Dirk, what did you get?
At school we did a test to find out if you were left or right brain dominant.
Most people had a difference of 2 or 3, I was 13 points more left brain dominant.

I just re-ran the test to see if my score now is anything like what it was as i remember it being a year ago. It was 1 point different.
To be fair, knowing what the test is about introduces all sorts of bias and error, and any good scientist would write it off in an instant as being completely unscientific. The nature of the questions could leave the subject answering in a way that produces a desired result.
For example i could set a test titled 'Are you a Psychopath?'
Q1) Somebody steals your sandwich from the staff canteen. Do you:
A) Find out who it was and explain to them why you are upset.
B) Find out who it was and plot your revenge.
C) Batter them around the head with a staple gun until they are unconscious.
It does rely upon the subject being as honest as possible with the answers and hopefully not skewing the results too much.
Anyway, more results before i give it up...!

That's actually very insightful. And the reason i didn't mention that the A in AQ stands for Autism, and the reason i mentioned OCD instead, was in the hope that people would take the test without having pre-conceived notions about what the answers 'should' be. Basically, my way to make the test a little more scientific.
i.e 'OCD' answers would be different to 'Autistic' answers, although they may share a lot of the same, underlying pathology.

Well... point is, I came in not long before PDL left (the other time) and between then and now, we've had some serious gaffes. So, we do kinda deserve it.

You can receive, although if you receive so much for a certian period of time, they may lock your Paypal and investigate, I've seen some threads on it, they'll give you no warning either, So be careful

In pain and need serious opinions
I have a serious question:
How the hell can i make my neck feel better?
Everytime i turn it to the left i fell like someone is squeezing the muscle in it really really hard and makes me cringe in pain!
Ive Tried;
1. Ice Pack (which only made it worse)
2. Hot shower on it: helped for 2 min
3. Hot towel (Helped 2 min)
4. 800mg ubprofen (didnt do crap)
5. Weird push the pressure excercise i found on google (Didnt do jack)
Any suggestions would be appreciative.

Ok. Try taking a muscle relaxer (like doans pills) also continue with the hot towels and ibuprofen will only help after you also take the muscle relaxers...Don't mix however

If needed take ibuprofen only 12 hours after muscle relaxers DON'T MIX IBUPROFEN AND MUSCLE RELAXERS!!

You should be able to find them near the pain medicine
(or ask the pharmacist)
I wouldn't drink with them (or very little) they can make you very tired. They are not that expensive depending on where you are I would say less than ten dollars (us dollars) They are called (brand name) Doan's. Hope this helps you.

Also, there is topical ( on the skin) muscle relaxants that do a lot to help muscle pain. I can't think of a brand name at the moment, but these often work better than the pill form for sharp pains, as you can relax the specific area.
Definitely don't try the pill form with alcohol, they really don't mix well.
Okay so people have been telling me that I'm awkward because in my advisory class I rarely talk.....I call it shyness they call it awkwardness.
Also when I like someone I freeze and get awkward ....how can I change that?

I was the same! Tried to keep work and personal life separate. Was very shy wouldn't go to work functions etc would make up excuses. I was between 18-20 and guess i hadn't really grown up.was scared to accept that i wanted those work colleagues as friends but it was line i was crossing. Plus it got really hard when i fancied a girl at work but just froze and couldn't pluck up courage to ask her out.
Now im well confident...and married but love going out and just socializing. If only i had my confidence now back then!

Well as much as I find it offensively overused and therefore raped of its true sentiment, it is good advice. Forget what you've come here to ask and remember that sometimes things are just what they are and you can't always "fix" everything. Also, just because you perceive things one way doesn't mean other people do. For all you know there could be some hot girl sat across the room from you thinking "He's not like the other guys, and I like that". Be yourself and learn to be happy about who you are, rather than trying to change it.
I've always been a quiet, shy kind of person, but as I've grown and become happier with it it's turned from shyness into a character trait that people know me for and respect. I've become the "strong silent type".

That is so cool! I actually did scour the internetz for a decent detective silhouette to use as an avatar but didn't find one i liked. If you'd read the books you'd see how hard it is to find something relevant, an avatar to match the name.

None taken. In fact i completely agree, although the aforementioned curvaciousness shouldn't only apply to females. I mean, i'm as guilty as the next guy for objectifying people on the basis of their appearance, but it's not every day that you see a fellow forumite like Milad in the flesh.. and i'm sure you'll agree that it's understandable if one finds themselves carried away in the moment.
After all, knowing Milad as i do, it's safe to say that he's not all about the pleasing aesthetics... Ok, he may be somewhat a good looking fella in his own right, (and tbh that whole outfit is really doing it for me), but he also has a great mind behind the facade, and it's a little shallow of people to judge him on his stunning good looks alone. Have a heart, the man has personality and character too you know?

Sometimes ones opinion about oneself sucks, i always though of myself as a not very good looking guy, but when i go out a fair number of girls find me attractive
But when i see myself in the mirror i think, sheet! How am i allowed to go out the streets
But if you are good looking then... You suck for being embarrased for no reason

It's true! Every mirror i've ever looked in has cracked for some reason. I guess i should stop punching them! Seriously though, anyone who thinks they can do better than SB or Milad should post a pic of themselves...if they dare!
Personally, i'd rather get by judging people on who they are rather than how they look tbh. The internet is full of hot 'looking' people, but xda is full of hot 'real' people.

When taking photos with flash I found under my tungsten light source that everything had a blue tint to it.

This I found results from the phone incorrectly detecting the white balance.
It is easily fixed by pressing the picture button and holding it while your phone focuses and measures the shot. Then a second later release it and the results are a marked difference.
To those using any camera with a half and full press button this isn't a large surprise but with the trend to simple tap on smartphones I find this easily overlooked.

When taking photos with flash I found under my tungsten light source that everything had a blue tint to it.

This I found results from the phone incorrectly detecting the white balance.
It is easily fixed by pressing the picture button and holding it while your phone focuses and measures the shot. Then a second later release it and the results are a marked difference.

To those using any camera with a half and full press button this isn't a large surprise but with the trend to simple tap on smartphones I find this easily overlooked.

First of cute dog, and this is news to me just got a N4 loving it. Also, what kinda pit is that? He looks adorable I have a mastiff/american pit mix, but bigger testies lol.

He's a street dog. Someone found him as a pup in the rain and put him online. He's pretty mixed as a breed but has some hound in him. And much smaller than a mastiff :cyclops:
I didnt know about the hold focus either. I felt it wasnt obvious because the N4 unlike htc's and iphones doesnt do an instant photo. it does the shenanigan of focusing with the ring and all the jazz so one would assume it would measure its white balance then. Anyway you live and you learn

Oh just like the video says I am a total noob when it comes to android phones. I have always had iPhones from the first one to 5, and after it broke I thought I mix it up and got a lumia 920 (terrible experience I had no clue what I was doing) and that bought the Nexus 4. I got to say there is a whole lot of little tricks such as this which is great, so thanks again for posting.

Welcome to the droid community. Once you get sucked in its hard to go back. I try using the i5 now and then. The lack of a back button and my app settings within a separate settings app really bug me.

on white version the speaker phone is white on the front making it look stupid black then white there
4.4 kitkat is all google now 3 ways to access it (really) why so many irritating
first impressions is if you have it keep it, if your on the edge i would go with another phone tbh the s4 or something bit dissapointed 70 quid more then my last year nexus and not worth the warrant of the increase

The battery should improve after a few more cycles, so give it some time. Others have reported good initial battery performance, which is interesting.
Early shots taken with the N5 looked really sharp and fairly comparable to the iPhone 5s. Can you elaborate where it fell short of expectations?
If the back plastic is anything like the N7, I think the feel of it is really nice and comfortable. Frankly it's a probably a better choice than having a glass back and is also part of the reason why it's so light. I don't mind this =)

How people test out battery life early on is beyond me....
It takes a full week for battery to adjust in my experience (and many times it gets WAY better in that week span).
With a review like this you should have just piggy backed off of someone elses thread.
I really hope the battery isn't terrible since coming from my Note 2 I got spoiled.

We're not ribbing on the OP because we disagree with him.
We're just giving him **** because we're sick and tired of seeing stupid posts like these on the forums.
This is also not a matter of elitism or ganging up on newer members.
Anybody can write a generic, two-bit review like this one.
If you're going to post a review, have some substance and be scientific about it.
Tell us what you did on your device, what apps you have on. Don't just write oh battery sucks.
Most people just have the common courtesy to keep it in an existing thread so we don't have to see a hundred of these type of these "new posts" everyday.
The next thing you know, somebody is going to write oh the nexus 5 has such **** terrible voice quality - oh I forgot to mention I called from a dead zone in the middle of nowhere.

My review for the day one:
Positives:
-great design and shape
-screen and natural colours
-love the white "plastic" material, rather feels like ceramic tile of some sort, not plastic. great build
-speedy and responsive
Negatives:
-battery is main concern, didnt last me from 9 am to 6pm with moderate usage
-slow charging
-kitkat lacking in features and settings
-context menu missing on some apps
-3 main screen buttons (on the bottom of the screen) still taking valuable space
Will give it a go a bit longer, not making any rush decisions
