The part number is pretty close and it looks exactly like the one I took out. If anybody has tried this and failed let me know. If I decide to fork over 90 buck I will reply back with my results.
Dell Streak 7 LCD
I ordered this on Saturday and received today. I installed it and the LCD works great. My only issue now is the right side of my screen is not responding. Its about an inch from the edge of the screen. I may have damaged my digitizer when I dropped it. Any suggestions.
Hi, can you confirm the compatibility of the new screen?
my streak suddenly go blank (no dell logo during the boot, only blank). i think its' a screen fault and this post can save my streak...

The screen works great. I found that in the process of dismantling the unit I punctured the Digitizer flex ribbon. It works great except there is about 1" of the bottom of the screen that does not respond.
suprduprchunk,
I dropped and cracked the glass on my S7 this afternoon. The screen itself is perfect, just cracks in the glass. Does the glass come apart from the screen? Did the Screen you bought come with the glass? Any ideas where I could buy the gorilla glass by itself? I've been Googling but so far have had no luck.
thanks,
DC
The screen and glass are not glued together, there's in fact an air gap.
The glass and lcd are all on one sub-assembly, but I dont know if the glass can be easily removed from it. I believe it's fairly easy to swap out the lcd itself though.
Could you provide some insight into this? I havnt bothered disassembling that part of the s7.

Did the screen you bought look identical to this one? It has the same Samsung # as the ad on ebay you bought from.

There have to be other people out there who need parts!
Hi, my name is Marvin, and I'm a long time fan of XDA (all the way back to my 1st pocket PC: Audiovox 4100!),
and I've 'evolved' to my current devices: Sony Experia Play R800x (Verizon flashed to Cricket) & a Viewsonic G Tablet ;^ )
I just bought a Streak 7 with a cracked screen on craigslist for $50! Well, once I got home, I was glad to see that the digitizer seemed intact, and only the LCD underneath was cracked (badly). I've replaced several phone LCDs/digitizers (yes, I have 3M tape strips!)... so, I thought "no problem, $50-75 on eBay" Oops!!! Boy was I wrong!!!
All I could find were Streak 5 LCDs for $48... and NONE for the Streak 7! (found NOTHING online, called Dell support: $249, and they don't sell parts) Yikes!
So, I found the PDAdb.com datasheet (DUH!), and searched for '7" TFT LCD 800x480 40 pin' that matched the specs the best... and I found the same Samsung panel that suprduprchunk wrote about here in this thread! Cool. Glad to know it works!!! *the LMS700KF23 has better viewing angles than the 05/06 versions, so it seems to be the one to get.
LOL sorry for the blabbin... I'm just stoked to have found this thread, and the prospects for 'my current gadget daydream' to have a happy ending!
(I just can't wait to see this cool new toy light up, and start exploring) :^ )

Steak 7 data sheet you mentioned:
PDAdp.net http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2329&view=1&c=dell_streak_7_4g__looking_glass_dell_opus_one
I found the data sheet for the LMS700KF23 and it has a 40 pin ribbon, not 60 pin. Did you mean to write 40?
Also I found that the source that supplies the LMS700KF23 also will sell the Touch Panel screen only. I broke the glass on my screen but the LCD screen works perfectly so I need glass only.

Has anyone found any other sources for parts? One guy did find a screen for around $90 delivered. I only need the class that covers the LCD screen. I can't believe Dell has abandoned customers who bought the Streak 7. I posted a link a week or so ago to an ebay seller from China (?) who sells the replacement screen and offers his customers replacement glass only for $10. I contacted him and he says it wouldn't be worth my while to have only the glass shipped. I imagine he wants to sell the screen for the $90 and as a bonus throws in inexpensive glass only replacements.

Digitizer Source
Hello everybody. I have the same exact problem with my tablet; except it just stopped working, but not dropped. I need some guidance, and I also found a repair website if anybody is tired of waiting to find some sources. I also would like to know if anybody has tried that digitizer a few posts above.
Thanks,
NegaNexus
Spoke with the eBay guy in China, he wasn't sure about the part numbers. I have one I got on eBay with a broken screen and may not power up, need the charger to find out. I told him I'll open it and get the part numbers.
IF anyone has the actual part numbers, not the replacement ones, then he said he can help us find the LCDs and the Digitizers, the glass could be sold with the replacement parts. I can find out once I have some part numbers to send him.
"If you find the part number,I can look for it or I can find a supplier, who can do a customizd TP for that LCD."
Not to be offtopic
I'm looking for a source for the power brick - I bought my DS7 from a member here and the spring-clip that holds the blade to the charging brick was broken off. Not to mention, would be nice to be able to charge my cell phone at twice the speed as the original charger was able to do - have tested it with the DS7 charger (duct-taped in place) and it ran my battery to full on the quick
The charger is just a standard [email protected] usb charger with the data pins shorted together.

I've just posted a new support ticket requesting more info - will report back as soon as I get a reply, thanks.
I wouldn't be that worried about using the screen without a protector.
Normally I'm a strong advocate in using screen protectors but the glass screen is phenomenally strong.
tis not for me mate , more so for my mates who seem to like using their fingernails on a HTC device - lord knows why?
I've just bought these and still waiting them to be delivered, it looks OK...

I dont see the point of the invisible shield, especially the full body kit. The idea is to protect the phone, but just the act of fitting the kit ruins the phone. They look horrible and peal off and sometimes areas bond so hard you scratch the phone removing it (which you need to because they look awful!)
If its done right it looks and feels right mate. Screen protectors are available as far as I'm aware but not the full body shield.
When you've got 2 kids running around itching to watch cbeebies you'll know why its an essential requirement for your new toy - my daughter managed to scratch my Touch HD face down on stone when she got her mitts on it last time! -

Invisible shield very invisible!!!!!!!! ;-)
Hello!
As I first tought that I'll buy an Samsung omnia2 ( but now I comand a HTC HD2!!) I command on Zacc USA an invisible shield for the O2. It was more than one month ago.... 5mn after they took the money on my CB, and never sent the confirmation mail ( Happily I copy the screen!) One week kater.. no news and the shield was still not sent (they say "sent one or two opened days) ... I wrotte then a mail: no answer... I call them with their chat and suddenly I received then an answer for my mail!... they said they send it from england (I'm in france) and there is a strike of the post in england...and anyway they'll take the money wonly when they send it!... but the money was already taken!...
One week later the shield was still not sent!... I call them again.... and suddenly in the 5 mn it was written that the shield was sent!.... now 2 weeks later my shield is so invisible that I still haven't seen it! .........
.I'm going to call them again but I find they are really not serious!........ and it is directly from the factory!!!!!! It's the last time I'll buy something there!!!!!!!

Resetting phone with invisible shield ???
If we put on the invisible shield, I think we need to peel off to remove the battery cover...as some time my HD2 stops responding...and I can even do a soft reset with the application that I have installed...the only way I found is to reset using the RED button behind the battery cover to bring it back to work...
That's made me have second thoughts about the Invisible Shield which I was close to buying. Do you really have to peel the back off to replace the battery or the MicroSD card? Sounds like you must do.

I did not found it...
According to Zagg, mine has been dispatched so i'll let you all know what it's like.
I picked up the screen protectors that are sold through Sprint. They were $14.99and there were three in the pack.
I wanted an anti-flare protector and I have to say I have not been disappointed. I am very pleased with them so far.
They can be purchased here

My local BB didn't have any either... but they weren't sold out. The guy told me they hadn't gotten any in yet. I didn't find it on BB's website either.
Last week I sent a support ticket to Zagg via their website asking when it would be available. No answer yet. =/
Does anyone know if the Zagg for the Evo 4G was available in retail stores right when the phone launched? Or did it take a few weeks?
i'll be picking up an invisibleshield as soon as they're out. i'm not too worried about my screen getting scratched since i dedicate one of my pants pockets to it
Is the screen gorilla glass?
i don't think so, otherwise HTC would've specifically said so.
The HTC EVO Shift 4G LCD's compostion is not Corning's Gorilla Glass/CGG. Currently, the Motorola i1 and Samsung EPIC 4G are the only two wireless devices in the Sprint Nextel product line to use CGG. Head over to http: // www dot corninggorillaglass.com/ to learn more about the innovative technology of CGG and why over time I believe all wireless devices will be equipped in it.
Best buy does have them. I went to one today to get the zagg and a case. They at first said no to both. I said that's lame, you're usually right on top of that kind of stuff. I looked and found the zaggs but I needed to use the phone the rest of the day and putting it in and out of my pocket wouldn't be good because the sp needs to dry without any major disruptions to the process. I got the blue hard case with the rubber back at sprint and will get the zagg very soon.
Here's something interesting... Zagg just got back to me about the status of the invisibleSHIELD...

Rather odd considering I just found this:
www -dot- bestbuy -dot- com/site/ZAGG+-+InvisibleSHIELD+for+HTC+Shift/1807233.p?id=1218293490329&skuId=1807233
My previous BestBuy search failed since it doesn't say "Evo" in the product title/description. But it's definitely not a screen protector for the HTC Shift ultra-portable PC from 2008.
EDIT: Please excuse the missing hyperlink. Us n00bs can't be trusted.
I got this phone on the 6th and nobody had any anti-glare protectors, which i absolutely love on my phone. So i went to who sold them and searched out the best sized one. Came to the anti-glare Droid 2, just need to cut the volume cutout off and its a good fit. Just covering the screen, not the buttons.

They don't make or carry them eh?
paid for one on bb.com and picked it up in store since i knew nobody would know wtf it is. put it on, i either really suck at putting these on or they're insanely hard to get perfect.
I tried one over a year ago and it was such a pain that I decided to pay them to do it. Depending on the person, they can get it better than most other people can. I had them mess up one on my epic and they just pulled another one off the shelf and redid it. Not flawless but pretty damned good and much better than I could have done.
well i'll let it settle for a day or two and see if microbubbles and the liquidy look underneath the protector go away. if not i might just be taking this thing off, it's more trouble than it's worth and i bought it with a gift card anyway.
I've used Zagg and Skinomi. Skinomi hands down.

i was just about to ask how the Skinomi TechSkins are, amazon has them for 10 bucks (well for pre-order) and was thinking of giving them a try, i usually use the Zagg protectors but am willing to try something new
The TechSkin is about the same as far as application goes. Where they differ is the feel and resistance to dust.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I applied the Sprint anti-glare protector, and it looked horrible. I know some of them take a little time to git rid of air bubbles and stuff, but it looked bad and I accidentally messed one corner up when applying. So I put one of the regular protectors from the same pack on and it has been fine ever since.
I do wish it covered more of the glass, not just the part of the glass with the screen under it.
I bought some of those screen protectors from Sprint also. I'm pretty good with putting them on, so that wasn't a problem at all. But wow, I put the anti-glare screen protector on and it made the screen look horrible. It really takes the "crispiness" out of the screen. When I got home, I immediately took that one off and put one of the regular screen protectors on that came in the sprint screen shield package.
I put the anti-glare protector on pretty much as soon as I started playing with the phone. After reading your guys comments I decided to take it off.
Man what a difference!
This thread is created specifically for the purpose of keeping you informed, updated and guide you with regards to pricing/tutorial for the replacement of OEM specific parts for your Galaxy Note 2 (n7100). I have excluded ebay and amazon as they are limited to paypal users and usually the sellers don't ship internationally therefore I have only posted links of manufacturer who ship globally. I will be keeping it updated as we go along and will also include a poll to vote for various known suppliers based on their reliability, delivery services, pricing and quality of their parts. However, I will not be including the shipping charges as it tends to vary depending on your location or accessibility.

Although, I would suggest getting a Heat Gun (see picture below) inorder to melt the adhesive holding the glass panel and digitzer. However, if you dont have one, you can always use a hairdryer instead as the heat produced is good enough

I think you got it wrong mate, this is posted in the n7100/n7105 section. I'm not sure what models are sold by Verizon but if its the n7105 then no these housing are meant specifically for the n7100. However, feel free to check the website as they do have alternatives.
Edit: actually I just noticed for some reason the accessories threads are all shared on the different note 2 forums. Although I clearly specified the model above.

With regards to eTradeSupply.com, I purchased a replacement OEM Titanium Grey N7105 battery cover (which specifically says LTE at the bottom near the speaker grill) and it was an exact match to the original battery cover that came with my phone (which I decided to cover with carbon fibre vinyl), with working NFC chip.
The battery cover came from US to Australia in under 2 weeks, which isn't too bad. Was well packaged and was exactly what I ordered.

A note about this part, it's extremely difficult to change only the glass, have a look at this video to make sure you're up to it before buying any parts.

Thanks Rene for the heads up. I'll update the OP with this video if you don't mind. This would prove really useful for a lot of folks at xda since its a cheaper alternative to replacing the whole display unit, although, seldom people are aware of its difficulty.

You're right the battery covers are all the same fit. Its just the difference is with the rear housing which has a different antenna configuration.

Give and take a few months after that phone in the video was released. Just a wild guess.
How am i supposed to do this at home? i think it's pretty impossible, you won't ever get the quality you get with sending it into maintenance..

Ive updated the OP. Its not that hard just need a lot of patience and to be very careful. It really depends on you, and unless youre giving it to a high tech phone repair shop expect the phone to not be in the same quality as it was from the manufacturer. In most cases these technician will charge you for the full replacement of the screen unit as it requires less work and cost you more.
Note to the OP :
might wanna add some small but very handy and quickly worn-out things like the usb plug's pcb, the loudspeaker and /or buzzer assembly, replacement front and rear camera modules, and many specific body parts that are all available at parts4repair.com (a not very well known, but very reliable and cheap site, has a very broad parts stock and some of the best deals I been able to find anywhere for my note2 or galaxyS2. I get all my parts from them and never had a complaint about the service or parts anyways).

Where can I get the micro USB part? Is it interchangeable with the n7105?

As they don't seem to have the equivalent for the 7105 I assume they're interchangeable.
I'd go ahead and try it : it's only about 20 bucks including shipping after all, and you ain't risking much by swapping out such a part 'for triesies'. At worst it just won't be PIN-compatible and you'll not be able to plug it in, and at the very worst it just won't work (but you won't even have to return it, as the sheer number of N7100 in circulation right now makes the probability of you finding someone who's complaining of a jumpy USB port on theirs a very very high one... Those people are always happy to take it off your hands -especially if you offer to mount it for them -for a small fee of course ).
great tip for people who broke there phone screen.
Amazing thread this is what I was looking for and the links to the places for the parts is just awesome. I recently posted a problem with my screen (post can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2501900 user @shhbz suggests a Digitizer replacement. I have been looking all over the place and I can't find just the digitizer? I'm new to the hardware part of the N7100. Is it digitizer sold alone? or is it a package sort of deal? where can I find just the digitizer?
thanks in advance for the help and again amazing post. :good:

This may be out dated, the version for the 7105 and 7100 is slightly different, I actually have the spare part for the N7105 purchased about half a year ago, never had the chance to use it, been using wireless charging.
We only get the parts in pieces ?
Dont we get the whole MotherBoard ?
Can't believe this happened all of a sudden but I dropped my backpack with my Tab S 8.4 in it, and cracked the screen! First time I've damaged a device like this! A quick lookup seems to indicate that the glass is attached to the digitizer so I'd have to replace the whole thing. Probably not worth it?!

Of course it's worth it, but I'd send it to Samsung rather than replace it yourself.
The reason is when I first got my HTC m8 I smashed the screen and the casing within the first 2 weeks of buying it.
I sent it to htc and they completely repaired it, LCD, digitizer, housing, speakers, shipping both ways, all for £103.
This was less than what it would have cost for me to buy the parts alone.
It's not always as expensive as you think.
That is either a weird angle, some odd camera that to the picture, or when you dropped your tab s it hit hard enough to alter the shape, because the dimensions in the picture look off.
if your amoled screen is still working, it would be better just to replace the digitizer, way much cheaper than a whole new device
The exact same thing happened to me this week. I dropped my galaxy tab s 8.4 from no more than a meter high and the screen shattered. I was really surprised because I've dropped my iPad from much higher than that with no cracks.
Here in Australia the galaxy tab s 8.4 costs $400 new. I was quoted 400 to fix at an official samsung repair Centre. I couldn't even buy an after market screen off eBay for less than 280. So I bought a complete used s 8.4 from eBay for 250.

The picture is taken with a Galaxy Note 4 lol... I took it at an angle so you could see the cracks really well. If I am using it and not on a white screen you can't really see them.
Thanks for all the input everyone. I might just keep using it as-is because I was thinking of looking at the Tab S2 when it comes out. But, I might contact Samsung just to see. Thanks again

If that's the case why not just put a screen projector on it to make it smooth again?

The device came with a screen protector when I got it from someone on CL, then yesterday I pulled it out of my bag not knowing it had been damaged, saw the lines and thought wtf? I eventually took the protector off and was sad to see the lines were actually on the screen.... and now I actually ruined the protector. But it's alright, the cracks aren't very deep and it's still smooth enough. But yeah, that might also help keep it from cracking further..
I have the 10.5 with tempered glass. I really hope the same thing does not happen to me. I have been strongly considering an otterbox case or something for my device. *Wow*

Yeah, we should be careful with this device. It was in a padded backpack that fell from just a few feet and didn't even land right on the Tab I don't think. Had only a Samsung book cover case on it.

Lesson learned and point very well taken!
I know this doesn't quite relate but I chipped the smallest bit on my N9 right by the bottom speaker. Somehow It completely cracked the whole screen. Couldn't believe it. Reason I'm posting this is because the N9 is the same in the sense you need to replace like everything from what I've seen but I can't say for sure if thats what there going to do for yours. N9 is apparently really crappy to work on which is why they just pull the whole front panel off. Now I know there different devices but I feel your pain lol. HTC told me $125 to $350 depending which repair center lol ridiculous. Hopefully Samsung will give you a decent price and won't have to replace everything like they did to my buddies Tab S 10.5.
Atleast I know now to never put it in a backpack. I had mine in one a few months ago since I had to go to a place. Other than that my Tab S stays home (naked)

Thanks for the responses everyone! I declined the repair from Samsung, it was gonna cost 159 I believe. I've just been using the Tab as-is.. normally I hate any blemish on my devices but I'm surprising myself by not caring too much. Although I am setting my sights on maybe the Tab S2 or something..
It's too late now but for future reference next time consider buying damage insurance like Squaretrade. You can find discount codes and purchase it at a very reasonable price. I get it for all of my screened devices. I had to use it when I broke the screen on my Galaxy S4. There is a deductible but it is much cheaper then paying the full price of repairs or a new device.

Hello guys i cracked my screen today and it cracked from topright corner and it has cracked lines till bottom left and right is there any suggestions what i can do? Is it worth replacing it what can i do?
I dont think so it worths, I had The same scenario with yrrchsebor. My 10.5 with gsm device was dropped about 2 feet height and first it looked like a smooth action to the ground but when i took the device i cant belive my eyes. I used it with screen protector glass but the problem was the screen didnt touch anywhere, devices housing corner first hit the ground and this made a pressure on the housing and yawn it. Also not bad like yrrchsebors picture my device screen was broken and there were so many cracks on the bottom right. Using screen protectors or covers doesnt protect those fragile devices. I bought my device with a good deal about 380 usd from Turkey and service asked 300usd for screen replacement. Search many many different special services for a month but there is no way to change the glass seperately because of the glued glass and lcd. Anyway i think im gonna sell it about 150 bucks and may be take tab s 2. My other tab is air 2 and it also looks like too fragile after this occuraance. Parallel to device improvements and technology it seems that we have to be more carefull when using this kind of devices. May be more thiny more light devices makes a sensation but on the other hand producers have to be focus on stability too. Take care and also devices
I have just ordered a new screen assembly from Ebay at £169, mine is the 10.5 4 G and I have seen how much these sell for and it far exceeds £169, so if you are handy with a screwdriver and wangle tool I would recommend it.
Hello everyone,
So my p20 pro back glass just broke :crying:
anyone have any idea how to replace it and how much the replacement should cost ?
Thanks!
I feel your pain! My rear lens just smashed. No idea how it happened. Was fine this morning. Checked phone at lunchtime and it's smashed !? It's the lens over the middle camera. Phone's only been in my pocket (not with keys etc.) or padded phone pocket in bag.
I can not find any replacment parts for sale. Huawei quoted 100 or so pounds to repair the lens, as they replace the entire back cover, so I guess that would be the cost for you too
Whilst googling for spare parts I came across sites complaing how difficult the phone was to repair and how easy it is to damage.
Guess i'll need to find a case that protects those camera lenses better.
100£ :crying:
I found this one on aliexpress
aliexpress[.]com/item/Original-GLASS-For-Huawei-P20-PRO-Back-Battery-Cover-Rear-Door-Housing-Case-Glass-Panel-Replacement/32883939820.html but I'm not so sure if I'm capable to replace it myself...
Only the lens it's cheaper tho : aliexpress[.]com/item/For-Huawei-P-20-pro-p20-pro-Replacement-Back-Rear-Camera-Lens-Glass-For-Huawei-P20pro/32872094518.html
Thanks for the links.
The lens looks interesting but I hope that pic isn't accurate, because it doesn't seem right.
On my phone the bevels around each camera are a different size, and there are two more holes for the lazers range finder things?
Yeah I just check mine, I guess this lens is not for the pro version
I just ask a Huawei's Service center :
The original one is about 90€ + 30€ fee = about 120€ :crying:
I've found a lens cover on ebay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lots-OEM...-For-Huawei-P20-P20-Lite-P20-Pro/113025697876
And from the same place, a glass back:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhfzXeLu55k
I bought one yesterday. The rear panel should arrive in about 2 weeks.
I'll let you know
In regards to replacing parts on the this phone, if you need a tear down and i'm guessing you will, to retain it's waterproofing and your warranty, i'd either get Huawei to complete the works and or your insurance, if you have it.
Unless you're a wizard with phones i wouldn't even attempt it.
Not sure if this pics are going to work, but I've just replaced mine.
I ordered a few lenses and they arrived today. Relatively quick post given they came from so far away! (I'd ordered the quicker postage).
The procedure is the same as most phones these days. Sticky tape over the lens and peel off to get most of the broken glass off. Heat with a heat gun for a short while so it's hot to the touch. Then very carefully pick the glass off, holding the phone sideways to it doesn't drop in the lens. I did this over some newspaper to catch the broken fragments, then rolled the paper up and threw it away as soon as the glass was removed (otherwise it gets everywhere).
I used an air duster to get rid of any fragments.
Then I stuck the supplied adhesive over the lens, and stuck the new lens on.
Quick test and everything seems to work. Focusing, clarity of pics all seems fine.
You're probably right about the waterproofing though to be honest I wouldn't trust it underwater anyway, I just think of it as more splash proof in case of an accident, and I'm sure that's still fine. The new lens seems is a good fit and seems to be attached in just the same way the old one was.

Mine just arrived today. Very good quality, the look and feel is the no less than origin.
But I doubt it's original. CE logo and some text next to Huawei logo (model ..) is not there.
I don't think I can't change it my self, I guess I'll go to a repair shop this afternoon :cyclops:
For the warranty I expect it to be voided anyway... paying ~120€ is too much (1/6 telephone price...)
Here some image
Looks good @midnightsmurf, where did you find that back panel? Makes me wonder if i could use it to swap out my one at a later date
Cool @midnightsmurf, if you could share the source, that would be great. I like the cleaner look without the CE logo much better.
I bought the rear from aliexpress . On aliexpress there are some cheaper one tho.
So the repair store's guy replaced it for me for 9€. I'm actually quite happy with the result:

How the fitting going? Sounds like a massive ballache to fix it and retain water proofing
Edit: omg just read your last post. 9 euro haha that's insane, must be quite easy then, must just be heat to remove it.
Fair play

Hi
i want to ask you
The YouTube videos teardown show that the original case comes with a flex cable for the camera, this cable is linked to a body port for camera zoom
did the case that you bought come with this cable? (i bought one on eBay but it doesn´t come the flex cable)
does you have notice any changes in the camera performance after the replacement?
Best regards
I bought a replacement (just in case... you know...) from eBay and it seems to be an original chinese part. No CE logo of course (it's not necessary there) but the model number states AL-..... and some text in chinese. I actually like it better because the CE logo is distracting - in my opinion.

The cable is linked with the sensor I think. Mine doesn't have the sensor in it. The guy who replace it for me must have used the old sensor one.
Here a picture of the broken part. And for your question, I'm not 100% sure but I didn't notice any different.
