Hey guys, you know in Launcher pro with the facebook widget all the letters are white. Is there anyway I can change the text color?
There were some skins available you may try, i think.
I ditched LauncherPro and went Go Launcher Ex (which is free btw). There's a facebook widget from GO team that i actually find better than LauncherPro's.
I also found Go Launcher as smooth as LP, more skins, more options (iOS-like uninstall software one, for ex). Not really anything going for LP that would make me want to use it again.

I really like some of the Samsung widgets, but to not like the Touchwiz launcher. So, I installed Launcher Pro, which I vastly prefer. Unfortunately, now the Samsung widgets are not in the add widget menu.
Is there any trick I can do to get them back?
I'd also like to know this, the Facebook Stream widget was really useful, the stock one is awful!

Yeah that is the widget I want most as well.
It is the best I have seen for android so far that integrates both twitter and facebook. I tried out this one on the market called "Socialite", it is *OK*, but not as good as the Samsung one.
So i have to decide, do I want a decent integrated Facebook / Twitter widget, or do I want a decent launcher?

Does anybody have an answer to this? I myself like pretty much all the futures in TW - would mainly like to change the 4 icons on the bottom and maybe even have the ability to hide the notification bar.
Is there a way to incorporate TW samsung widgets into launcher pro for example?

I suppose Samsung's widgets are tied to the Touchwiz Launcher and incompatible with other launchers
It's a pity because I really like the Accuweather Clock over the other available widgets. But LauncherPro is so much better than the Samsung Launcher, I can't go without a launcher that lets me hide apps from the app drawer due to the massive amount of crap it gets flooded with.
You can change the left 3 icons on the bottom (but not the Applications one).
Just go to the Applications screen and press Menu and choose Edit. Then, move the icons off and put another in place.
I'm pretty sure it's impossible. I wanted to do that but was told by different ppl it was impossible. Same goes for Launcher Pro widgets in Touchwizz (i prefere the LP ones vs the Samsung). They are tied to the launcher u use.
You could put Home Switcher on each of the home screens of TW and LP then just switch between them just like moving to a different page. Just an idea.

One more thing, does launcher pro juice the battery as same as TW? And when I used launcher pro in the past, I really liked to use the option "hide notification bar", i think it gives it a cleaner look, but at the same time it won't notify me when i receive an email ( other than the sound), I did search this in the past with no luck, so is there a widget, icon, something that I can install that will show on the screen when I received email, when using LP?

I use executive assistant but it is a paid app. Worth it I believe though.
Hi everyone, I've been playing with new Nexus S (my first android phone) for a few days now, and I can't decide on which homescreen launcher to use because each has features I like and lacks some that the others have. Maybe someone can find a remedy for me. I've made some notes about what I like or dislike about the following three launchers I've used.
ADWLauncher EX:
Separate catalogs on drawer
Lacks scrolling dock (hidden dock is less intuitive to me)
Best homescreen transitions
Go Launcher:
Gesture response for icons on dock
Tab to see running apps from app drawer that lets you kill or switch between tasks easily. However, the tab takes away space from the icons. Maybe there's another way to access something like this, a gesture for example? (image here)
Best edit function for screens: provides convenient way to move icons from one screen to another, lets reposition screens, delete
2 touch access to phone settings from menu button
Share access from menu button

The main reason I use LPP is because of he cal widget and being able to use custom dock images. Over ADW EX that is.

I am guessing you mean LauncherPro? Compared to drag-and-drop of HelixLauncher dock config, LauncherPro dock IS hard to config.
Why is LauncherPro so popular here? I feel like its the most limited. No long-hold uninstall or edit from the homescreen like the others. I liked it the least out ADW, Go Launcher, and LauncherPro.

I think LPP was the first Launcher to have a drop-to-uninstall function.

I love what the VEGAn DEV's have done with my G-Tab versus the crap that came with it. One request would be to modify the size/number/spacing of icons on the screens but I cannot seem to find that as an option in the default launcher? I see that if I use a different launcher I can but so far I have spent a lot of time getting the icons and such setup and do not want to have to start again.
Am I missing something or is screen customization not an option with the default VEGAn launcher?

Exactly. Used other homes but I have always gone back to LP. The donate version has awesome Widgets and you can resize Widgets which comes in handy on the gtablet. Oh ant the transition effects are amazingly cool. Free version is Rad, donate version is Rad +10%.
Zeam free version lets you size Widgets and I love the dock
I use GO Launcher EX and GO SMS Pro and I am happy with them. What do you guys think about GO Contacts? is it fast?. If u guys use other GO products please state their name. Thank You!

Go SMS Pro and Go Launcher EX. To every1 who use Go Launcher I can recommend GoWidgets Calendar and Messaging, both are really cool and functional. I think Go Contacts is great, but unfortunately there is no Norwegian translation so I'll stick with TouchPal until that's fixed
I use Go keyboard and sometimes Go launcher Ex.
Aah, and I forgot that I use Go Weather as well. It looks really nice and I use the HTC widget skin
Have tried them all, but needed a lock-screen pop-up for SMS, so abandoned GoSMS for Handcent. Go Contacts was laggy when I tried it, now trying Contapps. Go Launcher Ex was OK, but since I'm using Elelinux 7.0 ADW works better. Still, I like their style!

I've settled on Go Launcher EX and GoSMS, after trying ADW, Launcher Pro(paid) & and Handcent. All on recommendations from friends.
Overall I like the customizations, ease of use, and 'snappiness' of both apps over their marker alternatives.
I tried GoCalendar widget, but can't offer you anything more than, "I just really wasn't feelin' it"...if you can follow me on that.
GoWeather was ok, but again wasn't feelin' it. Decided on the weather app within Beautiful Widgets which I use as my clock widget.
I use the go launcher with a really great theme ( Real Black ) its so great and is fast
And use the calendar widget.
The weather i use the beautiful widgets only without animation.

E.g. Currently I have go launcher where I have places icons and widgets in 7 screens, if I want to try apex , adw or any other launcher then I have to re create everything from scratch which is quite painful. Specially if you want to try ICS roms, go launcher is quite boring. I would love to try other launchers but it required a lot of manual effort to migrate.

Screen shots may be your only answer - but I would suggest that go launcher is a very good launcher and you may just be wasting you own time looking at others, just to revert back to what you have already,

migrating of screens from other launcher is the feature of the launcher itself.. i don't think there is any specific app for this.. I could be wrong though but apex launcher certainly doesn't support migration.. go launcher supports I think but that you are already using..
just install a new one without deleting the existing one and keep the one you like best
