Currently have a KFHD in my possession and have red bricked it after using fireflash. I have followed the instructions here, however i'm getting "error: device not found" on the second step. the kindle goes into fastboot mode when I insert the cable and then I run the command (as it is found by windows) and get that.
Any quick help is appreciated
edit: more info. My device boots up with the fastboot logo, however nothing happens.
edit: I got it to work. I used option 3, Restore-factory settings, instead of option 2.
Hello to everybody, I'm new to this forum. thanks foe the useful informations I've been abler to gather on this website.
Yesterday arrived the fastboot cable I ordered.Pluggin it it it turned the kindle to fastboot mode.
Fastboot on my pc recognised the devide in cmd window.
After a couple of fastboot instructions attempting to reload bootloader and TWRP recovery without success, the kindle started to plug and unplug itself every second.
on the screen either if you use a normal usb calbe or the fastboot cable it appears the kindle logo, then the fastboot logo for 1 second then everything desappear and with the black screen starts endelessy to plug and unplug.
It seems fastboot doesn't find any device whine on program amanger it is correclty recognised by the system.
Any help would be very appreceated.
Thanks in advance, Stef
Just unplug the fast boot cable while the screen is black also could you pm me a video of your predicament? That could help
After installing the "15 seconds adb installer", I shift clicked the folder with my twrp file, "twrp-3.0.2-0-tbltetmo.img" to open the command prompt and type in "adb reboot bootloader" , causing my screen to go into boot loader mode. [ e.g. image ] ]So far, everything is going well, according to this guide.. However, the problem is the next step. Once in boot loader mode, i type in "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-tbltetmo.img" . Instead of masses of text appearing, I instead receive the message: "Waiting for device." To be honest, I think my problem lies in the fact that before i went into boot loader mode, my phone was detected by my pc, but after it shifts to boot loader mode, it stops being detected, this causing the "waiting for device" message. However, even though I know the cause, I can't find any means to fix it after searching for hours. Also, yes, I enabled allow unknown sources and usb debugging. I've also went to T-Mobile's website to install their usb driver.

Possibly the cable. Not sure if the USB drivers you got from T-Mobile's website are the same as the one that TEKHD posted in his Tutorial thread for rooting...but I use those and with my original cable. (sometimes with my Xbox One charge cable) Hope that helps.
I know that if I use a a cheap or thin cable, I get problems.

Thanks for your reply. I gave up using the usb cable method to connect to adb. Instead, I just flashed it with Odin, which works (strangely, even though my device still didn't appear under "Computer")
1A) Accidentally relocked the BL while on custom recovery and rom. Bricked, only turns on to blank black screen w/ solid blue LED.
1B) Able to go QFil Q9008 mode but all attempts result in errors, mostly Saharas. Unable to get into Fastboot
2A) Out of nowhere, days later. From OFF state, Vol+ and Vol- and plug I get the initial screen to scroll to select Reboot, Recovery, Fastboot, Reboot options.
2B) Was able to get into Fastboot and recognized by All-In-One Tool by Mauronofrio but I could not unlock the BL because I could not get a successful unlock file download.
2C) Also was able to get into EDL and what looked like my first successful download/flash in QFil 9008 mode. All previous attempts For the first time I saw progress bars and it was complete, okay/closed.
3A) Nothing happened for a long time so I unplugged and power cycle. Now its still bricked but in a different way. Button combos yield a quick vibration, green LED flicker once, back to all black screen, over and over.
3B) I am assuming I am in a worst brick than before? Now I am unable to get into Fastboot, EDL, computer doesn't even prompt driver issue when its off. Where now?
Hi,
I had the q9008 issue too after flashing the ZUI ROM with QFIL.
Phone turned off itself and then, nothing but a vibration after 15s on power button, and PC recognized it as Q9008 port. No screen, no LED.
I tried to plug it to PC after battery died, and had the red LED. Tried to charge it, and it went alive again. Now it's on AEX and everything is fine.
You can try that way, or follow this guide (I would do that if it would not be alive):

Hi, same problem here.
Did you solve it? How?
My phone has been rooted for over a year but today the battery ran out and when I pluged the phone in it just shows the white razer powered by android logo and sits there forever I have been able to boot into fastboot mode but cant get it to show up on adb. I checed that this cable works for adb with another phone. I also tried the "wipe userdata" option but it didn't work. Any ideas on how get out of this?
oops
Download the newest factory image (link) and reflash it.
