Does anyone have it? I upgraded to Gingerbread, rooted, thought I made a backup of my current Stock Root, then installed the Gingervolt Rom. I like it, but I want to start doing my own customization of the Revo. So does anyone have the zv7 stock root? Or are there any other ideas as to what I could do, all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have a stock root backup
For gingerbread? Could I please have it?

My buttons have stopped working very well, and my hero won't vibrate anymore. I'm rooted but don't want to take my rooted phone to Sprint to get it looked at. So if I go back to stock, will I be able to root again? I've seen some people say yes and some say no. Many thanks in advance.

YES
There's guides on how to root the latest RUU and the latest OTA update in the Development section.

You can always re-root
Okay, I'm confused. Are you saying that I'll lose root forever, or that I'll be able to root the newer ruu if I go back to stock?

Just to be sure you are clear on what will happen. When you go back to stock by running the RUU, you will lose your root. However, you can just re-root after taking it to Sprint.

Hopefully this means that Cubed will finally be able to get his hands on gingerbread files for the CM7 port. Got my fingers crossed!
I think LG and Verizon just need to get that gingerbread to us. Don't just put out the esteem which is basically a replica and then make us wait.
Where are the roms for the esteem?

any updates??
new to all this, but figured out how to get a horizontal desktop using a home launcher. interested in taking it all a step further, but leaving it in more able hands, now that you have the hardware specs, how do you go about flashing the kernel? do you develop an apk file for the phone? or an executive for a desktop and flash pre-boot via USB?

I would be happy to port GingerVolt over to the Esteem, but you will need a recovery first and I am not the guy for that I may look into it however just to be sure lol.

I am fat and I like chips.... I was excited for a moment, but then I realized that those chips aren't salty and there are not enough of them crammed in the phone to bother with... it would be like eating the little chip crumbs at the bottom of the bag...
Just like the title says, I flashed the stock nandroid backup and downloaded the update but once it finished nothing happened. I tried starting the download over but now it tells me there is no new update available. Guess I'll just wait til MT pushes out a decrapped GB as a CWM flashable

From what I've read you have to update from v4 to v6 before u can get gb
If u have clockwork, you won't be able to update, as far as I'm aware.

Assuming you are on a stock rooted zv4 as you said. Revo toolkit. Install stock recovery. Then check for update. Will bring you to zv6. Then check for update again for gb. Make sure you have plenty of batteries. I did this in the bar the other night and I went from 78 to like 43%

I used this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211295
Downgraded to v4 then upgraded to v6
I assumed that by upgrading to v6 I would lose clockwork and root.
I did think that I would then be able to get the GB update, but when I use the check for new software nothing........

If you don't have BusyBox installed in the correct directory, the REVOTOOLKIT will not work properly. If you left the default of system\xbin, you will need to re-run the busybox installer and choose system\bin this time.
RevoToolKit should work properly after that to put the stock boot image back in place.
I tried flashing to v6 couldn't download the update then I tried flashing to v4 still couldn't grt the update. I'm waiting for the tot flash file for GB cause you have to have GB to use gb roms I think

First page of the development section, about 15 threads down (stock rooted Gingerbread):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348637
Flash that, then unroot. Or you can use LGPNST to flash the V7 Gingerbread .tot file. Either way will get you back to stock Gingerbread.
I just used this method and didn't have any issues at all getting back to stock, and I was then able to install the ZV8 update as well.
This may be a dumb question, but if I use the one click root/unroot to unroot my phone for this update, do I need to worry about clearing the caches and removing the rom and theme first or can I just run the unroot.bat file and be good to go?
Anyone have an answer please?

You first need to flash the stock rom, then you can click unroot.
You don't have to clear your cache and previous data but it's recommended.
