This guy isn't a real journalist thankfully. He's a Grade-A dumbass though, stating flat out that the 'iPad Mini' is coming out in October. He has no credibility and this poorly-written article reflects that. Guess that's why he's stuck writing **** for examiner.

His "review" is basically the exact opposite of what literally everyone else is saying.
Where do they find their writers?

The Nexus 7 includes a 1.2MP front-facing camera. However, there is one main issue—there are currently no apps to take advantage of the camera.
Whaaaat? Did something happen to Hangouts, Google Talk Video Chat, Skype, and every other video chat app? And the plain old camera app can use the front camera can't it? Face unlock.......

How are these people allowed to write such "drivel" (could use more colourful language but i'd be banned)....the nexus 7 specs outperform 90% of android tablets out there yet this imbecile is saying "if people did 10 minutes of homework they'd find the samsung galaxy tab 7 is better"......wow.
Not to mention in his first 3 lines he says "Google's new tablet has a less than spectacular screen, a clunky operating system and a lack of storage options" unless your fingers are concrete without any feeling of how to use an operating system then maybe, otherwise the rest of your review is doomed

iPAD mini??? there's only rumors and not an announcement unless you suddenly became a spokesperson for Apple, that said you wouldn't be reviewing this tablet and we wouldn't have to read your jibberish you looney

The examiner is pretty much worthless because most of their writers are hired online with very little vetting and (if I remember correctly, but I'm not 100% sure) they get paid per view. I have a friend who writes for them (political articles). Nice person, but she majored in music education and can't write a cohesive sentence to save her life.

It's a shame there's no comment section for feedback on that dude. Awful writing, terrible bias, and a clear lack of understanding of how to operate an Android tablet.
Bottom line, there's a reason Apple puts a wall around their garden... not only to keep the outside world out, but to keep their fanbois in. He'll be much better off feeling happy when Apple tells him to.

I'm not selling a phone or a tablet or anything like that. I'm just wondering: If I started making a bunch of these, would there be a market? I made them for my girlfriend for various holidays (I made her the Jellybean one for Valentine's Day, actually) and I'm wondering if I should start making more and selling them.
I have no where else that I can think of to ask this. If it is indeed wrong to post here, feel free to post various spiderman memes and such.

What are these made of? If they are of something durable, then I would definitely them.

The little jelly bean one is kinda cool. little rough around the edges though. clean it up a bit, and i'll buy one.

As TheSkinnyDrummer said, it needs a bit of cleaning up. If that's done and has a great polish to it, it'll sell well. My friends and I are at a constant search for Android themed items

They are, indeed, made from Shrink Plastic. They're pretty durable, coated on the front with a thick layer of plastic and on the back with an acrylic spray. I can't really see one getting broken, unless you were really trying intention.
And yeah, these were a little rough around the edges because I made them quickly, the night before I was supposed to give them to her. Not the best planner. The one's that I'd sell would be much neater.
What would you guys be willing to pay? $5-7? More, less?

I'd be willing to pay a couple bucks. But it always seems that things like this that are small and cool are much more than that.

May we see some more pics from the sides.. It looks pretty cool

[TIP] Better colour with flash photos.

Hey all, this isn't a mind blowing tip, it's just something easily overlooked. Forgive me if it's been covered but i could not find it.
When taking photos with flash I found under my tungsten light source that everything had a blue tint to it.

This I found results from the phone incorrectly detecting the white balance.
It is easily fixed by pressing the picture button and holding it while your phone focuses and measures the shot. Then a second later release it and the results are a marked difference.
To those using any camera with a half and full press button this isn't a large surprise but with the trend to simple tap on smartphones I find this easily overlooked.

First of cute dog, and this is news to me just got a N4 loving it. Also, what kinda pit is that? He looks adorable I have a mastiff/american pit mix, but bigger testies lol.

He's a street dog. Someone found him as a pup in the rain and put him online. He's pretty mixed as a breed but has some hound in him. And much smaller than a mastiff :cyclops:
I didnt know about the hold focus either. I felt it wasnt obvious because the N4 unlike htc's and iphones doesnt do an instant photo. it does the shenanigan of focusing with the ring and all the jazz so one would assume it would measure its white balance then. Anyway you live and you learn

Oh just like the video says I am a total noob when it comes to android phones. I have always had iPhones from the first one to 5, and after it broke I thought I mix it up and got a lumia 920 (terrible experience I had no clue what I was doing) and that bought the Nexus 4. I got to say there is a whole lot of little tricks such as this which is great, so thanks again for posting.

Welcome to the droid community. Once you get sucked in its hard to go back. I try using the i5 now and then. The lack of a back button and my app settings within a separate settings app really bug me.

GS4 owner just got a Nexus 5, and its great

The Nexus 5 looks big in pictures but is actually smaller than my galaxy s4 with a very thin case on the G4. And the Nexus doesn't need a case because the back is is rubbery and grippy, beautiful! Also, it feels absolutely premium in terms of build quality and materials.
The screen is brilliant, bar none the best I've ever seen. And better than my iPhone 5.
The camera shutter sound is very subtle, in fact I'll keep it on
The navigation keys are a lot closer so it's a lot easier to use one handed.
Speaker phone is awesome: loud and clear.
Needless to say the phone overall is as fast as all hell.
Nexus 5 screen is vastly easier to read in direct sunlight
Where does the Galaxy s4 beat the Nexus? So far all I've found is the speaker volume, which seems to be a little low when playing videos. That and the replaceable battery and memory card slot.
Its my first day with the Nexus 5, and so far, so good.
Just thought I'd give a little feedback for those of you who are on the fence about switching. I have both at the moment, but my S4 may soon be on Craigslist.

I've only taken a hand full of photos, but so far the camera looks very good. Plenty of detail and great white balance.

I've been considering switching as well - but there's a few things that keep me on the fence. The S4 has AMOLED (which I prefer to IPS, but subjective) and removable battery/microsd. And the battery is larger on the S4.
But as the other user asked, how is the camera? Apparently it's not as good due to flawed software, but there IS image stabilization. Hmm...

When you put the Nexus 5 next to the galaxy s4 with both at full brightness , the Galaxy looks muted, fuzzy, dim. Take your phone to a Best Buy or Sprint store and have a look for yourself.

Was thinking about switching myself, but I've heard mixed things about the camera. I'd have to test it myself in person before I could make a decision

I used to get all anal about about the cameras too until I realize that all I ever use the snaps for is Facebook. I have real cameras for when I get serious.

meh...I was really into the phone at first and was considering selling my S4, but after reading a bunch of reviews and people's opinions on it...it seems meh and I'll just stick with the S4 for now. The saturation is a bit over the top at default settings, but otherwise they look good to me.

I was thinking of selling my S4 for the nexus..until I seen a smaller battery. Specs mean nothing if it doesn't turn on.

Time will tell about the battery life. Some have said it's so so, and others have said it last for days between charges.

I might get the nexus. But with the wobbly buttons. Non removable battery and no Sim slot. Plus dead pixels and light leakage among other problems that's kind of scary for a phone that's just been release

Galaxy S5 Leaked ahead of launch[FULL DEVICE LEAK]

Galaxy S5 has leaked today, a few hours from the UNPACKED event. This will give you an idea of what to expect at the event today.
Not much has changed from S4 in terms of design though, which is a disappointment. And it still looks like it's made out of some type of plastic and not even faux leather!
The UI is a little bit different and is much flatter.
The camera is 16MP. It is yet to be seen if it's the ISOCELL tech. Also, UHD recording is present.
According to calculations done by somebody, the battery is 2800 MAh, and it looks just the same as the one on the Galaxy Round.
There is also a Fingerprint scanner on-board, possibly only a Swipe type which is located on the home button.
Menu key has been replaced with multitask key and there is a weird sensor near the camera flash (iris scanner probably). EDIT: It is a Heart Rate Monitor

It is disappointing to me too. I expected a radically changed design this time around.
It looks worse than Hyperglaze or Faux leather. And the white one looks like Styrofoam.
But maybe there will be a premium "Prime" version too. There are leaks about such a possibility.

They seem to be just throwing in a good SoC, Camera, display and bloatware and not bothering about the build quality!

I stuck with my phone (iPhone 4) since 2010. I really want a new device an I'm waiting for every press event from Samsung, Sony, Apple and others. But the leaked pictures are very disappointing. Again...

My preference is for the Note 3

That design team needs to be fired ASAP. I hope the press this time criticizes negatively Samsung with no mercy.

Samsung need to hire that Duarte guy from Google. His designs using budget material and costs are amazing. With Samsung's pockets and resources he could design something that would beat an iPhone or HTC in beauty and also have personality, while starting a new design language for future samsung devices.

this is a question that will never be answered. Some car designs for example are absolutely awful - who comes up with the designs and the fact they actually get mass produced is beyond me.
