Is there any differences between the GT-i9220 vs N7000 version ? Which one should you buy?
I am in the U.S.A and I have pre-ordered the GT-i9220 version .
I don't know.
What I did find on the Internets is confusion about this type number. Even here in the Netherlands the (real) GT-N7000 Note is listed as a i9220, obviously wrong...
Some sites say the 9220 has 4.3 inch, others say is 5.3... Some say is Gingerbread, others say its ICS...
But they all seem to agree its on 1.4ghz and 1280x720
I guess that if you order a Note i9220, you will get a Note N7000

And the i9220 is supposed to be 1280x720
My best guess its a 4.65" ICS Samsung at 1.4ghz, yet to be released.
GT-I9220 is the version that comes with ICS as standard.
Physical buttons will be removed so that you can use the on-screen ones with the S-Pen, pentile will be dropped for a true Super AMOLED Plus (which will consume less battery).
This modification will make the phone a bit smaller, reduced size on bottom.
It will come just one month after you bought the first Galaxy Note version, and for a lighter price.
In fact, I have no clue, just making up what could be a real bad joke (we've seen stuff like that before)!

But its the internets, don't believe it until you see it
(or maybe its the Note II )
I9220 was the first codename for Note. But Samsung changed it to N7000, which is currently used name.
AH, that makes more sense... If you search for WFA11897 on Google, you find posts talking about the i9220, but the wifi certificate points to N7000....

i9220 was Galaxy Note code name showed on IFA 2011. But, i9** are used for Galaxy phones and Galaxy Note was considered as subtype of the Galaxy phone at that moment. Later on, Samsung changed mind and want to show Galaxy Note as new product line so using N*** for that category now.
i think it's the chinese version of the Galaxy Note.

Guess it was one of its prototype names. I believe the codename can still be found on the phone itself, it was mentioned in the endgadget video review/overview (I think it was on the battery)

How much is it?.. is it cheaper than the hk version?
It's actually more expensive than the HK version. Almost all localized retail phones in China are more expensive due to the heavy taxing that goes on here. The MSRP for China version is 5999rmb. I was able to find a seller on taobao (chinese ebay) selling the i9220 for almost as cheap as a gray market (HK imported) N7000. 4900rmb.
So, I'm going tomorrow morning to their "office" to check it out and possibly come back with a new GT-i9220!

GT-i9220 was the name initially assigned to the note which was later changed to N7000 but it was kept as i9220 in some markets.

Hey all.
Basically i just want to hear all your thoughts on your current devices, and what you think of the next device in that product family.
My thoughts.
My first android device was the Motorola defy which really sold android for me, the fact i could treat a phone horribly by accident and it not care was a really solid selling point. The developer community for it was really quite strong too, it even receiving CM10 before my current S2.
The original transformer isn't the prettiest, lightest and fastest tablet anymore (not that it was ever lightest SO MUCH GLASS) but it was and is my first tablet and still works amazingly today. Good job Asus.
My current phone is the Samsung Galaxy S 2 which i bought outright after everyone that had one giving raving reviews and a quick view of the forum showed a very active community. Little did i know the issues the developers faced to get the aosp roms working properly, it is not pretty and it is entirely the fault of Samsung and their hardware partners (I am looking at you, yamaha). I know this and love the developers for supporting my S2 so well, especially codeworkx whom has been moving devices lately.
I love the idea of getting the S3, but i would only be going for the larger screen and if all i want is the larger screen why not go even larger and get the Note 2? Especially after its drop test video. It is a tank of a phone.
The One X+ Kind of interests me with unlocked bootloaders etc. But the fact i have to flash the kernel separately to the ROM every time (or at least that is my understanding) would really annoy me.
After the defy i would rush to a unlocked bootloader on a Motorola. That and screen size were the only issues i had with my defy.
But my current plan runs out in December which is only a few months away and i would love some ideas on devices coming into Christmas season.
Currently i am thinking Note 2, but i don't want to have half baked aosp roms because of hardware support. Ideas?
And yes doing a BYO 6 month plan with my local carrier is an option.
How bout this one?

There are some really cool devs and contributors who have written apps and scripts that enable you to flash everything all at once, kernel included.

I have the SGSIII and the One X. In the case of the One X (not the One X+ but it's basically a refresh of the One X) yes, you do have to extract and flash the boot.img via your pc using fastboot and the flash the modules via recovery...not as bad as it sounds. It's a great phone.
The SGSIII not only has a bigger screen but a higher resolution than the SGSII. There are many ROMs for it and in the case of the US variants I've flashed ROMs made for the AT&T variant on my T-Mobile one. (The international version also has great development.)

Thanks Babydoll one of my friends has the one x which i rooted/cm10ed for him the other day, it was an interesting look into HTC custom roms and i must say it is not overly difficult or anything. And i did see the scripts Tommy was talking about, they would be nice in easing the transition. How do you find the one x build quality? I heard it was hit and miss between users.

Hello,
I bough an S3 to change my OneX and i`m still not sure what i bought.
It is deffenetly from Korea, but i cannot find if it is a i9305 aside from checking the RAM and it seams to be a 2GB phone.
The recovery mode is in Korean (Vol down + middle Button + Power)... Can i change that?
Other info about the phone
Model Number: SHV-E210L (i cannot read Korean to figure out what this is, but at least it leads to the Samsung Site)
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband: E210LKLLK5/E210LKLLK7
Build Number: JZO54K.E210LKLJLL7
I`m in Europe -> Romania so i`m guessing i would be better off with a local Radio. Can you advice on one?
Also there are some weird factors:

I hope they did not scam you lol..
Xewl do a little research.. i found this
http://www.zdnet.com/localize-handset-design-content-to-be-competitive-7000006309/
It seams that in Korea the Antenna is a local consumer need
It's NOT a knockoff! It's the domestic Korean version of the Galaxy S3 ... the model number SHV-E210L is for the LG U+ provider. The antenna is included on all the Korean versions of the S3 because it is used to watch TV in Korea over the T-DMB network. Most smartphones in Korean have this antenna.
AGAIN this is NOT a knockoff but whether a domestic Korean version of the S3... and actually better than the I9305!

Not to be rude but I wouldn't necessarily say better than the I9305 as that would entirely depend on what you intend to do with it. For example, I doubt you'll get LTE reception in europe with it, nor T-DMB. And is the custom rom scene big for it?
Fun fact, turns out swedes on Tele2 can partially get LTE on the SHV-E210K (not L), our carrier uses the 900mhz band in rural areas and 2600mhz in cities (or vice versa, not completely sure).
You hit the i on the head... there is no support for the i9305... so i`m thinking of selling again..i want CM

I agree with the LTE and T-DMB and the lack of custom support as being the downsides but the reason why I say it is better than the I9305 is simply because of the long-term support from Samsung. With it you will get official updates first and for a longer time than the I9305. But the LTE bands on the Korean version are quite different...so that is a major problem.

You don't even have an I9305, there is no community support for your phone. The I9305 on the other hand, is - like I said in the other thread - basically an N7105 with a smaller screen, meaning we do have support in the sense that everything that is happening to that device will eventually be mirrored to our device.

what do you mean i don't have an i9305?! do you mean to say that i have an i9300??
I read that the 2GB versions of the i9300 are i9305 according to GSM Arena for ex.
Could you clarify?! does this mean i can flash CM?
No, neither, you said yourself that you have an SHV-E210L... This is a phone designed for the Korean market.
It's similar to the I9305 in that it has an exynos 4412 processor, 2gb ram and LTE (note: modem will likely be different). But the board will be wired differently, if you are interested in CyanogenMod I would definitely sell it.
oh so it has an entirely different code.
So i can't even flash i9305 ROMs, right?
nothing.. it is rooted already but i did not flash any recovery
You can use this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alxdroiddev.gs3identity
to detect if the phone is a fake or not. This app will tell you.
it's legit.. but from the looks of it ... i won't be able to flash anything on this ... since there is no way of knowing if it will stick or brick my phone :|

I'd assume that any of these should work with the black irig HD as well:
https://www.google.com/search?site=&tbm=isch&source=hp&q=otg+adapter
At least they say so on the website for their iOS version of irig HD:
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irighd/index.php?pp=irig-hd-specs
"Compatible with any Android devices with USB (OTG) connector running Android 5 (coming soon). "
It seems like it wont be just for the Note 4 and Note Edge. I dont understand wall this publicity to Samasung when they clearly say in their website that every Android device with USB OTG and Android Lollipop will get it x)
sir ikmultimedia i dont know anything about amplitube but a friend is asking if the note 4 will be able to use the full screen of the controls (thats how he described it to me) like the one in his ipad. Thanks sir.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ikmultimediaus.android.amplitubese

AmpliTube is compatible with Android devices that support Samsung Professional Audio technology, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 require Android 5 Lollipop.

You can buy a standard OTG cable and use the USB connection you already have with your iRig HD.
We also have more news on this front released today: We are definitely going to expand to other devices as more start to support Samsung Professional Audio but we also will be showing (and you can try it if you are there) near-zero latency Android audio for devices using Android 4.0 and above (so not even requiring Lollipop!). We announced this today on our site. I would post a link but I need more posts first

You should never show your Imei online but it looks like a bad box but the firmware seems legit. But then again those Chinese are good!
Looks like a clone to me. The sticker under the battery and the Chinese letters in the recovery are dead giveaways.
It says on the box that its not real Note 4.
Note4 is SM-910
This is SM-9100 !
Judging by these pics and my good eyes and experience with chinese clones, thats a genuine Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910F, but the package is a generic one. The phone seems to have some manufacture fault or its bad refurbished: reason of why it doesn't have S/N. a proper description of your problem would be nice for us since I can't understand what problems are you having now other than missing S/N or a chinese recovery. You even have signal and mobile data connection... i thought (by the title, before reading the article) that your phone had missing parts ("mutilated").

the android firmware info shows the european firmware on it. probably someone took the piss cheap note 4 china variant and flashed european firmware on it to sell it to you
The phone in the picture is a N910F as it shows on the sticker under battery, phone looks legit and the screen looks like AMOLED.
The phone in the picture is not dual-sim, but the box is for N9100 aka Note 4 Duos (dual-sim) which i think is the only NOTE 4 version with 16gb internal.
Run some benchmarking tests and posts the results here. If is legit, you can go ahead and download and flash the latest N910F ROM and flash it through odin. This should get rid of all the Chinese words in recovery.

Why does it say it's 1800mAh battery? Isn't Note 4 supposed to have a 3220mAh one?

That's not 1800 mAh, it's 1800 mA charging current.
Does the box say its 16gb??
It seems to be very legitimate for me.... try to find the new rom for the n910f and put it through odin
I have returned this device a long time ago, after I posted the pics... can't you all see the scratches on the bezel? It has clearly been "tampered" with... and the box does not correspond to the actual item inside. That is my point. I am not saying it is FAKE. I have given a review on the seller on amazon to beware of the particular seller, and amazon somehow deleted it. They are protecting the seller, not the buyers...
edit:
Yes the phone connects to H+, but not on LTE even when I'm outside...
I like touchwiz, i like its look, i like to do some modifications on it
i hate it because it isnt open source. i hate it because it is made by samsung. I hate samsung because they dont give a fck for their customers who Spent a lot of money to buy their high end device
If u dont understand what kind of bull**** i am talking about look at this post at sammobile

Tab S MM User manual spottet
I still do not accept that as the final answer. I won't accept it until the end of September or Samsung says it themselves and not some Facebook branch off.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Samsung announcement about the devices they are not going to update.
Samsung will not update the Galaxy S7 to Nougat as well:

Ha.
Joke aside I'm not surprised by this, Sammobile said the Tab S would received MM no later than early August and we are already approaching September.

SamMobile didn't say we WOULD get it in August. They stated they believe it was most likely. I'm not really holding my breath for the update anymore, but I'm also not giving up entirely until September has come and gone.

well as expected from samsung we wont be getting MM .
what a bad news
Well I think we need to look at porting more roms to this device rather than just sitting on our hands.....I know that we have some very smart member here now lit the porting games begin........
Dang...I just bought a Tab S too... Why does it say "first generation Tab S's"? I thought there was only one generation. If not, could someone list which models are old and which are new. I have a SM-T707A
I am not going to lose my sleep over this. I use my Tab S as a portable TV screen, and for that purpose it works just fine, even with Lollipop. It has the latest versions of Fox, NBC, AMC, HBO, Netfix, Uverse, Youtube, as well as some other streaming apps. It runs the MX Player which plays pretty much any video format.

I believe they mean the Tab S is the first generation, the S2 is the second generation, etc.

Posted this in the "Android M not coming to Tab S" thread too, but I just got this from Samsung Live Chat.

Sorry for any offence please don't take it that way that is a bit vague of answer from Samsung chat plus it says all products which is not correct

That's true, but it also isn't outright claiming we're not getting it. I took it as all Tab S products since that's the device we were talking about.

That's why I'm not giving up on my small sliver of hope until September has come and gone. Once that happens; we'll have our official answer.
