Trying to flash Cyanogenmod, got stuck in recovery - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have stock N1 on 2.3.6, just unlocked the bootloader and now I'm trying to load a custom recovery image so I can put Cyanogenmod on there, but it won't go into clockwork mod. I can't get root either. Is there anyway to flash it?

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Nexus_One:_Full_Update_Guide

I went with Amon_Ra's Recovery instead of ClockworkMod Recovery and finally it worked.

Is it reverting to the custom recovery?
Edit: Ok glad you were able to solve it sorry i didnt read the other post!

Clockworkmod recovery not booting after a full system boot

Can anyone give me a explanation why after installing rom manager and the clockworkmod recovery i can imediatly boot into recovery, but after doing a normal system boot and try again do boot into recovery (through rom manager or even manualy pressing power + vol down) i can´t??? It stops at a black screen with a white exclamation triangle and a android icon. If i go through flashing the recovery again (in rom manager) and after that i press "reboot into recovery" it works well. But thats the only time i can. Meannig: i have to flash the clockworkmod recovery every time i want to go there. Is this normal? Is it rom manager? clockworkmod recovery? or the Android OS? I´m on a rooted Nexus with a unlock bootloader (androidroot) running stock froyo. What can i do to make the clockworkmod recovery stick?
I´m a newby in flashing roms, and i would love to try a modified rom. But for that to happen i need to have full trust in the apps i´m using to do that. Until now i can´t say that i feel confident to go through with the flashing process. Any help would be much apreciated.

I also have the same problem with AmonRA Recovery. After a long search for the answer thru google search, I found out that Custom Recovery won't stick with the Stock ROM. You need to flash your N1 with a custom ROM then only the Custom recovery will work. If you do a nandroid restore back to the stock rom, the custom recovery will disappear again. You need to reflash the custom recovery again to get you back to the custom recovery screen for flashing custom ROM.
Thank you for the quick answer

same problem with stock frg83
thank you taksei
EDIT: found how to disable:
mv /system/recovery-from-boot.p /system/recovery-from-boot.p.bak
mv /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh.bak

If you would read the recovery installation instructions in Wiki, you'd notice the instructions for removal of those 2 files, that rewrite the recovery on system boot.

Help Flashing Custom Recovery on G1

Hi am a newbie here.i have read many guides here and form cyanogen and addictivetips on flashing custom recovery image on T-Mobile G1,DMD64,Donut..i have tried ROM Manager,Fastboot and ADB but still i get errors.what can i do ?
is your phone rooted? what errors?
Well first you need root. I was lazy and used this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598) app to get root. Then I followed the CyanogenMod wiki (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/) to get the Recovery, Radio, SPL, then ROM flashed and now I'm running CM 6.1.

Did you remember to flash the defanged base on the cyanogenmod wiki? I forgot to do that the first time I rooted and my recovery got reverted back to stock.

Recovery + OS Boot loop!

Edit: the problem is fixed. Thanks IRC.
I was trying to flash ginger bread aosp and some one told me I needed clockwork recovery. I tried pushing it through adb but it failed and wouldnt let me into recovery. I could still get into the OS at this point, so I downloaded the clockwork app and was able to flash clockwork recovery. I did that and rebooted and tried to flash ginger bread. It didnt work so I couldnt get into the OS, it boot looped at the htc splash. While in recovery I tried to push the new clockwork recovery and it failed.
So now it gets the htc splash on both the recovery and booting hte os, and then it reboots.
Im trying on the irc now, but every seems to be afk.
You might need to RUU, reroot and then the recovery/ROM.
