I just downloaded and installed Liberty on my D3. I got it all set up the way I want it and I'm loving it! The only problem is that I realized that Google Voice isn't installed and I am unable to find it in the market. I tried going to m.google.com/voice and I am unabled to follow that market link, it just gives me no results. Anyone have a fix for this? I rely on Google Voice quite a bit.
1. You didn't need to make your own thread about this when there is a Liberty thread literally right underneath it.
2. Just restore a backup of Google Voice.
what if you don't have a Google Voice backup?
Google for a GV APK. It's what I had to do.
This issue remains unsolved,

Completely wiped and flashed the phone with Darchdroid 2.7, installed google shopper, and when I click to search by image...the app tries to launch the camera, and it comes up with an error saying that 'the android camera encountered a problem' and then some suggestion about restarting.
any idea how to get the camera search working on this app?
Thanks!
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6824157&postcount=26ts from his thread, hope it works and if you already did this go to WebIRC and ask around, Im sure some one in there will be able to help you out.
a google shopper update just fixed this issue
google shopper
what is google shopper and can you please give me instructions on how to load the camera fix? thank you
Tried searching..
My rooted NC has been working perfectly. I have downloaded lots of apps. Now when I am on the market everything seems fine but files will not download. It just sits there on "starting download". The only thing I can think of is I used Titanium backup to "wipe data" on the market app...I am a noob, was that dumb?? I thought that might clear my market search history that keeps adding up. Any thoughts?
mine does that once in a while. i just reboot the nook and it starts again
I have re-booted a few times...no luck.
I had that symptom after I deleted Google Talk. I just re-auto-nootered & all was fixed. Nothing was disturbed. I never heard any feedback on whether or not that was a viable restore method, but it worked for me by restoring the missing files. If I were you, though, I would wait for someone else to chime in & give some guidance.
Cheers,
kev
now that I think about it my Gmail has not been working either. I am not getting notifications of new mail. When I launch Gmail and hit refresh it will get my mail, but not automatically like it used to....must some google account issue????
make sure you log into Google talk which should fix the issue.
My experience also supports the need to be signed into Google Talk in order to download from the Market.

I may have logged into google talk when I first rooted...but I have not touched that app since. I tried to launch it and it kicks me back to my home screen right away. Tried a reboot..same thing.
re-rooted, problem solved.
I rooted my Nook Last night, everything seemed to work fine as well. now( about an hour ago) the Marketplace stopped downloading.
Is re-rooting the only answer?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Hey all,
Two day old NC owner, rooted with froyo, and everything's great.
I have a stupid question though.
Why can't I find facebook in the Android Marketplace?
Is there somewhere else/somehow else I should get it?
Thanks,
you can find the answer in many places on this board and @ nookDevs.
There may be a simpler way than using ADB though.
Try using market enabler after doing the clear market cache and google services framework cache dance.
Don't remember exact steps off the top of my head so you'll have to search, but do the "dance" mentioned above, then reboot, then first thing use ME and then when you open market you have a much better chance of finding what you are looking for.
Worked for me!
user brianf21 has an app in the dev section that can clear the market and dalvik cache too. Not sure if it does the google services framework or not.
I had the same problem when I installed HC. Then I did a search for the word "widget", scrolling down the list you might see "Facebook for android". If you do, walla you found facebook
Good luck.
Pretty obvious what I need help with. Anyone know how to install google search?
Download it from the market
I think he means how to use the search key and root it to google which can't be done at the moment

google search keeps force closing
this is odd...
after uninstalling bing and installing google search from market it was working fine for a while (1-2 days)
now whenever i type more than 2 characters into the google search box it force closes.
tried uninstalling / reinstalling and clearing the app's data- no dice.
also tried with email history enabled and with it disabled.
any ideas?
I have mine working OK, but not with the Voice Search from the market. What I found was that the Voice Search from the market did not fully integrate with maps, etc (like saying: "Navigate to" came up with some ridiculous kbbb or something else, and speaking for an instant message was hideous).
I renamed the BingSearch.apk and the Bing service apk (can't remember the exact name) in the /System/Data directory (I'm rooted). I pulled the Voice Search APK out of a 2.2 ROM (specifically from my old device - Eris) from the System/Data directory and installed that (uninstalling the market version first). It integrated fully with EVERYTHING, but as of now, like you, my physical Search button doesn't work.
My search Button doesn't work with bing either lol. Straight outta the box. Nothing.

i'm rooted too. wish my google search would work when i hit the search soft key
This isn't for Google Search but it was posted for using the search to bring up the phone. Better than not being functional at all and you may be able to figure out how to make it Google Search.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/lg...val-breaks-search-button-requires-rooted.html
The problem with that is it changes the functionality of the Search button entirely. For some, that may work, but in certain applications, that button is still a method to search (like root explorer).

Its not the app. I just went through this when I got the Charge. Go to your Google dashboard and go to speech and click anonymize recognition. This deletes the voice recordings stored from your previous phone. Mine was coming up with kkkkk stuff when I first got the Charge. I guess different devices pick up your speech in a different manner. Try it and see if that fixes your issue.

As you guys may know, Google has integrated all their communication systems into the new Google Hangouts and it is started to rolling out.
Just wanted to let all root users know that you don't need to wait to get it as for some your Google Talk isn't being updated to Hangouts currently. Like if you have Talk currently and you go to the playstore and search hangouts it will say you already have it installed and you are updated to Hangouts even though you only have talk.
If you use something like Titanium Backup to uninstall Talk from your device, you can then go on to the playstore and be able to download and install the new Hangouts app.
I don't know if this has already been mentioned as I haven't seen a thread but just wanted to let people on to this little tip if you want to get it right away!
EDIT: I'm thinking now I might have probably posted this in the Themes and Apps forum, but I wasn't exactly sure if this should have been posted there as this is just a general tip. If any Mod wants to move this please do!

Anyone get the 'couldn't sign in because couldn't reach google, try again' or whatever? I get it every time :-\

You don't need to uninstall Google talk... You can use the Web Google play to install hangouts and it will automatically replaces the old talk or obtain the apk file from the web and install it over the Google talk.

I agree. I really miss the who is online and who is offline thing. You can VAGUELY tell by the contacts picture being grayed out, but that sucks compared to a red dot. Hit the menu button in the hangout app and hit send feedback. Request for this feature to be put back in.
Had problem today

1.Use some app to take backup of Google Play Services (ES File Explorer can do it for you) and save the apk locally. This is recommended because after the next step you may not be able to connect and re-download the update over Mobile Data. It would work on WiFi however.
2.Go to Manage Apps > Google Play Services
3.Do "Uninstall" / "Uninstall Updates" for Google Play Services
4.Google Hangout will automatically ask you to Install or Update Google Play Services.
5. If you "Uninstalled Updates", then the app would update over Mobile Data when you click on update in Google Play. After this go to Step #8
6.If you "Uninstalled" the app completely, you wouldn't find it in Google Play. So install it from the backup created in Step #1.
7.Now go to Google Play and install any updates for Google Play Services.
8.Now open Google Hangout. It may still show you a connection issue for a couple for times.
9.Don't lose your heart. It should work after you try for a maximum of 1-2 times.

I haven't been a huge fan of hangouts either yet. I use textra. I have heard that there might be some nice things in the works for it though. I'm keeping tabs on it.
