My bluetooth connection stuttered like crazy in the car if the phone was locked .... seems like this was fixed in 5.0.1 ....
Seems like the max volume is louder now
I'm on Bell too and my experience is very similar to yours. So far I'm very happy with the update. No problems and I'm enjoying some of the new changes.

1. Power Saving on/off from setting not working. (No changes when u slide on the slider to on/off, only working via notification toggle)
2. GPU thermal throttling for benchmark. (I'm not a fan of benchmarking, but it's interesting to see the 3D behaviors on 5.0.1 unable to perform as what it should be if the phone temperature not cold enough)
3. Waze graphical glitches.
These are some of the possible bug that I realized and it need to be fixed in the next update.
However, overall experience still not that bad. The main issue for me now is the Waze graphical glitches which force me to temporary using Nokia Here Map at the moment.
I'm on BOC3 Malaysia. You may take a look on my signature for version information.

I'm from Malaysia too. But i don't have power saving problem.
Wake did not work properly.
Recent apps slower than before. Like 2 second lag.
No more option to change lockscreen animations
Data usage unable to view data usage in short period of time.
Some features were removed after upgrade.
Only useful additional thing is smart lock

As on 5.0.1, there are Pros & Cons.
Pros:
1. The finger print now is much much better than Kitkat
2. Feel like a bit faster.
Cons:
1. The Bluetooth is not so clear like on Kitkat and time to time no voice even if still on Bluetooth connecting. (Already try to unpair and repair, still not ok)
2. A bit warmer than Kitkat.
3. Eat more RAM than before
4. After sync calendar with Kies, all calendar on device are gone but still existing in outlook calendar.
Remark: I'm on SM-N9100 DUOS
Anyone having trouble with super su not granting privilege after rooting in G ?
I hate the lag and switch between screens on the brightness slider. I've gone back to kk
My experience has been great when it works (smoother UI, better battery life surprisingly).
One major issue though. 3 times, the phone rebooted overnight. All three times, it was while it was plugged into the charger, and it was stuck on the SAMSUNG logo (with bubbles animation). But I cannot get past it, and trying to restart via holding down the power button does not work.
Has anyone else experienced this yet?

I AM experiencing this. I honestly think this update has broken my phone. My Samsung Galaxy S4 - when turned on, stays on the logo screen. Luckily for you it doesn't always do that but my phone won't even fully start up so I haven't been on it for two days. I really suggest you back up your phone because there may be a chance of it not turning on ever, like mine and a few phone shops are saying I need to completely wipe it. Does anyone know how to help? It would mean the world, thanks!
Battery life pretty disappointing. getting a good 10-14 hours under light usage. Heavy usage is out of the question if I'm leaving the house.
I downloaded the update yesterday and until now I must say it's amazing. Problems I had before with kitkat are gone. The speed is much faster. It's all so smooth and flat. I like it. I can't understand why everyone has issues with it. I'm using Note 4 SM-N910F.
So I got my nexus 6 last black Friday. I have mainly been running pure nexus since then. My issues with it are many.
Terrible battery life. I'm running greenify, tasker, amplify, and better battery stats. I have improved it somewhat but I would like to know I can get a day out if it. I am not a heavy user at all. I'm at 35% an hour right now but can get it down to 8-11%. The is screen off and not many wakelocks reported. Smh.
It is laggy as hell. Chrome takes a while loading websites, keyboard takes a while coming up and sometimes doesn't come up.
I'm running elite kernal at the moment with interactive governor. I also have xposed installed with a few apps.
Can anyone give me some advice?
ok so i would backup whatever needs backing up, flash back to the latest factory image and then see if the phone acts the same.
If it is still this abomination that you describe then get it replaced/warranty.
Try that report back, good luck im interested in the outcome.
I'd go with Skinpipe's advice. But don't load all those apps back on when you test. I'd bet you have an app gone rogue with wake locks or maybe kernel issues. Anyway with a fresh new factory image - and none of your current apps, you'll know.
Thanks I will try that and report back.

Stock unfortunately runs like crap no matter what I tried the closest I came to Nexus 5 smoothness was stock + Elite kernel with Blu-active CPU governor. battery was still kinda crap though.
If you really want smooth I'd recommend Pure Nexus rom + elite kernel w/ blu active. <-- This is that kind of combo where you actually follow instructions and make a backup of before every update because it's so good.

you do realize that "so good" depends on the user? and your so good can be my terrible. I guess I'm better off, because I can use any custom kernel, change up how the CPU works, and become happy instantly. I'd even recommend the op to learn about governors and schedulers, what they do, and how to adjust them and everything that goes with them. I also use pure nexus BTW, but with despair kernel. despair kernel because its extremely easy to get what you want out if your CPU with it.
Thanks for all the help. I reflashed stock N and ran it for a few days. Now I'm on stock N by rocketpanda and it running 1000x better. Battery life has greatly improved. I get close to a full day now maybe even more but I have only been using it lightly. It is snappier. I put on Nova launcher but I think stock launcher was snappier. I did have to up the min CPU freq because it wasn't waking from screen off correctly. Battery life still good though. I also clean installed all apps and left off a few that I use and will just keep those on my tablet (Bluetooth apps)
One quirk is keyboard popping up slow at times. I disabled the option of letter pop-up but still acts up.
Other issues I think are app/N specific. Google play games won't log into my account. Chrome still loads slow. Bluetooth won't always turn on after turning off.
I will look into governors since it is not as fast as my old note 3. I think there is some room for improvement.
Right now I'm happy though. Don't know how much of a fan I am of preview N since still figuring it out. I have no xposed install which is fine. I am off work next week so may try going back to PN.
