I'd try leaving it to charge overnight, or charge it when it's powered off. You can also try with another battery to see if that might be an issue.
I have 2 chargers that fit one of them lets it charge while its off the other one turns it on and it stays in bootloader mode i cant turn it off without unplugging it which one should I use?

1.Buy a new battery and chrage it with ???.(i don't know how to spell it,however you can use that to charge your battery with out phone. Sorry, i'm not a native speaker.)
2. Put it in your phone, you can boot again and see a big white cut "M". That mean it works, so you should take out the battery and reboot again into Recovery or OpenRecovery to reinstall your rom or use your backup.

You can cut open a USB cable and attach to the battery, this will fool the milestone into thinking the battery is full and let you flash.
Details here:

The Milestone will not charge when in Bootloader or Recoverymode.
thanks but I got the battery in the mail and it was 50% full according to my freinds droid (my old battery was dead and it couldnt hold a 100 percent charge for more than 3 minutes but this new battery is good and it let me use rsdlite and now I basically got a droid for $5

This is a known issue, and it is because of the battery driver from within the kernel, i tried to work on it but suspended my work for now.
Probably i will work on this on a later date.
then what's the solution for our problem,
i read somewhere that 1950mAh batteries are compatible for Sensation XL, does anybody tried already???

I have same problem. I had the original battery which was about 14 months old. Suddenly it started draining really fast, like 70% within
an hour or half. When it reached around 30% phone closed. When I turned it on, it said there was 4-6%.
Last week I purchased new Insmat 1700mAh battery and charget it phone turned off about 10 hours.
It only got to 84%. Now I´ve drained it and charged it couple of times and it reaches that 89% but no more than that.

For all that wants a new battery for their phone :
If you buy another one you will have to check if the voltage on the new battery is the same as on the stock battery. For now until someone makes another kernel for bigger battery, if you buy another battery with more miliamps on you will not get it to charge over 89% because bigger battery is running 0.1 volts higher than stock. The phone runs just fine with it but it can't fully charge it unless another kernel is made for it or unless you use an external charger, with that I mean , pulling battery out and charge it with another charger. And insert it again while fully charged

I think he meant desktop/external charger. By using them, you can charge battery full. Not when its in the phone. Maybe its related to kernels, I dunno.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda app-developers app
how much battery is charged is controled by the kernel, so in theory , if someone editted kernel then we can charge battery to full.
If you will use a bigger battery you need to use external charger to charge it full, and yes by external charger i mean a charger you can put the battery in, so it is pulled out of the phone

But to you who know better. If its because of kernel, would it be hard thing to repair since there is custom kernels out there?

Hi guys,

Just charge the device to full capacity and don't restart it. This behaviour is normal.
Each restart or time spent in recovery, breaks remaining capacity estimation.
Full charge repairs it again.

Out of curiosity, is this a software problem, a hardware problem, or a Sony is really bad at making phones problem? My first Xperia TL by them bricked itself less than a week after purchase, and now I am having this same problem with my new device ever since the update to Jellybean. I have this device through AT&T, could it be their fault? My problems with my Galaxy Note were their fault so I wouldn't be surprised.
You may notice a pattern, if its a feature of every you phone you have its a feature of the phones.
This issue has been discussed repeatedly, its all to do with the way the phone calculates the charge and its not really an accurate picture of the power in your phone. Thats why some people ave noticed their percentage going up whilst not on charge.
I suggest you just use your phone as normal for a week, (I.e no flashing etc) and let it go through several full charge, this always settles the battery stats out.
Also, the new bateries we have prefer to be on charge, so whenever posoble leave it plugges in and NEVER let it discharge, the new batteries dont like that

Check your charger first. A corrupted/duplicate charger would take long enough time to charge the battery to 100%
If it's ok, Try to charge your battery in a similar device. If it charge properly, then the problem might be in hardware.
If it not charging properly in other device, it's time to change your battery..:fingers-crossed:

I tried charging the old battery and that goes really fast. At least for me it's normal. It went from about 55% to 88% in 1,5-2 hours so happily it's not device related. Seems that the new battery isn't working properly. Or should i setup something to make my device recognize the new battery?

There's nothing to setup for a new battery. Only just in first use you have to charge it continuously for about 2-3 hours to calibrate it with the device.
Try one thing, fully discharge the battery to 0% and charge it up to 100% continuously.(whatever time it takes) :fingers-crossed:
If it not helps, change the battery.

There's a doubt. If it's because of a faulty battery, the drain will also be worst na.? But he didn't mentioned it.
After I flashed the new IC 3.0.5 i got a huge charging problem.
At first my phone charged very slowly. First I thought that it is a consequence of the hboot update. But it isn't.
Then over night and today there was no charging at all. I nearly cried.
Now that I reflashed IC 3.0.3 my phone charges again.
Now my question: is my phone bricked? With GSAM battery monitor and other programs or the #xxx# method with the dialer
everything says that my battery is ok. When I connect my phone to my PC there is no problem with the connection but the slow charging still is a thing.

Do you even know what "bricked" means? You can use the phone, and it charges. What's with the brick question? I'm not trying to thrash you, but you could at least find out what bricked means before you asked such stupid question. To answer your question - no, it's not bricked

How long does it charge? My phone charges about 2.5 hours from 0% to 100% on my current ROM. On some other ROMs I tried it charged almost 5 hours. Anyway, slow charge is even better than fast one if you ask me. Your battery doesn't heat as much and thus getting charged better and lower amp values give more complete charge than high values from faster charge

What??? Did you try with another charger? Dou you have fastcharge option enabled? For me fastcharge slowed down normal charging. Anyway, 10 hours is waaay to long. You can backup your ROM anf flash another just to se how it charges on other ROM. If it's the same, then you have a hardware problem

I didn't have fastcharge enabled. I have no kernel for it installed. I have a 2amh charger and when i play games on the charger it discharges. I don't know if that has something to do with the firmware update on 6.xx or is it because my rom isn't on the 6.xx base?

Firmware shouldn't cause it. I'm on old firmware, bit my phone charges fine. As I said, try some other ROM and see if it charges fine to rule out hardware fault. If you want to deal with backing up and reflashing that is. I remembered one more thing just now. What recovery do you have?
Mine phone also discharged when playing games connected on charger. Without touching it, it took about 5h to charge, stock unrooted phone. Turned out that problem was in USB extention cord i used between charger and phone.. Now it charges in 2,5h.

my phone running stock firmware and sometimes it experiences slow charging as well...
i wonder if it is because of the background apps that are running or smth?
Funny thing. I've experienced this mythical slow charge exactly twice now, and so I decided to search around today. I am running ARHD 71.1 with ElementalX 14.2.
Both times it was not fully charged when I woke in the morning, and when I checked the battery history it charged at about the same rate as it had drained the previous day, which is obviously weird.
I'm wondering if it has to do with the way I plug it in or something. Or maybe there was a kernel anomaly (the next day I tried the old turning it off and on again, and it hung on bootsplash for a looooonng time, but then managed to boot. weird). :silly:

That's the same thing that I experience. I've not solved my problem for 100%. From time to time the "strange-charging-ghost" comes around but I don't know how and why. I just plug and unplug a few times and then its pretty normal. I hope that I don't have to get a repair because A: I am out of warranty and B: I don't know if it could get fixed. Anyway I just did a factory reset and flashed a RUU and everything was pretty normal.
Ps: my Diagnostic centre *#*#4636#*#* says that my battery is OK
