n00b question
what positive things does this update bring to us using CM7.1?
in my experience (I had a moto milestone), the official update to 2.2 was worse than custom roms, heck, we even run GB... so I didn't even bother updating to it.
I hope this time is for real.

Presumably it will help rom devs fix some of the broken aspects
Also can run phone on a non custom rom now which some will like.

What is the difference between v10e and v20e..?
Don't get it in my official updates
Using stock Rom
Firmware v10e

One if a froyo based rom and the other is a gingerbread leaked rom.
Biggest difference is in battery life and speed
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I think there wasn't any difference at all. I ran V20e for some reason when I got mine and for some crazy idea that I want to test 'if LG really sucks at software' notion I tried to update, I went back to V10e running at 2.2.2
Very bad mistake

i disagrre with u bro..its very difference between 10e and 20e, 10e for froyo n 20e for gingerbread.all system between those versions is very different too
There are a few differences.
1. 10E is official 20E is a leaked rom.
2. 10E is Froyo 20E is Gingerbread.
3. As stated in 1. the only one actually supported by LG is 10E so flashing 20E will remove your warranty.
Of course there are more differences then these but then a normal Gingerbread vs Froyo thread will serve for that purpose.

Yeah I know, what I meant was there was no difference with performance. I mean yeah V10e is froyo and V20e is GB so its really a huge difference on system but on the performance, not so much. Sorry if that made a misconception or something.

No, flashing custom rom on your LG phone doesn't void your warranty. This was stated directly by LG Italy.
Yes i can confirm it me too.
Custom Roms don't touch the warranty.only if you brick or damage your phone installing a custom will be customer fault.
But if you have an hardware problem and you have a custom Rom you're ok.

Okey, I wrote supported by LG first. But okey.. Maybe Italy is different from the rest of the world. And its free to flash and still keep your warranty's intact. But if they by any means find any reason to why your flashing is the fault for breaking the device you will be the one paying the repairs. And normally they do "find" stuff like that. I my self ended up paying the repairs on a laptop because it was linux on it and not vista. (And here you think your free to install whatever OS you want on a pc.)
PS local agreements may vary to make sure contact your local LG office.

If you scrool down the page it says.
For canada at least.
So it may only be in Canada.
Yeah but that's stupid, why in Europe, Asia but not in North America ?
Anyway, if this is the case, Canadians users will always be able to run ICS by custom ROMs, let's hope...

Enough with these threads!! There is an ICS speculation thread, USE IT!
First of all i bought my first Android phone about 10 days ago, so I'm new to this world. I want to update my P880 to jelly bean, but I'm too paranoid to use root. The update should be out by now, so my question is: is it really out, and if it is can i update my phone directly without my pc suite? Also, i want to Know if there is a way to flash a rooted phone to the original version?

You don't need root to flash.
You can re-flash your original room.
Read more about root, battery drain and how to flash.
There are several methods, choose the best depending on your needs.
Be sure that you know what you're doing before you start.

Nope, the official release isn't here yet. And yes, you don't need your PC to update your phone providing that you have decent Internet connection. You can always go OTA, it's available right in your phone setting.
As of flashing a rooted phone, you can actually unroot it, without the hassle of reflashing your phone . There's a feature in the app for you to do so.
Anyway, you don't need to root your device to get JB, just download the kdz and flash it with kdz updater. The walk through is in general thread. A word of caution though, rolling back to ICS might be quite a task.
Btw, what regional rom are you on now?

Wrong, go back to ICS is easier as any other flash. The difference is that needs to be done with LGFlash Tool. Takes about 5 minutes, less than with kdz.

you're probably on south-east asia, the dealers from serbia & bosnia seem to be getting the phones from the same place, as i had 10e aswell.

Well, only God and LG know when it'll be released.
You might want to check your phone software version in phone setting then go to this website http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15 to see if your room is the latest

There are rumors of course, but don't tink we will get more uptades anytime soon. It is a 2011 plone, not that suprising.
May be an update in 2014 after the s3 and note2 gets 4.4! maybe!
I wouldn't expect it from Samsung. They have launched dozens of other phone models since they released Note 1, and from the lack of quality on 4.1 update, even if they release a 4.2 update, it would be better to stick to something else
