Hi,
My wifes O2X is running vanilla V10d and durring startup config I selected Danish (Denmark) but the keyboard has no special danish carecters (æøå). I went through the menus but I couldn't find anything wrong/missing.
How do I get my special danish carecters on the LG stanard keybord (I don't wanna root or install another keyboard)?
Thanks..

You don't, they're simply not there. If you don't want to install another keyboard, as you say, you have to wait for the GB update, which has localized keyboards for Scandinavia.
(I assume you are aware you can long-press keys to get ØÆÅ.)

Hi Mate,
Try this. Install to device memory, and you will have English and Russian on-screen keyboard.
Hope this helps.

Be careful, this .cab does not list under "Remove Programs". Also, this removed letter/block recognizer options from the SIP.

It IS listed under Remove Programs as KD Ruskey. If you remove it it will restore the original SIP settings.
It does not remove letter/block recognizer.

I am trying to retain the arabic keyboard layout from the original ROM because I waited long time to buy the arabic device. Then when we started the upgrading, it's all gone.
I found accidently the following cab file in the windows folder of the original WM6.1 ROM. So I figured if I install it on WM6.5 customs roms it will re-enable the arabic keyboard, or so I thought.
Anyone can offer help on how to have the arabic keyboard working and see whether this file is of real use or not? thanks.
Samer.
can you find "Bulgarian Phonetic" keyboard layout ?
10x
ok, so no one can answer, let me now rephrase the question maybe it becomes simpler.
If you have an official NBH for your TP2 device which comes defenetly with special files and settings to activate non-english characters (in my case arabic), how can I find these files and settings and extract them from the NBH file?

Thank you for your concern. This discussion is about remapping the main keys to a different language. What I am looking for are the suplemtnatry keys which are activated after pressing the mail key as it has a symbol of switch language.
So in other words, I have 2 languages on my keyboard, english and arabic, and there is a key that changes the complete keyboard to arabic or vice versa dynamically.
I am hoping to find a solution for that
hey everyone
Does anyone know where I can find the following keyboard which is works with Arabic letters for diamond2 or WVGA screens
here is some picture for it... I hope that someone can help
Solution:
Download and install the attached CAB.
tested on the Touch Diamond 2 Stock ROM
That appears to be the default keyboard.
Yes, it seems it is, try changing the language to your keyboard, when you open the keyboard, you will see an small arrow on the right of it icon (taskbar) press it and try to change the language to your desired.

yea man its the original one but there is no Arabic language in the list your talking about ??
so what i have to do if know plz let me know
This file name could help you out
You need the following file
Enable_Ar_EzInput_xxx.cab
the x's are for the version numbers. Once you install it you will get Arabic in the List of Available language. Be warned, this cab keeps the English keyboard layout and adds the Arabic keyboard layout, the remaining languages are removed for some reason.
On my device I only have English and Arabic in the list of languages after using it (I am using WWE version of official and cooked roms). For non WWE roms I don't know what it does to the list of available languages.
Just attached the cab file. I don't know if there is any newer version of it.

Hello,
This morning I received the update (in Finland) for my unbranded Samsung Galaxy S (GT-i9000) from 2.1 to Froyo 2.2
Before the update, my Swype application is pre-installed by Samsung and it was version 3.x (I can't remember the exact version).
After the update to Froyo, the pre-installed Swype version is now 2.6.x, and it has less languages than before, including Spanish (my mother tongue, and the language I typically use)
I have written an email to my GSM provider, to Samsung and to SwypeInc, but nobody replies. I have tried to find Swype 3.9 (the latest version, I think) from the Internet without any result. Actually, I only miss the Spanish dictionary.
Does anyone have any idea? Is this happening to you also?
I am looking forward to hear your replies,
P.S.- I found Swype 3.9.x as a CAB file, and followed the instructions, but it won't install because my phone cannot open the CAB file.

The reason it won't open a .cab file is because they are for Windows Mobile.
I have 2.1 :-(
Swype 2.1 here too with the new 2.2 oficial update :/
Are u sure u had version 3.x?? coz mine is ver. 1.60 on eclair JM2..
and i think samsung using different languages on different regions to save space..
thats why u dont have spanish swype on finland firmware.. i guess
Hello,
Actually you are right. I had Swype version 1.6 on JM2. I was confused after reading many forums for Windows Mobile.
So, the situation is now this one: I had Swype 1.6 with many languages (including Spanish). Now, with Froyo, I have Swype 2.6.47.11856, which doesn't have Spanish.
I cannot find a way to add Spanish to the new Swype. In fact, I searched for the Swype 2.6.47.11856 APK and I tried to install it on my phone, but after installing the phone says: "Application not installed.".
So, to sum up, I have the newest Swype version for Android, but I don't have Spanish anymore, and I can't overwrite the built-in Swype on my phone. Am I screwed?
If you have Swype 2.6.47.11856, could anyone please tell me if you have Spanish language available for input?
Thank you in advance,
--Claudio

Spanish is included in the Swype that is shipped with JPO, the central european version (2.1.41.10155). The scandinavian versions don't have it.
As i said.. different regions = different languages
Thanks for the reply anyways. I am just so confused, because I bought the phone here in Finland, and it came with Spanish Swype (and many more languages). Now I updated in Finland as well, and there is no Spanish Swype. But I have vietnamise, korean, romanian and stuff like that..
Is it possible to install a Swype dictionary manually?
Why not upgrade again to the European version of the firmware, and automatically get the version that has Spanish? You will need to downgrade Kies to ....93 or earlier, then regedit kies version to latest to stop it pestering you to upgrade, then with the old version you can regedit the phone version to one that gets the European upgrade. It is all described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9043729&postcount=74
I can confirm, I used the registry hack to get the generic "European Countries" update by setting ProductCode="GT-I9000HKDXEU" and Swype has got spanish.
But I need romanian and it's not there Does anybody know which ProductCode should I use to get the romanian language in Swype?

AFAIK they should be in the secondary kb, the one with the symbols, if you installed the correct dictionnaries and set the svenske keyboard as standard input... that"s where i find the belgian accents etc on the french keyboard anyway
If not, sorry, can't help more or better ... good luck then
I have the same problem. This has something to do with the CSC files as far as I have understood. Unfortunately I cannot find the correct CSC file for my language.
I would gladly return to stock if my external keyboard would work. I have tried to find a way to extract a CSC file from a friends unit, but that work has not lead to any results.
There are several ROMS that have swedish supported, aren't there? I have found ROMS that support both danish and swedish but not norwegian, as I require.
Starting to go on my nerves.
