I know we are all excited about ice cream sandwich! was wondering if we get it for our phone does that mean we will have two sets of buttons? can we remove the soft buttons and just use the one's we have? Seems like it would be a easy of screen space for nothing.
Cheers

With ICS you can hide the on screen soft buttons whenever you want, and use the traditional Google buttons...

Hiding won't be an option as those buttons won't be included in our update if it comes. Now Google has officials that no is for nexus one cause of old hardware, doubts have started to creep in my mind too.

Is there a way to change the way options open up? Like when pressing menu in the browser, that box is extremely different from stock/cm6 and is hard to get used to but everything else about this rom is way cool.
Also where could I find the stock font to flash or push?

Sometimes while using my tablet, the screen suddenly "shifts" out of place: http://imgur.com/a/94hr8 Sometimes it also gets "corrupted": http://imgur.com/yErJp.jpg The tablet works normally when this happens, and it responds to touch at the correct position(i.e. touch doesn't change). It doesn't show up on screenshots. I haven't noticed it being "linked" to anything specific, and it's always done it. Turning the screen off and on again returns it to normal. Why does this happen? Is it solveable? I've tried googling around but nothing.
Thank you.
(I posted this same post to Reddit too)

Bump?

maybe you can post more details on your device
which rom? which cwm.....
It is completely stock 3.2, only rooted with a zip I flashed from stock recovery. I'm pretty sure it did that before rooting, though.

It sounds hardware related and nothing you'll be able to resolve. Are you still under warranty? If you are I'd take it in.

That's what I've been thinking. Thank you anyway.

I was wondering if a clever dev could use the botom lights from the buttons as an alternative to a dedicated led. Since the led is only usefull with the screen locked & off, the botom button lights could serve the same purpose. The buttons themselves would not be working, only the lights.
Could this idea work?

You may try to use noLED application
Good idea, but no-one has program for it yet.

The noled app seems ok, i'll try it. Thx for the tip

That's a kernel thing. It needs a kernel with bln (back light notification) support.

But it could be done... you're not saying no way
From what i understand this is a tricky one to develop. I will have to be patient :what:

I have used noLED but deleted it because. I don't like it.
Anyhow the idea that author suggests sounds great and very logic. I saw few apps that can turn off buttons backlight. So it can enabled via app

You should check the ButtonLed thread. Its an app that is based on the Tasker app and it's made for phones that don't have led lights but have soft led buttons. But it doesn't work with our devices, because of the kernel security / limitations. I have contacted the developer of the app and he said that our device is similar to some s2 models, where the button leds can't be on while the screen is off.
So as I said before, we need new kernel with bln option.

They are annoying the hell out of me. Is it just mine or it's a bug. But pretty frequently I won't be able to use one of the two buttons when in an app. I do have a screen protector but Idk if that plays a major role in it or not.

Samsung recently posted an ad on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nwuk90Gc2A) it shows Messi holding the note 3 but his version has a black keyboard. Does anyone know how to get that keyboard on our phone? Thanks in advance!

It looks like the Google keyboard. Which you can get from the app store. SwiftKey has a better black keyboard.

I normally use the Google keyboard but I actually really like the stock keyboard. Love that dedicated number row.

Seems like the stock one I'm actually used to the one my custom note 1 had so I just flashed that wonder why they would advertise the phone with something that doesn't come stock with it

I did like that dedicated number row. But geez. It takes up half the screen, and is ugly imo

That's definitely not the Google Keyboard.. it looks nice, though!
I am currently using AI KeyBoard. You can make it have the top row of numbers as well as a lot more customization features.. no swyping, though.

No that isn't it. The keyboard in the video looks like it is a stock samsung keyboard with the number row at the top. I suspect it maybe the N9005 or N9000 model that has a black keyboard???
I'm actually impressed with the stock keyboard so much that i haven't even installed swift key yet and I'm not sure i will. Light years ahead of the stock Note 2 keyboard.
